Part I Growth trajectory
On the journey of life, each of us is telling a story about himself. Some are warm and glorious in the annals of history; some are moving and passed down from generation to generation; some are shameful and stink for thousands of years. Today, I will share with you the truest growth story of a grassroots "grassroots teacher".
My professional growth, in terms of time and number, can be roughly divided into three stages, the first rural middle school, the second stage of the factory and mine school, and the third stage of the municipal middle school (including 15 years of private school). I have probably experienced the types of schools in basic education in China.
01 Rural middle schools, harvest innocent friendship
In July 1981, I graduated from normal school and was assigned to a rural middle school, Fangzhen Middle School in Zhangdian District, when I was 18 years old. Normal schools are not specialized, and all the basic subjects are studied. So my classmates taught all kinds of subjects after graduation, and some people actually taught mathematics, physics and chemistry at the same time, which also showed that there was too much shortage of teachers in rural middle schools at that time.
In the first year, the school arranged for me to teach the first grade politics and the second grade history class, and the second year to teach the Chinese class of the first and second classes of the junior high school, and also served as the class teacher of the first class, which was my first time as a class teacher. This year, whether it is teaching or working as a class teacher, I am full of passion. I still remember the first time the principal listened to my class, I talked about "A Precious Shirt", this article is mainly about a young worker who was scratched by Premier Zhou's car on the night of August 3, 1972 due to bicycle violations, Premier Zhou immediately asked the staff to take her to the hospital for examination, and gave her a brand new white shirt, this worker has never been willing to wear it once, whenever he sees this white shirt, he will think of Premier Zhou's noble character and glorious image.
After listening to the class, the principal praised my class and praised it at the teachers' meeting of the whole school. Let me show open classes throughout the school. This greatly stimulated my enthusiasm for work, the students are also very engaged in learning, and the Chinese results of our class are always very good every time they take the unified examination, seven or eight points higher than the second place.
At that time, more than half of the school's teaching staff were private teachers, and there were very few public teachers who were really from the class, so the leaders treated our newly assigned teachers as treasures, not only arranged dormitories for our new teachers, but also specially arranged temporary workers to be responsible for cooking for us.
Probably because I am young and close to the age of the students, the students especially like my classes and like to chat with me. After school, there are always groups of students who run to the office to chat with the teacher in the name of asking questions, and refuse to leave for a long time. Students' questions are varied, not only in the disciplines I teach, but also in other disciplines. For example, mathematics, history, biology, science fiction and so on. Even if there are a few people in our family, I am concerned about whether I have a girlfriend or not. As long as I know, I will patiently answer them for everyone. In fact, I know in my heart that students are not here to ask questions, but to get close to the teacher.
Over time, my relationship with the students has become deeper and deeper, and it seems that an emotional attachment has developed. On holidays, I always look forward to starting school early and seeing my students.
A boy in our class, very personal. Their home is close to the school, and they often have conflicts with their parents, sometimes running to the school in the middle of the night to let me give him a review. This kind of thing happens a lot, so I have a very close relationship with my parents.
I only taught Chinese for one year. Later, because of the needs of work, I changed to teaching mathematics, or from the beginning. Therefore, the two classes I had taken could only say goodbye to them.
I still remember saying goodbye to my students. It was the first day of school after the summer vacation, August 8. Because rural schools also have autumn breaks, summer vacations are not as long as urban schools. When I went to the classroom to say goodbye to everyone, the students actually cried in the classroom, and the news came too suddenly. I could only hold back the tears and tell everyone that I just wouldn't give you a lesson, but I still live on a campus, and my classmates could come to me between classes or after school.
Love is mutual, and the more you give, the more you will receive in return. Since then, August 8 of every year has become a day for a class of students and me to get together, and everyone has named this day "Double Eight Festival". Whether it is study or life, students always like to find me when they encounter problems, and sometimes they involve very private emotional problems.
My hometown is also rural, my parents are older, my younger siblings are young, so when the farm is busy, I often ask my students for help, and when I hear that I have something at home, everyone rushes to go. After work, I eat at home, everyone is like a family, because the age gap with the students is not big, so the students treat me like their big brother, and I treat them like my younger brothers and sisters.
