The Green Years: My Short Career as a Teacher

author:Floral Full Trail 2025

Today is Teacher's Day, and I've been thinking about what I should write about today, and I haven't thought about it for half a day.

When I took the bus home in the afternoon, I suddenly thought that I had not been a teacher for several years, and at this time, the situation of students calling me "Teacher Wang" came to mind, and I couldn't help but smile.

My unforgettable years as a teacher seemed to be far away and seemed to be very close to me.

At the time of the college entrance examination, my score did not reach the college score line.

Just when I was ready to volunteer for high school secondary school (there was a high school secondary school at that time), I received a notice from the admissions office, because my father had worked in Qingnan Grassland for more than 15 years and could give me 20 points.

In this way, my score exceeded the college score line, but I had to be a directional student, and the orientation student's major was almost unselected.

There was only one choice: one was the college of animal husbandry and veterinary medicine at that time, and the other was the department of physics of the teacher's college, and the two schools of that year were now merged, the former merged into Qinghai University, and the latter into the West Campus of Minzu University.

I didn't want to engage in animal husbandry, so I applied to Qinghai Normal College.

Our major is electrochemical education in the Department of Physics, which is to study photography, videography, making slides, etc., including art appreciation. In fact, this major is quite good.

During the junior internship, we had two internships: one was an educational internship, that is, to go to the middle school to give a lecture, and the other was a professional internship at the Provincial Electricity Education Center, including photography and videography.

After that, it was the graduation assignment, and because I was an only son, according to the policy, I could no longer return to my original area, so I was assigned to the First Vocational High School.

I went to school early, and I was 19 years old when I graduated from college.

I registered in July and officially went to work in September.

That school has two names, one is the Twentieth Middle School (Middle School) and the other is the First Vocational Middle School (High School).

I was assigned to the academic office of the high school, and naturally became a teacher in a vocational middle school (in fact, I did not want to be a teacher, but the fate was so, I had to give up), and the work consisted of managing the electric classroom and six electrical principle classes.

The work is relatively easy, and there is no need to go to the academic office, in the computer room on the third floor of the teaching building, and the electric classroom is on the fifth floor.

When I first took over, the huge electric classroom was actually a ladder classroom, and I didn't use it much. At the front of the classroom there was a lectern with a blackboard; on either side were two closets, each with a television set, a video recorder and two movie projectors, and a filing cabinet with a mess of debris.

In my first year at school, the school asked me to learn to show movies. I interned in a movie theater for a month and a half, and in addition to learning to play movies, I also watched several movies for free.

After finishing the study, the school asked me to ask someone from the city film company to help us debug the projector and pull up the movie curtain.

After that, I didn't do anything on the movie, but the video recorder was quite useful. Once, because of the special request of a certain class, they quietly put on the video tape of "Toy Story", and everyone was very happy.

Until I left school, the utilization rate of the electric classroom was not high (which may also have something to do with my enthusiasm and creativity).

What impressed me the most was teaching and dealing with students.

I'm taking the "Principles of the Electrician" class. In fact, my science courses in college were basically barely passed. Electronic circuit class assembly radio, direct blindness, high number homework is always "reference" to classmates, our "general physics" a book is basically half of the lecture, did not finish at all.

However, when I was a sophomore, it was basically a liberal arts course, what "Political Economy", "Legal Knowledge", "Education", ah, I studied well, and actually won the second prize comprehensive scholarship.

As you can imagine, how I led the lessons, learned them myself when preparing for the lessons, and seemed to understand the lessons for the students. Vocational high school students basically have a poor learning foundation, plus I teach a computer class, "Principles of Electricians" is a side course, students do not pay attention to it, and there is no initiative.

I can actually get through this, but whenever I meet a student who takes the initiative to say hello, I do feel that I am a teacher, but I am just pretending.

I was young and soft-tempered, and I didn't discipline students. Once I actually hit the student's head, it was a high school student, ah, I think about it later, I did go a little too far. The student was probably really angry, grabbed my neckline and pushed me to the wall, at which point he was pulled by other classmates.

Despite some unpleasantness, most of the time I get along well with the students. On New Year's Eve, when I came back to the office after class, I put a small red bag on my desk containing melon seeds, sugar, and peanuts. Under the bag was pressed a note that read "Happy New Year teacher Wang", can you imagine how I felt at that time?

Many friends, even teachers, said that I was suitable to be a teacher.

But at that time, somehow, the mood has always been a gloomy state, although the work is relatively relaxed, still can not find themselves, always feel no sense of peace of mind and steadfastness.

The impression I left on others was "蔫", and the female teacher in the same office said that I was "young and old", and I had no passion at a young age.

Still, I persevered, even though my performance in vocational high school was poor and even disappointing to myself.

My only bright moment was when I finished second in the teaching competition.

For this competition, I went through the prepared lessons in the class, and then made an appointment with the students, and I was more positive in class, just like the first time I listened.

At the end of the class, my good friend actually looked at me with an incomprehensible look, because with his usual impression of me, it should not be so good.

In school, my psychological obstacles became more and more serious, and later, I left the vocational middle school and went home to recuperate.

My short career as a teacher left me with many places to miss.

Although he later lectured in insurance companies and trained dozens of people in software companies, the role of "teacher" was very weak compared to the time in vocational middle school when he was young.

In my position, I did not "teach and educate people", but I was so close to the title of "Engineer of the Human Soul" (I don't think I could call that title yet), and I did make myself regretless.
