White-haired ju xi shu, qing name zhen dabang. Loyalty is like the moon, and the mighty qi sweeps the Yangtze River. Would you rather die with a severed head, and ann can bend your knees? The old man of Bazhou is even more unparalleled in the world.
The protagonist of this poem is the general Yan Yan, who has made countless military achievements under Liu Zhang, and is a military general with a very high military value during the Three Kingdoms period. After Liu Zhang surrendered, Yan Yan, who intended to martyr the country with his body, was moved by Zhang Fei's enthusiasm and true disposition, and joined Liu Bei's camp.
While everyone was waiting to see Yan Yan under Liu Bei's command being able to add wings like a tiger and show his might, Yan Yan seemed to disappear and was no longer so outstanding. What is the reason for the absence of a great general?? The following are my personal opinions.

When we first understand the reasons why Yan Yan's heroic style is no longer there, we should first understand Yan Yan's battle achievements.

Yan Yan served as a Taishou under Liu Zhang, and he was a god-like Taishou. First, Yan Yan has a super ability to mobilize and rebuild. It is easy to get the economy of a first-tier city to take off, but it is very difficult to transform an eighteen-tier city into a second- and third-tier city. During the period of Yan Yanren's taishou, no matter how ruined the city was, no matter how low-quality his subordinates were. Under yan yan's governance, a large number of high-quality soldiers can be recruited in a short period of time and pushed straight to the upper limit of the city.
At the same time, as a military general, Yan Yan's combat effectiveness is also "very capable of fighting", and it is not an exaggeration to describe it as a blowout. Defeating the strong with the weak is the dignity of a military general, and it is also what Yan Yan is best at. Yan Yan is willing to endure hardships, very protracted, and can use months to fight against an enemy with superior strength, and use time to squeeze the enemy out.
Yan Yan attacked countless cities for Liu Zhang, conquered Jianning Yunnan within five years, burned the fire under Jiangling Castle, and then sent troops from Chaisang to attack Jiangxia. Yan Yan also fought countless fierce enemies, Ma Teng and Zhang Lu were not his opponents, and also drove Cao Cao to Yuan Shao's territory...
In 211, Liu Zhang, not heeding Yan Yan's advice, welcomed Liu Bei into Shu. End of 212. After Liu Bei's original form was revealed, he began to attack Liu Zhang, and Yan Yan stubbornly defended Jiangzhou. In 214, Yan Yan met with Zhang Fei, Liu Bei's supporter, and was defeated by Zhang Fei with a ruse. In the face of Zhang Fei's large knife, Yan Yan was tenacious and unyielding, zhang Fei was moved by it, treated Yan Yan with courtesy, and Yan Yan surrendered to Liu Bei.

Why did Yan Yan not make achievements after the surrender, I personally believe that there are the following reasons.

First, Yan Yan is not without achievements, but his achievements are relatively small. It is recorded in the speech that Yan Yan and Huang Zhong fought Zhang Guo at Tiandang Mountain, and Yan Yan personally beheaded Xiahou De, who was at the top of the force. Then, Cao Cao's army pressed the border, and Zhuge Liang, as a military, made a new deployment. He let Zhang Fei, who was originally in the town guard, go against Zhang Guo, and let Yan Yan transfer to the town guard.
Yan Yan only shifted from the front of the charge to the rear of the town guard, but this does not mean that Yan Yan did not achieve anything, but the opportunity to "show his face" became less and became a behind-the-scenes staff. The work of guarding the town is equally important, and if a house is not swept, why sweep the world. Yan Yan slightly "converged" a little compared to the early days when his combat effectiveness exploded, not that the world had spread that there was no achievement, and the tombstones and bureaus commemorating Yan Yan could testify.
Second, Yan Yan was not reused in Liu Bei's military camp and had no place to play. Liu Bei's camp hid the dragon and Crouching Tiger, there was Zhuge Kongming, who was strategic, and Zhao Yun Zhangfei, who charged into the battlefield, and Yan Yan, who did not perform well at the beginning, was much inferior in comparison. Yan Yan was captured by Zhang Feisheng, although Zhang Fei used some small schemes, but in the eyes of others, the results were the same.
Yan Yan, who fell off the horse after only one move, was put on the hat of no longer being mighty at that time. There are many excellent fierce generals, and Liu Bei naturally ignores Yan Yan. Huang Zhong, who also surrendered halfway, opened differently from Yan Yan. Although he was also a loser, Huang Zhong fought with the famous general Guan Yu for three days and three nights, which was enough for others to see his strength, and finally became one of the five tiger generals.
Third, when a person reaches the twilight of his life, he will change to a new Lord, and he has no effective heart. Yan Yan's life has been spent in the shadow of the sword and light, the middle-aged majesty is majestic, widely respected by the people, the monarch is valued, fame and fortune are available, can be described as a winner in life. Twilight was defeated by the enemy in one move, which also brought a great blow to Yan Yan's heart. He surrendered because of Zhang Fei's true disposition, not because of the Shu kingdom. Yan Yan's life has experienced various ups and downs, and there have been major setbacks to the highest point.
He had long looked down on the battlefield and only wanted to spend the rest of his life behind the scenes. Huang Zhong was different, he was not reused by the old lord, and Liu Bei was his Bole. Therefore, he had both the strength and the heart to charge for Liu Bei, and also established a lot of merit.
Yan Yan's life has been prosperous and uneven, and fighting or not fighting is his mental journey and his life choice. In the wind and water under Liu Zhang, Liu Bei's quiet men can also glimpse Yan Yan's loyalty to the old lord, and Yan Yan after returning to Shu has served his own strength between the two lords.
What do you think of Yan Yan?
