In 2008, the state issued the Longjing Tea Geographical Indication. Before that, the White Dragon Well had already appeared. So before that, Bailongjing can be called Longjing tea.
Perhaps it is because there are too many Longjing in the market that geographical protection indications have appeared.
According to the regulations of the state, only the following three production areas - West Lake (Hangzhou West Lake District), Qiantang (Hangzhou City area outside the West Lake), Yuezhou (Shaoxing City area) - and the prescribed tree species planting, picking and tea made according to the corresponding process can be called Longjing.
So at this time, in the strict sense, Bailongjing is not Longjing tea, nor can it be called Longjing tea. Selling Longjing tea in the market is infringing.

Why were Bailongjing and Huanglongjing called Longjing before, and is there any origin between them?
The so-called Bailongjing is a tea raw material for making Anji white tea, a tea made of Longjing tea process, so it is called Bailongjing; because it is an Anji white tea tree species introduced from Xinchang County in Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province, and made of Longjing tea, it is also called The Big Buddha White Dragon Well.

The origin of Huanglongjing is similar. It is a Longjing tea made from golden buds, that is, yellow albino tea varieties, and is called "Huanglongjing" because of the color of dry tea.
"White Dragon Well" and "Yellow Dragon Well" cannot be called Longjing tea in the legal sense, but it does not mean that the tea is not good. On the contrary, some data show that because the amino acids of the albino tree species of Anji white tea are higher than those of ordinary green tea, they are particularly refreshing.
It should be noted that Baye has drunk Anji white tea, and its freshness is indeed very good, but it has not drunk Bailongjing and Huanglongjing, as to whether it is really so delicious, it is not a judgment.