People say "a teacher for a lifetime as a father", but I couldn't have that emotion at that time. As I get older, I really feel like a father treating my children with my students. If it is said that it is to seek private interests by taking advantage of the convenience of the position, this should be regarded as it. If it were now, some of my behavior would have been exposed long ago. Wasn't a primary school student reporting an umbrella for a teacher a few years ago? My behavior was much more serious than that of the teacher.
After working in the countryside for a few years, the biggest gain is the relationship with students, the kind of simplicity that you can't refuse, and some of them can't be separated in a lifetime. Later, I went to the College of Education for further study, and I often received letters from students, telling me some stories about what happened in the class after I left school. Once I received a letter from the original class leader saying that one of the girls in the class was about to drop out of school because of emotional problems, and begged me to take the time to talk to the girl, saying that only I could save her, because she only trusted me. I was touched by this trust, and I took the first time off to find this girl to understand the situation, so that I could say that I finally dispelled her idea of dropping out of school.
During the period of rural work, there are few opportunities to participate in teaching and research activities in urban areas. The most impressive one was to observe an open class in Zhangdian District, listening to a class by Gao Dexing, an old teacher in Zhangdian No. 1 Middle School, about a content that infiltrated geometric reasoning in algebra class, and this lesson still had a great impact on me. I still remember that in the summer of 1984, I took a teacher professional quality examination organized by Zhangdian District, and I actually scored 99 points, which made me show my face in school once.
02 Factory and mine school, teaching is emerging
After graduating from the Department of Mathematics of Zibo Institute of Education, I came to Shandong Xinhua Medical Device Factory School for children, or taught junior high school mathematics, as a class teacher, and worked for another eight years. At that time, the factory and mine school was very popular, there were more than a dozen in Zhangdian District alone, and the Zhangdian District Factory and Mine School Principals Association was also established, often organizing teaching and research activities, engaging in open classes, high-quality classes, essay competitions, etc. within the factory and mine schools, and my teaching level has been greatly improved in the past eight years, and the first time I participated in the zhangdian district high-quality class competition, I won the first prize.
During this period, I began to publish papers in journals such as "Secondary School Mathematics Teaching Reference", "Mathematics Teaching", "Mathematics Teacher", "Shandong Education", etc., and twice represented Zibo to participate in the national mathematics teaching annual meeting, and exchanged my papers at the annual meeting, which can also be regarded as a small reputation in the circle of mathematics teaching in Zhangdian Junior High School.
03 Municipal middle school, the golden period of career development
With the continuous deepening of the national enterprise reform, enterprise schools are rapidly moving from prosperity to decline. My beloved teaching of mathematics is also coming to an end. It was also a coincidence that when I was worried about my whereabouts, I once again ushered in the opportunity to change my destiny.
In the summer vacation of 2016, Yu Huixiang, who was the head of the mathematics teaching and research team at Zibo Eighteenth Middle School, came to me and asked me if I would like to go to their school, and there was a shortage of mathematics teachers in the eighteenth, and I agreed without saying a word. Yu Huixiang was the one I met during a teaching seminar in the city and admired each other. The next day I went to eighteen to give a trial lecture, and the principal, vice principal, teaching director, and leaders of various teaching and research groups participated in the lecture, and after about ten minutes of talking, I answered two questions randomly raised by the principal.
At the beginning of the summer vacation, I officially went to work in the eighteenth middle school, participating in the summer tutoring of the graduating grade, teaching math classes in class 7 and class 9. The results of the last final exam ranked first and second in the bottom two of the nine classes in the school, especially the 9th class, and the average score difference between the first place was more than ten points, and there were more than a dozen students who took the single digits.
According to the students, in the first two years, their math teacher changed frequently, and I was their fifth math teacher. Facing such a class, I am really "Alexander". I assigned a special assignment to the students, and each wrote a letter to the teacher about the past, present, and future of their math class. From the student's letters, I learned more about it and also worked out the next teaching strategy. I wrote back to each of my classmates in earnest.
After a holiday of math tutoring, my biggest gain was to gain the trust of my classmates and regain their confidence in learning mathematics well. My math class adopted my own original teaching secret, the Classroom Quiz Scorecard, which greatly mobilized the enthusiasm of the students to learn mathematics. After one semester, the math scores of the two classes have improved significantly. In particular, the 9th class, from the original penultimate first, suddenly jumped to the second place in the level department. My efforts were not in vain, nor did I embarrass Teacher Yu Huixiang who recommended me.
