I watched the dubbed version of the 2D Chinese, but I wouldn't complain about the sound of TFboys.
French fairy tales, French animated films, and what I saw was almost an American cartoon. Although I have seen the original book, I don't think the film should be completely faithful to the original. However, if the adaptation has lost the temperament of the original book and become another story, why should it also name itself the original?

Another classic fairy tale, Peter Pan, also has a related film, In Search of Neverland, about the creation of "Peter Pan" by James Matthew Barry, which embellishes fairy tales and explains Peter Pan's prototype and the author's creative intentions very clearly. Although it is not called "Peter Pan", it is very Peter Pan; and the movie "The Little Prince" is not a small prince.

The main story of this "Little Prince" is very similar to the American family drama, the protagonist is a little girl who is arranged by her parents and lives in a step-by-step manner, she inadvertently becomes friends with the author of "The Little Prince", is inspired to abandon the boring life and find the nature of the child. Later, she met the little prince of the winged angel who had fallen into the mortal world, he had grown up and disappeared from everyone, and he only promised and worked diligently for others. The girl wakes up and rescues him. The positive energy in the film is bursting, and it is full of love praise like "Mind Agent". The painting style of its main characters is even more American, the little girl's mother and Queen Elsa in "Frozen" are like long-lost sisters, the little girl also has a smooth and round face and big eyes that flash with wisdom, how to look at it is not French, at most it is French-American, the director is American, it is no wonder. (To be fair, the little prince author's grandfather's house and back garden in the film are still very French-style, warm and colorful and bright and naughty)

In fact, such an adaptation can be understood. After all, the story of the original is too ethereal and abstract, the original is made into an animation, and the audience can only be fans of the original, not to mention children, even many adults will feel dull. The adapted works are less of France's arrogant literary and artistic style, more of the American family atmosphere, close to the people, and the audience is naturally wider. But I always feel a little deceived, like I ordered the red wine baked snail in the advertisement, and the result was red wine with wheat fragrant fish, and the second half of the film tells the story of the little prince when he grew up, and it is like an extra Gift of Zuo Zongtang Chicken - a "Chinese food" that does not exist in China but is popular in the United States.
The first half of the story destroys the French van I expect in my heart, and the second half of the story breaks the heart of a girl who I don't want to grow up. I don't know how many people can accept the assumption that the little prince will grow up. What kind of evil capitalist society will make the little prince grow up, Peter Pan grow up, and Mike Jackson grow up? What about the "your age is unchanged, my soul is young, and I don't count the years by relying on my feelings"? What do we say about "racing with neon with a pure face"?.Now we drink late at night, and the cups touch together, and it is the sound of broken dreams.
However, I have to admit that the little prince's growing up setup is a bold attempt, but in the next childish heart, uncle can tolerate, aunt can not tolerate.

Despite all this dissatisfaction, I would like to say that this movie must be seen! Because there is still a small part of it that belongs to the fairy tale "The Little Prince", which is the correct style of the little prince in my heart, born from the author's own illustration of Saint Exupéry himself. The characters and scenes in the film highlight the texture of the paper, the picture is warm and simple, not saying the lines are poetic, and when the lines are said, they are even more tearful. Such a picture, although it is a glimpse, is enough. Thank you from the bottom of your heart to the director.

Nowadays, European cinema is in decline, and some European films have to cater to the tastes of audiences who have been tuned by Hollywood, and even animation is not spared. I remember watching a French cartoon "Miya Miguren" many years ago, and the painting style borrowed from the straightforward and rough brushwork of French Fauvist painting, with a strong style. I was thinking that The art of painting in Europe is rich in rich and diverse genres, so why not try to integrate the style of painting into cartoons? (But I don't think I should be so harsh, after all, the director of "The Little Prince" is American.) This main style of painting is American and the "Little Prince", unlike the little prince who grew up in the film, lost his personality and integrated into the vast public. And the beautiful planet he once lived on was a wasteland.
Goodbye, little prince.
