According to reports, the South Korean Defense Ministry said that the first round of meetings between the ROK and the "United Nations Command" trilateral consultation mechanism was held at the "Freedom House" on the South Korean side of Panmunjom from 10 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. local time on the same day. The meeting was held in private. Three people from each of the three sides attended the meeting, with Cho Yong-geun, head of the Dprk Policy Division of the ROK Ministry of National Defense, Yan Chang-nam, daisaku (colonel) of the DPRK Army, and Hamilton, secretary general of the Military Armistice Committee of the United Nations Command, as the chief representatives of each side.

South Korea's Defense Ministry said that at the meeting, the parties assessed the JSA mine clearance work carried out since October 1 and exchanged views on specific details such as the withdrawal of JSA troops and weapons, the adjustment of surveillance equipment, and mutual inspection of disarmament measures. The three parties also agreed to explore concrete implementation options through the trilateral consultation mechanism in the future and to carry out mutual verification procedures.

According to the report, the South Korean Defense Ministry said that the ROK and the "United Nations Command" will continue to work on the normal implementation of the relevant provisions of the military field agreement signed by the DPRK and the ROK at the Pyongyang summit to disarm the common garrison.

At the same time, the tripartite consultation mechanism will also formulate new rules of duty after the disarmament of the JSA, and the way for the two sides to cooperate closely with unarmed military personnel. The three parties will discuss the composition and tasks of the JSA's joint management body for disarmament measures and the operation mode of the joint management body. It is reported that the three parties will also formulate relevant countermeasures for the possibility of ordinary people and tourists crossing the border across the military demarcation line.

According to reports, in the future, the DPRK side will evacuate 5 posts in JSA and the ROK side will evacuate 4 posts. However, the 1 North Korean post near the "Bridge of No Return" and the South Korean post near the "Hiking Bridge" remained intact. It is expected that after disarmament, the strength of the Rokmen and the Dprk in the joint garrison area will be reduced to 35 each. Unarmed joint security personnel will wear the "Panmunjom Civil Police" armband on the left arm of the panmunjom on a yellow background. From 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., the general public of Korea and foreign tourists can travel freely within the JSA.