How far a person can go depends on who he walks with; how good a person is, depends on who he has guidance; how successful a person is, depends on who he is with. Coming to the eighteenth middle school, I ushered in the golden period of my career development. In 1998, he participated in the selection of high-quality classes in the urban area, won the first place, and was recommended to participate in the quality class competition in Shandong Province and won the first prize. In 2012, he was successively awarded the title of Teaching Expert and Subject Leader of Zibo City. Later, Teacher Liu Tongjun, who was also a factory and mine school, was also transferred to the Eighteenth Middle School. Teacher Liu is also the backbone of the teaching of the factory and mine school, and is also an expert in the application of geometric drawing boards in the city. His arrival added to the eighteenth mathematics group.
Yu Huixiang, who is already a special teacher in Shandong Province, led me and tongjun to jointly undertake a major project of the Municipal Teaching and Research Office, "Experiment and Research on the Teaching Mode of Mathematics Classroom in Junior High Schools of "Inquiry - Subject Participation"", from finding materials, to classroom practice, to the revision of the implementation plan, pouring everyone's efforts, I experienced the power of teamwork for the first time. This project was guided by Yunpeng, a teacher of the Municipal Teaching and Research Office, and was promoted and applied in the city in 1999. Since then, Mr. Yunpeng has become a professional growth mentor for the three of us in the practical sense. I gave a keynote speech at the project promotion meeting and presented an open class, which was well received by the participants.
Later, Tongjun and I were successively rated as special teachers and senior teachers in Shandong Province. The two courseware jointly produced by Tongjun teacher and me, "Interesting Rolling Round Problem" and "Mosaic", won the first prize of the Shandong Provincial Excellent Courseware Competition and the first prize of the national award. In 2008, teacher Liu Tongjun and I jointly undertook the Shandong Provincial Education Science "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" project "Research and Experiment on the Content and Acquisition Method of The Experience of Mathematics Basic Activities of Junior High School Students", from the establishment of the project to the conclusion of the project, after four years, the final project results won the second prize of the first basic education teaching achievements of the Ministry of Education.
At present, teachers Yu Huixiang and Liu Tongjun are already well-known special teachers and education experts in the province and even the whole country. My professional growth is inseparable from their leadership.
Part II: Growing Feelings
Look back on your own growth experience and reflect on your teaching behavior. I believe that the growth of a teacher is inseparable from the following four keywords: "diligent in learning", "sensitive to practice", "courageous in innovation" and "good at expression".
01 Diligent in learning
I am very clear that my original education is "middle teacher", which is a "hard injury", so I must seize every opportunity to further study. In order to realize my college dream, I was admitted to zibo institute of education in 1985, and after two years of further study, I got a college diploma, and later obtained undergraduate and postgraduate degrees through correspondence courses. Especially at present, in the context of schools that attach importance to academic qualifications, no country cannot recognize academic diplomas, and most of our generation have come this way.
Back to the actual job, a diploma alone is not enough. Even if you graduate from graduate school, when you come to work, there are still many things you have to learn deeply, and the knowledge and skills learned in college are far from enough, and you must continue to learn and continuously improve.
Reading is the best way to learn. Because it is not limited by time and space, it is relatively free. Very early on, I had a naïve view that as a teacher, you should read a little book outside of your own specialty. The books I read are more "miscellaneous", philosophical, literary, psychology and pedagogy. In 1985, I entered the College of Education, and this was the time when I was the craziest to study. In addition to the four masterpieces, he also indulged in Zhang Yang's "Second Handshake" and Qiong Yao's "Several Degrees of Sunset Red" with his classmates, especially the euphemism and delicacy of the ancient poems in Qiong Yao's novels, which often made us laugh and cry with the protagonist. At the same time, a popular "Legend of the Archery Hero" also set off the Jin Yong fever and martial arts fever.
There were many books in the library that could not be read, but I felt that I did not know what to read, "The Complete Detective Sherlock Holmes", "Robinson Crusoe", "The Count of Monte Cristo", "How Steel is Made", "My University" and other tomes began to circulate among each other in the dormitory, I did not expect that after many years these books are still affecting generations of people, and later I learned that the books we were reading at that time were classics, that is, famous books. Sometimes I also read Hegel's books, such as Logic and Phenomenology of Spirit. Among the foreign masterpieces, the ones that had the greatest influence on me were the Russian writer Leo Tolstoy's Resurrection and the French writer Rousseau's Confessions and Emile.
