Yang Caihong, a tenacious, pure and kind female teacher in a mountain village, Zhou Luoping, a disabled soldier who is brave and loyal and sincere and simple, Li Wenguang, who is unremitting in self-improvement and arrogant and weak, Meng Qiuxia, a simple and cheerful teacher training graduate, Lin Xifeng, the mother of Li Wenguang, who is straightforward and quick-talking, and Zhou Luoping's grandfather, Zhou Luoping, who is upright and wise, and Zhou Luoping's grandfather, Wushan... Every character in the play is like the people around you and me in real life, some of them have gone through ups and downs, but they still dedicate themselves in obscurity with great love; some seem to be perfidious, but they are actually the last choices made for the ideals in their hearts... The premiere is imminent, let us follow the freshly baked character makeup photos, enter the inner world of the characters in the play in advance, and feel the greatness in the ordinary together.

In 2009, I started my opera career with the National Centre for the Performing Arts because of this play, and it is a great honor to once again shape this ordinary and great people's teacher image 12 years later. People's teachers and literary and art workers are engineers of the human soul. With the most sincere emotion, I would like to pay tribute to all the teachers and leaders on my growth path with this drama, to the educators who work silently in ordinary posts, and to the strivers from all walks of life in the great era!

Yang Caihong is a representative, representing those thousands of people who dedicate their youth for their ideals; representing those who bravely listen to the guidance of their hearts and ignite hope with love and dreams. Rainbow looks weak on the outside, but in fact she is very strong on the inside, and in the trajectory of her life, every choice is brave to follow her heart. How many people can do that?

Zhou Luoping, an ordinary recovered soldier, loves his motherland, hometown and all beautiful and kind things! But he is also an extraordinary person, a one-armed hero with a mutilated body but an incomparably powerful heart! For the sake of the children's future, he resolutely returned to his hometown to become an ordinary village chief, and because of the inseparability and hard work of seeing the rainbow, he was willing to be the most loyal guardian angel to accompany them silently! Every time I shape this role, it is actually the role that "shapes" me personally. In the depths of his heart, I feel a lot of valuable spiritual strength, and I hope to pass this on to everyone who loves life!

Although Li Wenguang failed Yang Caihong, but that is only the result of different values, he is not a bad person, but a member of thousands of children in mountain villages, who want to change their fate by their own efforts and struggle, and rush to the urban life they yearn for. He seems to stand on the opposite side of his relatives, friends, and villagers, but in the depths of his heart, he always has such a worry, thinking about his hometown and his relatives in his hometown. The original opera "Summer Rainbow" does not divide the characters by good and evil, but uses artistic techniques to truly present the lives of ordinary people on the stage, giving the audience the space to interpret the characters, and I believe that the audience can find their own shadow from the play.

Li Wenguang's musical image is very distinct, he is not willing to be poor from his own background, bravely pursue the ideal life. However, due to the conflict of values, he had to renege on his marriage contract with Yang Caihong, which made him feel ashamed of his behavior. When reason is greater than emotion and he tries to hide his guilt, he can only disguise himself as a reasonable and strong look. The existence of the role of Li Wenguang makes the dramatic conflict more layered, and this labeled villain not only sets off Yang Caihong's nobility and Zhou Luoping's simplicity, but also allows the audience to see the complexity and intriguing of human nature.
