Zhuangzi, who lived in the Warring States period more than 2,300 years ago, was a famous thinker and philosopher, and one of the representative works he wrote, "The Lord of Health", the main purpose is to talk about the way of health, and the essence of its connotation has always been the "beacon" of thought that future generations will inherit and move forward!
In the work of "Health Lord", Zhuangzi followed the good guidance and told the story with a story: human life is from limited to the way of eternal life!

Zhuangzi believes that ordinary people's lives are finite ("life also has an end"); and human knowledge (cognition) is infinite and continuous ("knowledge is also endless"),so there should be a difference between limited and infinite boundaries; if they are mixed together, "with an end to seek no end", people will be in a state of danger and fatigue ("dead"); since this is the case, they still insist on pursuing "eternal life" and "immortality" ("no end"), and people will often be in a more dangerous and tired situation ("nothing more"). If people go beyond good and evil, they can follow the "middle way" and conform to the "middle way" and conform to the "middle void" ("The yuandu is the scripture" like the unimpeded pulse in the middle of the human back) can be achieved: maintain the body, preserve nature, protect relatives, and enjoy the years of heaven ("you can save yourself, you can live a whole life, you can raise relatives, you can do your best")!
Zhuangzi tells 4 stories below, allowing people to understand the mystery of "life from finite to immortal"!
The first story: "Cu Ding Xie Niu". What does cooking cattle have to do with wellness? In fact, it is different in form and similar in tao, and through the chef's skillful and exquisite cattle slaughtering process, Wen Huijun has realized the way of health.
You see, when the chef slaughters the cow to decompose the body of the cow, the place where the hand touches, the place where the shoulder rests, the place where the foot is stepped on, the place where the knee is pressed, all make a sound of the hammer, and the sound of brushing when the knife is quickly entered, all of which are not like beautiful music, in line with the rhythm of the Sanglin dance music, and in line with the rhythm of the "Sutra Head" music.
Witnessing this process, Wen Huijun exclaimed: "Hey, it's wonderful! How can your technology reach such a superb level? The chef put down his knife and said, "What I like is to explore the laws of things, and I have advanced one level more than ordinary techniques and techniques ("The good of the courtiers, The way, into the skill"). When the cattle were slaughtered, all that was seen was a whole cow, and after three years, the whole cow was no longer seen. Now, I only feel with my mind and do not have to observe with my eyes, and the faculties of the eyes seem to stop and rely on the mind to operate ("The subject meets God instead of seeing, and the official knows and the god wants to act"). Cutting open the gap between the musculoskeletal bones and sliding the knife to the large void between the bone nodes, all according to the natural physiological structure of the cattle body, according to the natural physiological structure of the cattle body, along the structure of the cow itself ("according to heavenly reason", "because of course"); never collided with the parts where the meridians of the cattle body are closely connected with the flesh and bones, let alone touched those large bones! Good cooks change a knife a year because they are cutting meat with a knife; ordinary cooks change a knife a month because they are cutting bones with a knife. Now that I have been using this knife for nineteen years, I have slaughtered thousands of cattle, and the blades are as sharp as if they had just been sharpened from a whetstone. There is a gap between the bone joints of the cattle and the various combination parts, so a thin blade is inserted between the bone joints with gaps and the combination parts, and the operation and rotation of the blade are so wide and generous ("There must be room for recovery in the edge"), so the blade used for nineteen years is still like it has just been sharpened. Despite this, whenever I encounter tendons and bone joints that are intertwined, and see that it is difficult to get off the knife, I am extra cautious and dare not be careless, my eyes are focused, my movements are slow, and the knife is very slight. With a knife, the beef bones were all broken down, like a pile of fresh dirt piled on the ground. Then I picked up the knife and stood there, looking around, proud and full of ambition, and then wiped the knife and collected it ("for it to hesitate and be full of ambition, good for the knife and hide it"). Wen Huijun exclaimed: "Wonderful, I listened to the chef's words and realized the truth of health care from it ("Zenya!) I have heard the words of Ku Ding, and I must be healthy")!