After work, I mainly read books and magazines related to work, and occasionally read some books such as history and philosophy and biographies, and I subscribed to teaching magazines such as "Mathematics Teacher", "Chinese Mathematics Education", "Secondary School Mathematics Teaching Reference", "Mathematics Teaching", "Secondary School Mathematics Magazine", "Mathematics in Primary and Secondary Schools", "Mathematics in Secondary Schools", "Shandong Education", "Shanghai Education", "Beijing Education" and other teaching magazines at my own expense. From Sukhomlinsky's "Suggestions for Teachers" to "Ye Shengtao's Educational Anthology", from Wei Shusheng's "Class Teacher's Work Talk" and "The Way of Teaching and Educating People", to Sun Weigang's "My Three-Round Education Teaching Experiment", from Lu Qin's "Being a Man and Doing Things" and "Writing to Parents of the Century" to Zhou Hong's "Appreciating Your Children" and "Cocking Your Thumb", from "The Revolution of Education" to "Learning to Survive - Today and Tomorrow in the Education World", from Zhu Yongxin's "Dream of New Education" to Guo Sile's "Education Towards Life", I talk to the masters and talk to the masters. Traditional teaching concepts have been swept away, and advanced teaching concepts have been born.
Among the many educational theory books, in 1993, the Yellow River Publishing House published Professor Zhang Chengfen's "Introduction to Quality Education", which is the first monograph in China to systematically discuss quality education, and has many profound insights and incisive analysis of education. I also read a book called "The Call of Quality Education - Saving Children", which was written by Su Dali, an outstanding class teacher in the country, with 40 years of education accumulation. Teacher Su told us that whether a child's mind is stretched or not is the key to the success or failure of education. Children with stretched hearts are bound to fly happily and easily, and children with depressed hearts can only crawl painfully and slowly. There is no education without appreciation. The most essential need of human nature is the desire to be respected and appreciated. As far as spiritual life is concerned, every child seems to have come into the world to be appreciated.
Therefore, in my 26-year career as a class teacher, I have paid special attention to the mental health of students, been good at insight into students, and always paid attention to students' personality differences. Only in this way can we better cultivate students' sound personality. Out of genuine care for the students, I have established a good relationship with the parents of the students through continuous communication and exchanges over the years.
Sun Weigang is a model mathematics teacher in China, and his success has inspired me a lot. The requirements for cultural literacy vary according to the subjects taught by each teacher, but one thing is common: that is, all teachers must have a high level of language and cultural accomplishment. The level of humanistic literacy will not only determine the level of teaching, but also penetrate into personality and personality, affect your educational concept and education methods, and even create a series of educational habits for you. I think the most fundamental thing that a science student lacks compared to a liberal arts student is history. Later, when I read some celebrity biographies, I suddenly felt that these biographies could make up for the shortcomings of a science student.
In addition to reading, learning from colleagues around you can solve many practical problems at work. There is no shortage of masters around me. They have their own strengths, Yu Huixiang is good at teaching materials processing, the control of classroom teaching is like flowing water; Liu Tongjun is good at modern information technology, his geometric drawing board level is a master in Zibo and even the whole country, their help and support is my driving force for progress, over time I have also become an expert in classroom teaching and a master of geometric drawing board; Zhang Junai, an outstanding teacher in the country, is the elder sister of our math group, she has been like a day for more than 30 years, with unlimited love for students and careers, on the three-foot podium, diligently and selflessly dedicated, With good teacher morality and excellent teaching results, it has won wide praise and trust. Although she has retired, the spiritual wealth she left us will surely become the positive energy for the young teachers in our school to continue to grow and rise.
