The rescue was difficult due to the uncooperativeness of the woman who had fallen into the water, and he pushed her to the shore with all his strength. At this time, he was frozen, physically exhausted, slumped on the shore, and finally the villagers half-carried it before returning home, and the high fever lay on the bed for several days before the fever subsided.
In the winter of 1992, the wife of Wang Chenglin, a villager in Zipo Town, Laiwu City, fell into the water at Qingyun Lake, and when Zhao Li went into the water to rescue the people who fell into the water, the people who fell into the water were already frozen and afraid of unconsciousness. He plunged into the water and fished the woman up. In 2012, Cao Mou of Lixian Village in Wennan Town went to Qingyun Lake to bathe after drinking alcohol, and drowned because he could not swim. When Zhao Li arrived at the scene, the firefighters and public security officers had been fishing for more than an hour and had not been fished. He waited for the water to clear up a little, pricked a few fierce men, and found the people and fished them up.
In 2017, Li Zaijun of Ganlutang Village stayed under the water for six days due to drowning in swimming, and Zhao Li also participated in the salvage for six days, and the body was already decomposing and smelly when it floated up, and he also dragged the body ashore together.
Since the age of 17, Zhao Li has used his good swimming skills to start a volunteer public welfare undertaking at Qingyun Lake. For decades, he has stepped forward again and again, regardless of his own safety, jumped into the water to save people, never charged any fees, and never coveted a little benefit, because he felt: helping others, saving people water and fire is the fine traditional virtue of the Chinese nation, no matter who meets it, they should take the initiative to do it.
