This morning, the farewell ceremony of Du Jinfang, one of the founders of the artistic style of the National Peking Opera Theater and a famous Peking Opera performance artist, was held in the auditorium of the Babaoshan Revolutionary Cemetery in Beijing. Du Jinfang's former friends, students, and fans came from all over the world to bid farewell to the master's last journey.
The official farewell ceremony began at nine o'clock, and at eight o'clock, people came to the farewell hall of Babaoshan one after another, and the people who came to send farewell wore white flowers on their chests, although they wore masks, they could see the mourning in their eyes, quietly waiting to see the last side.
Liu Changyu, a famous Peking Opera performance artist, came to bid farewell to Du Jinfang, "Mr. Du Jinfang is an excellent great artist, she is not just imitating, but according to the development of the times, under the leadership of the party and the government, with the original intention, respect for tradition, integrity and innovation." "In Liu Changyu's view, the character image in the traditional repertoire created by Du Jinfang is an image that keeps pace with the times, so it can also be accepted by modern people." She has created many plays, not only classical but also modern plays, all of which are works of positive energy and will always be a model for us to learn. Liu Changyu said that when Du Jinfang created and arranged the modern drama "Red Lantern", he repeatedly revised it, and there were many wonderful singing segments, sonorous and powerful, like pearls and jade landing.
Speaking of Du Jinfang's departure, Liu Changyu's voice was already a little trembling. "It's a shame that we lost such a great artist teacher today, but there's no way." Liu Changyu said: "I am also old now, and I also hope to pass on the cultivation of the party and the state to young people." I deeply miss my beloved teacher Du Jinfang. ”
At 9 a.m., the farewell ceremony officially began. Outside the farewell hall, there are two large screens, showing photos of Du Jinfang's performances and lectures before her death, and alternating with the fragments of her masterpieces such as "The Legend of the White Snake", "Xie Yaohuan", "Peach Blossom Fan", and "Liu Yin". Ye Shaolan, a famous Peking Opera performance artist, came out of the farewell hall with tears flashing in his eyes. Chen Shufang fondly recalled that in the last days of Du Jinfang's life, because of the epidemic situation, she could not go to the hospital in person, but often talked on the phone. "At the beginning, Teacher Du was still very confident, once a week, sometimes talking on the phone for forty minutes to an hour, and nine times out of ten was about stage art." Du Jinfang instructed her that as an apprentice, she had been exercising on the stage for decades and should have a responsibility and inheritance. "Teacher Du told me that some plays can be changed, you can move, which plays she has changed herself, but can be changed back." Chen Shufang said: "Teacher Du hopes that we will contribute to the inheritance and pass on the teacher's unique stage art.