If we don't have so many good role models around us, we might as well create opportunities to go out and learn from better teachers across the country. I have participated in many provincial and municipal and even national teaching seminars, and through out-of-home exchanges, I have met a large number of big names in the field of mathematics education in the country, and I have the honor to listen to the reports of many experts and famous teachers. For example, Zhang Xiaoda, Cai Shanghe, Zhang Jianyue, and Zhang Jinsong of the Renjiao Society, Professor Ding Ersheng of Beijing Normal University, Professor Ma Xiaotian of the Central University for Nationalities, Professor Fang Yunjia of Capital Normal University, Professor Luo Zengru of Shaanxi Normal University, Zhang Dianzhou of Mathematics Teaching, Yue Sanli of Mathematics Teacher, special teacher of Jiangsu Province, Principal Zhao Weikun, the main designer of the construction of the mathematics laboratory in Jiangsu Province, Guo Weiliang, Yin Jianzhong, Han Jiqing, and so on. Being able to communicate face-to-face with these heavyweight celebrities has a huge impact on a front-line teacher. I still remember the signature that Mr. Cai Shanghe gave me at the beginning: "Strive for the development of mathematics education in China!" ”
Some teachers may think that as a front-line teacher, how many opportunities do you have to go out and study? That's a reality. But the most fundamental thing is a person's initiative to learn on their own. How far a person can go depends first and foremost on how far he wants to go. It is also like a theme of CCTV" "How big the heart is, how big the stage is". In recent years, I have met a large number of famous teachers and outstanding young teachers from all over the country through the Internet.
Since 2015, this group of people has gone from online to offline, participating in various teaching forums at their own expense, exchanging their own teaching ideas, and becoming friends with each other. For example, Wan Guanglei: Jiangsu famous teacher, initiator of the first national junior high school mathematics teaching summit forum; Liu Naizhi: Qilu famous principal, the most beautiful teacher in Qilu, mathematics teaching expert, the initiator of the first national junior high school mathematics teaching summit forum; Bu Yilou: Jiangsu province special teacher, senior teacher, is the designer, advocate, explorer and practitioner of the "growth mathematics" theory, and is the winner of the "Su Buqing Mathematics Education Award", the highest award in the field of mathematics education in China's secondary schools (which can be called the "Nobel" award for secondary school teaching) Pang Yanfu: Jiangsu Province Special Teacher, Wuxi Junior High School Mathematics Master Studio Host; Yu Xinhua: Jiangsu Province Special Teacher, Senior Teacher, National Well-known Mathematical Problem Solving Research Expert; Jiang Hongyan: Jiangsu Province Special Teacher, First Prize of National Quality Class Competition; Liu Migui: Outstanding Young Teacher of Nanjing City, Discipline Leader of Gulou District, First Prize of Jiangsu Quality Class Competition, Winner of First Division and One Excellent Class, Ministry-level Excellent Class; Li Xingjiang: Mathematics Teaching and Research Fellow of Shangyu District Teaching and Research Office of Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province, Leader of the First Mathematics Discipline of Shaoxing City, The first famous teacher in Shaoxing City, senior proposition expert, the leader of the Shaoxing Famous Teacher Studio; Qian Dechun: Mathematics teaching and research staff of the Teaching and Research Office of the Taizhou Municipal Education Bureau of Jiangsu Province, senior proposition expert; Zheng Liping: nationally renowned special teacher, national top ten class teachers, Qilu famous teachers, Shandong Provincial Teacher Training Course Expert; Zhou Jiguang: Shanghai's first special teacher; Li Shuchen: senior mathematics teaching expert, participated in the preparation of the Qingdao version of junior high school mathematics textbooks, published papers ranked first in the number of reprints of the full text of the national people's congress copy materials; Ma Xuebin: "Challenge Finale Question" Author, senior geometric drawing board training and lecture expert; Huang Zhe: Shanghai Zhangjiang Education Group Outstanding Junior High School Mathematics Teacher, WeChat Public Account Jiji Junior High School Mathematics Station Founder and Founder of Shanghai Grassroots Mathematics Platform; Luo Jialiang: Mathematics Olympiad Coach, WeChat Public Account Science Mathematics Founder; Liu Huawei: a young talent in the field of mathematics teaching in Shanghai, with unique insights on mathematics teaching, not afraid of authority, published dozens of papers in core journals, published 2 monographs; Liu Junyong: low-key and introverted, commonly known as jianghu " Ji Pengcheng: Famous mathematics education activist, secretary general of the Yangtze River Delta Famous Teacher Studio Alliance Summit Forum, former principal of Guannan County Experimental Middle School in Lianyungang City...
The number of people participating in the teaching forum has gradually developed from less than 50 people at the beginning to 600 to 600 or 700 people, and the spontaneous mathematics teaching and research forum is sweeping the country and is unstoppable. There is a young couple, both math teachers from the same middle school in Chengdu, Sichuan, and they both participate in almost every year's teaching forum. Some teachers simply brought their children from junior high school to participate in activities. After the event, they can also travel at the location of the event to see if this is a good choice. Anyway, it is also a tourist, and you can also meet so many people in the same way. Such a way of travel, our young teachers can not learn from?
