The 2021 Precision Medicine Industrialization (Shanghai) Summit Forum came to a successful conclusion!
The "2021 Shanghai International Biomedical Industry Week" co-sponsored by Shanghai Biomedical Industry Promotion Center and other institutions was held on October 11-14, 2021. As one of the key activities of Shanghai International Biomedical Industry Week, this year's summit forum was held on October 12, 2021 in Nanxiang Town, Jiading District.
The purpose of the Shanghai International Biomedical Industry Week is to strengthen domestic and foreign exchanges and cooperation in the biomedical industry, accelerate the effective integration of innovation, industry and capital, promote the construction of a world-class biomedical industry cluster, and promote the high-end, intelligent and international development of Shanghai's biomedical industry, guided by the Shanghai Biomedical Industry Development Leading Group.
Precision Medicine Industrialization (Shanghai) Summit Forum is based on Jiading, radiating Shanghai, facing the world, focusing on the new trends of new technologies, new models, new fields and cross-border integration and development of the life science industry, with the theme of "wisdom leading, digital innovation, and digital opportunities of precision medicine", driven by the needs of industry and enterprises, integrating functions such as "forum, display, docking, exchange," and striving to promote development into a communication, sharing and development platform with world influence. Academician Jin Li said that Fudan University has been actively promoting the development of precision medicine in China, and it is based on this original intention that Fudan University and Jiading District have jointly built the Shanghai (Nanxiang) Precision Medicine Industrial Park, and under the impetus of the industry-university-research mechanism, the park has ushered in great development. It is hoped that all parties can join hands to enhance exchanges and cooperation between each other, explore the realization path of digitization, intelligence and personalization of precision medicine, and jointly contribute to the cause of China's health.
Zhang Hongtao, chief engineer, said that in recent years, Shanghai has fully served the implementation of the national strategy and focused on promoting the biomedical industry as the city's "three leading industries". Jiading District is focusing on the landing and transformation of the core links of precision medicine and accelerating the high-quality development of the regional biomedical industry. As the lead department of the Shanghai Biomedical Industry Development Leading Group Office and the city's biomedical industry promotion department, the Municipal Economic Informatization Commission will, as always, provide good services for enterprises, support enterprises to make full use of the latest policies, make every effort to promote institutional innovation and first-movers, continuously optimize the industrial ecological environment, promote the high-quality development of Shanghai's biomedical industry, and jointly contribute to the benefit of human life and health.
Lu Zufang, member of the Standing Committee of the Jiading District Cpc Committee and deputy secretary of the party group of the district government, said that the biomedical industry is an important pillar of Shanghai's strategic emerging industries. Shanghai's biomedical industry has a "1+5+X" spatial layout, Shanghai (Nanxiang) Precision Medicine Industrial Park has been listed as a number of characteristic industrial carriers for key cultivation, Jiading, as an important bearing area of Shanghai Science and Technology Innovation Center, has made every effort to promote the development of precision medicine industrialization in recent years. Through in-depth cooperation with Fudan University and other universities, Nanxiang has gathered a number of high-end scientific research institutions and enterprises in the field of precision diagnosis, preventive treatment and rehabilitation with the Shanghai (Nanxiang) Precision Medicine Industrial Park as the carrier. Jiading District will fully assume the role of "shop small two", with the best business environment, the largest development platform and the best service guarantee, and work together with the park to create a new glory of the precision medicine industry.
On the eve of the forum, the finals of the 2021 Nanxiang Precision Medicine International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition were successfully held, and the winning projects from Shanghai, Hangzhou, Shenzhen, Beijing and Suzhou gathered in Nanxiang, Shanghai. After fierce competition, Beijing Compmet (targeted complement inhibitor project) won the overall championship of this competition. Under the joint witness of the audience, Mr. Tang Xiaolin, member of the Standing Committee of the Jiading District Cpc Committee, Ms. Wu Xuefen, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and mayor of Nanxiang Town, and Dr. Sun Pengjun, executive dean of the Ningbo Research Institute of Fudan University and chairman of the Shanghai (Nanxiang) Precision Medicine Industrial Park, presented awards and took a group photo for the representatives of the winning projects. It is reported that since the official launch of this competition in June, the response has been enthusiastic, and more than 100 high-quality projects in the field of precision medicine have been collected to participate in the competition. A large number of high-level talents and innovation and entrepreneurship teams have emerged, and through the platform of the competition, they have ushered in new development.
In the "Implementation Plan on Promoting the Characteristic Development of Biomedical Industrial Parks" issued in 2020, the Shanghai (Nanxiang) Precision Medicine Industrial Park, the main organizer of the innovation and entrepreneurship competition, has received much attention as one of the "X" characteristic industrial carriers. In 2020, Jiading District promoted and licensed 19 characteristic industrial parks, and Shanghai (Nanxiang) Precision Medicine Industrial Park was among them. Xiaomeiyuan, the expansion area of the industrial park, has also developed rapidly in just one year, ushering in a number of high-quality projects, further broadening the development space of the park and injecting new momentum into the development of regional industries.
Subsequently, the keynote speech session of the forum was officially opened. Xu Tian, Vice President of Westlake University, Li Yixue, Director of Shanghai Bioinformatics Research Center, Lin Xinhua, Dean of School of Life Sciences of Fudan University, Li Shaochun, General Manager of Watson Health of IBM Greater China, and Ling Shaoping, CEO of Sinovis (Beijing) Gene Technology Co., Ltd., made keynote speeches around the theme of the forum "Digitalization and Intelligent Future of Precision Medicine", and multi-level cross-border integration injected new ideas into industrial innovation.
The roundtable forum was hosted by Chen Jie, founding partner of Yuansheng Venture Capital, Zhu Tongyu, vice president of Shanghai Medical College of Fudan University and director of the Medical Service Professional Committee of Shanghai Modern Service Federation, Yu Baoqing, secretary of the Party Committee of Shanghai Pudong New Area People's Hospital, Luo Li, secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Public Health of Fudan University, Xu Shuhua, distinguished professor of Fudan University, Xia Han, founder and CEO of Yuguo Biology, and Su Zhixi, senior scientific director of Pelican Gene. With the theme of "Industry-University-Research-Medical Integration Ecology and Digital Development of Precision Medicine", the seven industry elites conducted in-depth discussions on the digital innovation of precision medicine, the transformation of industry-university-research and the opportunities and challenges in the development of the industry.
