Wang Yangmingqiang opened a temple ashram, and saw a note on the case of a lonely old monk, and the limit of confidant had arrived

According to wei jun's "Records of Southern China" of the Ming Dynasty, in 1527, the national leaders of Guangxi, Lu Su and Wang Shou, launched a rebellion in Si'en and Tianzhou.

The governor at that time, Yao Wei, could not be pacified, so the imperial court issued an edict appointing Wang Yangming (i.e., Wang Shouren) as the governor of both sides, responsible for quelling the chaos.

In the end, Wang Yangming put down the rebellion on May 13, 1528.

After the quelling of the chaos, Wang Yangming, due to the aggravation of lung disease, hurriedly recommended Xunyang Inspector Lin Fu to replace him, while he begged the imperial court to return to his hometown.

However, without waiting for the approval of the imperial court, Wang Yangming embarked on a journey back to his hometown in Yuyao, Zhejiang, and happened to encounter an ancient temple on the way, so he wanted to go in and worship.

However, when Wang Yangming wanted to enter a room in the temple, he was stopped by the young monk, saying that this was an ashram for high monks in the temple to visit the Buddha, and pilgrims were forbidden to disturb it.

For this statement, Wang Yangming did not believe it, but thought that there was something strange in this room. Therefore, he forced the little monk to open the door and saw that there was a lonely old monk in the room, whose face was the same as his own. Moreover, there was also a note on the case table, which read: Fifty-seven Years wang Shouren, Qi Wu Key, Whisk My Dust. Ask the king if you want to know the future.

A few days later, the 57-year-old Wang Yangming did indeed respond to the note and died of illness.

At the same time, in the Ming Dynasty Zhang Dai's "Fast Garden Daogu", there is also a similar record: fifty years ago, Wang Shouren, opening the door is the person who closes the door. After the spirit was stripped and returned, he believed that the Zen Gate was not bad.

So, is this thing credible?

Let's first take a look at what kind of classics these two works are.

There are two volumes of "Zhaonan Trivia", which was collected for the Fujian Inspector, but it often recorded miscellaneous things, which was a novelist genre.

"Fast Garden Daogu" is a work imitating "The New Language of the World", with a wide range of materials, rich content, concise writing, and witty laughter everywhere.

So, what kind of book is "The New Language of the World"?

"The New Language of the World" is a representative work of "note novels" in the Wei and Jin Dynasties, the Southern and Northern Ming Dynasties, and is also a collection of Wenyan Zhiren novels written during the Southern Dynasty and the Song Dynasty.

Therefore, both the "Zounan Trivia" and the "Kuaiyuan Daogu" belong to the novel genre classics, and the content of their records is not highly credible.

Besides, at that time, Wang Yangming's physical condition was already very bad, and he was very worried that he would die in a foreign country, so he hurried back to his hometown without waiting for the reply of the imperial court, where was the kung fu and spirit to go to the ancient temple to toss it?

As a result, Wang Yang Mingzhen could not wait to return to his hometown, so he left a sentence : "This heart is bright, and what is the word!" He died in a boat in Qinglonggang, Da geng County, Anfu Province, Jiangxi Province (in present-day Dayu County, Jiangxi Province).

Therefore, it is almost certain that there is not much credibility about the deeds of Wang Yangming recorded in the "Records of The Trivia of Yaonan" and the "Ancient History of the Fast Garden".

Wang Shouren, a native of Yao County, Shaoxing (Fu), Zhejiang, was nicknamed Yun, Zi Bo'an, and nicknamed Yangming. Because he once built a burrow in Yangmingdong, HuijiShan, he called himself Yang Mingzi. He was a famous thinker, writer, philosopher and military figure of the Ming Dynasty, and a master of Lu Wang's xinxue, who was proficient in Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism.

Japan's Meiji era "god of war" Togo Heihachi: "a lifetime of bowing one's head to worship Yang Ming"; modern Chinese scholar Hu Zheshiki: In the past five hundred years, only two people can express their learning in their careers, one is Wang Shouren of the Ming Dynasty, and the other is Zeng Guofan of the Qing Dynasty...