02 Sensitive to practice
The purpose of learning is to apply the teaching theories, methods and technologies learned to the actual teaching work, so as to internalize the comprehensive quality of the individual, and then continuously improve the quality of teaching. From the target teaching and problem group teaching in previous years, to the group teaching and case guidance in recent years, and then to the recent application of flipped classrooms and micro-lessons, these teaching theories and teaching methods or techniques contain certain truths, and we will immediately put into teaching practice when we learn back, combine the methods learned with the teaching practice of the school, and adopt the strategy of "removing the false and storing the truth, and extracting the essence from the rough", and adhere to the real high-quality teaching theories and methods. In particular, Mr. Sun Weigang's overall teaching concept has greatly inspired me, and after continuous exploration and practice, I have gradually formed an overall teaching style in my teaching.
In the process of junior high school mathematics teaching, there is often such a situation, when some knowledge points are deepened, the follow-up content is written into the next topic or even the next textbook, which will often cause the separation of mathematics teaching, resulting in insufficient systematic mathematical knowledge of students, and it is difficult to form an effective relationship between new and old knowledge points. Therefore, according to the cognitive laws of junior high school students, combined with the vertical and horizontal relationship between knowledge points, I use mind maps to realize the overall grasp and overall arrangement of mathematics teaching through the overall teaching of the unit, and realize the teaching effect of seeing trees. The knowledge structure of students in unit learning is more prominent, and the application process pays more attention to flexibility, getting rid of the phenomenon of knowledge fragmentation, memory confusion, and mechanical application in class learning. At the same time, through sub-module teaching, students can clearly feel that the unit knowledge is holistic and systematic, and can be transformed, transferred and transitioned between unit knowledge, and a main line can be sorted out in the unit teaching to achieve the learning process from the whole to the part and then to the whole. In the teaching process, it can also cultivate students' independent learning ability and cooperative learning ability, so that students can master scientific learning methods, avoid problem sea tactics, improve students' overall mathematical literacy, and realize the transformation from knowledge teaching to ability teaching.
In the municipal topic "Experiment and Research on the Teaching Mode of Mathematics Classroom in Junior High Schools of "Inquiry - Subject Participation" mentioned earlier, we summarized the three basic classroom teaching modes of "Concept Class", "Formula Theorem Class" and "Exercise Class", and summarized a basic operation process for each lesson type. This process is not designed casually, we have carried out a lot of repeated experiments, combined with modern teaching theory, after repeated discussions before finally determined. This has played a good role in leading many young teachers to participate in the quality class competition in the urban area. Using this teaching model, later 5 people in our mathematics group won the first prize of the Zibo Quality Class Competition, and two of them won the first prize of the national prize.
As a young mathematics teacher, if you want to grow into an excellent backbone teacher, you must pass the three levels of "research, research, and research".
03 Courage to innovate
Teaching practice can not only stay in imitation of others, on the basis of learning from others, we must be good at reflection and dare to innovate. Innovation can be a teaching method, a teaching evaluation or a teaching method, or even a teaching theory.
In September 1995, when I was still teaching at the factory and mine school, the school underwent a major teaching reform. The school gives the classroom teacher a certain degree of autonomy in the evaluation of students' academic performance. Finally, the usual grades (accounting for 20%) are organically combined with the mid-term (30%) and final grades (50%) to constitute the academic performance of students. Inspired by the "Guess the Riddle" activity of the Park Lantern Festival, I began to introduce teaching evaluation into daily teaching, using the "integral assessment method" to evaluate students' usual grades, injecting new connotations into the scores and strengthening the evaluation and regulation of the teaching process. The score here is in the form of a "score card", and the score is determined by 0. 1 to 1 point, as a tool for the usual instant evaluation of students' learning activities in each lesson. The "Scorecard" is retained by the student and counted twice a semester. We know that if the goal is close at hand, it can arouse people's strong desire to pursue the goal, because the score card used in the real-time evaluation is mainly used as an affirmation and appreciation for students to master, understand and apply a certain knowledge, it runs through the whole process of teaching, so that students have a close-to-eye pursuit of goals in each class, thus stimulating students' strong enthusiasm for learning, and received good results. This experiment has received good teaching results in teaching. My experimental report was recommended to participate in the paper selection of the Fifth National Junior High School Mathematics Teaching Annual Conference, won the first prize, and was invited to make a typical speech at the annual meeting. At the same time, it also won the first prize of Shandong Provincial Teaching Achievements.
