People's Daily Tokyo, June 10 -- According to the website of the Asahi Shimbun, near the Mumi river that flows through Fukuoka City, Japan, the figure of a feathered kingfisher makes passers-by stop and watch. Locals refer to kingfishers in emerald-like colors as "flying gems." Every year from spring to early summer, many photography enthusiasts flock here to look for them.
March to May is the season when kingfishers fall in love. The cute appearance of kingfishers snuggling up to each other makes many walkers stop. It is said that before the summer comes, they will complete the work of laying eggs, hatching, and sending young birds out of the nest.
The northern region of Kyushu in Japan entered the rainy season on May 15. This is the second earliest rainy season since the Japan Meteorological Agency recorded it. The rainy weather has made people very worried about the kingfisher's situation, but after entering June, it is mostly sunny and hot.
On June 8, when the rain cleared, the figures of kingfishers flying over the surface of the Mumi River gradually increased. They sometimes catch small fish for a good meal, and sometimes they "take a bath" in the river and comb their feathers.