The second story: I was surprised to see the Right Master. Gong Wenxuan of the State of Song was shocked when he saw the Right Master and said, "What kind of person is this?" How can there be only one foot? Was it born with only one foot, or did it artificially lose one foot? The Right Master replied, "Born, not man-made ("Heaven also, non-man also"). God gave birth to me and left me with only one foot; the shape of man is completely given by God, so I know that it is innate, not man-made! ”
The third story: the lake pheasant. The pheasant on the edge of the swamp takes ten steps to peck at a mouthful of food, and a hundred steps to drink a sip of water, but it does not pray in the slightest for captivity in the cage, if it is in the cage, although it is energetic, it is also very unhappy. ("Ze Pheasant pecks at ten steps, drinks in a hundred steps, and does not dwell in fanzhong.") Although God is king, he is not good. ”)
The fourth story: mourning for Lao Tzu. The old man died, his friend Qin lost his mourning, and he cried three times and left. Lao Nie's disciple asked, "Aren't you a friend of the teacher?" Qin Fu replied, "Yes." The disciples asked, "Can a mourning friend be like this?" Qin Lost said: Of course! I thought that you had been detached people for many years with the teacher, but now it seems that you are not. Just now I went to mourn, there are old people crying him, there are young people crying him, they must have a reason why they didn't want to cry but couldn't help but cry bitterly. Such a joy and evil death is against common sense and betrays the truth, and they all forget that man is inherited from nature and is ordained by heaven, and in ancient times people called this practice a departure from nature ("It is the punishment of the heavens and forgetting what it has suffered, and the ancients call it the punishment of the heavens"). When you come into the world by chance, your teacher should be born at the right time; when you leave the world by chance, your teacher dies obediently. Content with heaven and normal division, obedience to nature and change, sorrow and joy can not enter the heart, in ancient times people said that doing so is called natural liberation, as if the heavens lifted the pain of hanging for you. ("When it is appropriate to come, the Master is also there; when it is appropriate to go, the Master is also obedient.") Peace and time are smooth, mourning can not enter also, the ancients said that it is the emperor's county solution. ”)
We have listened to four stories, and what health principles can we understand from their morals?
The first is to make it clear. "Health Lord" means "the way of health". What is the way to maintain health? Zhuangzi summed it up as "the book of the yuandu": people should adhere to the virtual way of things and conform to the changes and development of nature. "Tao" understands, the goal is also clear, the goal of health care should be "immortality"! Why is zhuangzi's goal of health not "eternal life"? Because ordinary people "have an end to life" (there are limits to human survival and growth), we cannot go against the way of nature to pray for "eternal life". How long should the maximum age of wellness pursuit be? That is to say, "can be exhausted", that is, can enjoy the natural years and life expectancy of people!
The second is to go with the flow. People have a clear understanding of the way of health, to achieve it, we must follow the correct truth, obey the appropriate concept, need to use this as a guide to practice, to correct their own mistakes. Health care should be like The Ding Xie Niu should be "according to heavenly reason" and "because it is certain"; it cannot be as surprised as when Gong Wenxuan saw that the right master was born disabled, nor can he put the pheasant in a cage to be kept in captivity, because those are things that do not conform to the nature of nature to look at things and do things; they must also have a Daguan attitude towards life and death, and they cannot live and die evilly, but should mourn and be happy, and be at peace and smooth!
The third is to do as it is. "Cu Ding xie cattle", from the beginning to see the whole cow, three years later to see the decomposed cow, nineteen years later the blade of the slaughter of the cow is still as new, at this time Cu Ding in the process of slaughtering cattle is no longer to rely on the eyes to guide, but rely on the intuition of the mind to guide their own actions. From laymen to insiders to experts, the communication bridge between cattle slaughter and health care is "reason", "Tao", and practice! Health maintenance is also a practical process, it has the distinction of authenticity, depth, length, and the criterion for judging them is practice. From proposing "health care" to becoming a "health care person", it is a process of practice; from "health care person" to becoming a "health care family", it is also a process of exercising and grinding and striving for excellence in practice.
The fourth is to pass on its gods. Life is limited ("life also has an end"), and the human spirit is infinite ("knowledge is also endless"), and the infinite path of the human spirit is realized through generations of inheritance, passing on the torch, "I don't know the end"! Health care includes both body nourishment, but also includes nourishing the heart and nourishing the gods, and they are mutually reinforcing, but the focus of health care should be "nourishing the gods", because the spirit is the essence of life, it can be inherited, can be "immortal"!