This teaching innovation is a unique secret of mine, whether it is teaching in ordinary times or going out to give open classes, I will use it wherever I go. The more you use it, the more flexible it is, and the more you use it, the more perfect it is. I was transferred to the first semester of Zibo Eighteenth Middle School, and it was in this way that I turned a class with the first to last grade into the second in the positive number of the grade department.
The third volume of the nine-year compulsory education three-year junior high school geometry textbook P207 has a thinking question in the "Think About It" column:
As shown in Figure 1, if the circumference of ⊙O is 20πcm, the perimeter of ⊙ A and ⊙ B is 4πcm. Cause ⊙ A to scroll along the ⊙O within the ⊙O and ⊙ B to scroll ⊙O on the outer edge of the ⊙O. ⊙ B turns 6 weeks to return to its original position, while ⊙ A only needs to turn for 4 weeks to return to its original position. Think about why?
This issue has attracted everyone's attention since the first meeting with teachers and students in October 1994. Since then, various mathematical newspapers and periodicals have discussed the problem continuously. Some teachers and classmates believe that the answers provided by textbooks and teaching reference books are wrong, and even accuse textbooks of not making such mistakes. To this end, many editors and teachers use various methods to explain the teaching materials and references, indicating that the conclusions and answers provided in the teaching reference books are correct and not error-free. But the discussions did not end.
After the summer vacation of 2001, the "think about it" in the third volume of the junior high school "Geometry" was missing. Deleted. Maybe it's because it's causing too much trouble for the society, or maybe it's for other reasons. But we think it's a really good question, and it can stimulate people's thinking. Teachers only have difficulty understanding this problem because our teaching methods in the past were too backward, and mathematical experiments were just a model, which was both troublesome and inaccurate. In order to solve this teaching difficulty that has plagued everyone for many years, together with teacher Liu Tongjun, I jointly used geometric drawing boards to produce the courseware "Exploring the Mystery of Rolling Circles", so that this problem can be solved, and the demonstration with "Geometric Drawing Boards" is intuitive, convincing and clear at a glance. This courseware participated in the 2002 Shandong Provincial Excellent Courseware Competition and won the first prize.
From 2008 to 2012, together with Teacher Liu Tongjun, I jointly undertook the provincial 13th Five-Year Plan project "Research and Experiment on the Content and Acquisition Method of The Experience of Basic Mathematical Activities of Junior High School Students", and innovatively proposed the biological model of mathematics "four bases": the "double basis" of mathematics is like the xylem of woody plants, which is the main content of students' mathematical knowledge. The experience of basic mathematical activities is equivalent to the formation layer that plays a key role in the growth of woody plants, which in the process of learning both continuously grows into new double bases and affects future mathematical activities. It is particularly emphasized here that, just as the xylem of a plant is formed by the splitting of the formation layer, the mathematical double basis is also derived from the experience of mathematical activity, without which the mathematical double basis cannot be produced. Mathematical activity is equivalent to the bark, which is the part of the student's contact with life, the source of knowledge, and all the experience of mathematical activity is generated in the activity. The basic mathematical idea is equivalent to the "pulp" of the plant, which relies on the double base, stores the nutrition of the double base, and continuously provides this nutrition to the learner, so that the learner's process of learning mathematics is full of vitality.
This kind of innovation belongs to theoretical innovation. The experimental report was highlighted in "Mathematics Education in China" in the form of a special article of this journal. It has been recognized by peers across the country. This theory coincides with the teaching proposition of "growth mathematics" by the teacher on the first floor of Nanjing Bu.
In 2014 and 2018, together with Teacher Li Qiang, I completed two innovative projects of the Zibo Municipal Education Bureau, both of which won the first prize.
Any teaching innovation needs to be seriously "done".
04 Be good at expression
To put it bluntly, to be good at expression is to express one's own teaching practice and thinking in the form of a thesis.
There are usually two main criteria for evaluating teachers: one is the quality of teaching; the other is the results of teaching and research. Among them, teaching and research is the essence, the publication of papers is the carrier, and improving the quality is the purpose. The former is a comprehensive assessment of your teaching ability, which is the foundation of your foothold and the way of survival; the latter is a comprehensive reflection of your teaching and research ability and academic level, and it is the development path of your business growth and progress. Survival and development are mutually premised; teaching and research, dialectical unity, both are indispensable. As a mathematics teacher, combined with his own work reality, he carries out some education and teaching research, which is not only conducive to improving the quality of education and teaching, but also an effective way to improve the quality of his own business theory. Whether the leader likes it or not, we math teachers should understand this truth in our hearts. To be honest, our work is really not for any leader.
From the first year of my work, I developed the habit of keeping a diary, sometimes as a chore in life and sometimes as a reflection on teaching. For a while, students and I were able to exchange diaries with each other. In my diary at the beginning of my work, I still kept a record of students correcting typos for me. From the time I fell in love, the diary could not be made public to the students. Thinking about it now, the habit of journaling must have been helpful for me to publish papers and other articles in the future.
Since I published my first article in the Journal of Zibo Teachers College in 1986, I have published more than 300 articles in various newspapers and magazines. There are more than 100 educational papers in education alone. The topics of the articles I have written are all from teaching practice. From the hot spots of curriculum reform to classroom teaching practice, from listening to lectures and evaluating lessons to teaching reflection, from textbook research to learning method guidance, from the appreciation of middle exam questions to the wrong interpretation of attribution, these are all my concerns. Thinking about a problem to a certain extent, there is a desire to express, and there is a feeling of not spitting out unhappiness. I also submitted a variety of magazines, such as "Secondary School Mathematics Teaching Reference", "Chinese Mathematics Education", "Secondary School Mathematics", "Mathematics Teaching", "Mathematics Teacher", "Mathematics Teacher", "Mathematics in Primary and Secondary Schools", "Mathematics Magazine in Secondary Schools", "Shandong Education", "Jilin Education" and so on. After writing for a long time, I became familiar with the editors of the magazine.
Conclusion
I remember that in a teaching forum in Yangzhou, Jiang Hongyan, a special teacher in Jiangsu Province, once shared a couplet with teachers: "The ruthless years increase and decrease, and the taste of poetry and books is bitter and sweet." The ruthless years increase and decrease, this sentence is too good, the years see the increase day by day, but in fact, the days we can have are also decreasing day by day, talking about our short life. The poetry book of the lower link is a kind of benevolent person seeing the wisdom of the wise, not necessarily a poetry book, should refer to more things, life is short, to learn to work hard, struggle, this process is bitter, but after the effort, there is always a moment of bitterness. In teaching, I share couplets with my students, and some people think of line segments, yes, human life has a beginning and an end like a line segment; some people think of area, and some people think of volume. Yes, we cannot change the length of life, but we can increase the breadth and thickness of life to enrich our lives. As a math teacher, how can we enrich our lives and make our work more meaningful? That is, it is necessary to integrate "emotions, attitudes, values" and "mathematical culture" into teaching, so as to form the unique disciplinary temperament of our mathematics teachers.
Subject temperament is the teacher's proficiency in the basic knowledge and basic skills of the subject he teaches, and the beauty of the spirit and culture that naturally overflows in him on the basis of the internalization of the essence and spirit of the discipline, and the beauty of human nature and passion that is accumulated from the inside out. Mathematics teachers should have a unique mathematical temperament, and the real mathematical temperament comes from mathematical culture. Therefore, we should be diligent in learning, sensitive to practice, brave in innovation, good at expression, and use the unique cultural atmosphere of mathematics to cultivate ourselves and benefit students.
Finally, I would like to share my growth message to young teachers:
• A teacher is an educator first and a subject teacher second.
• Every job is hard, and teaching is just one of many ordinary professions.
• Today's you originated from your efforts three or five years ago, and tomorrow's you depends on how hard you work today.
• A teacher without reading can never have a foundation in the classroom.
• Only if you respect your profession can you be respected by others.
• Be a person with a dream. A person with a dream has the passion to struggle. Teachers have to dream, because in front of you is a group of children with unlimited possibilities.
• Teaching is not the whole of your life, your life can be more exciting.
• The education of the future will change drastically, and only continuous learning can have a place.
