On the morning of September 14, in the Wenyuan Pavilion of the library of Chengbei Middle School in Fogang County, Li Shanshan, a geography teacher, led the seventh grade (fourth) class to carry out extracurricular reading to understand the causes of the earthquake and explore the impact of crustal movement on the terrain.

Li Shanshan graduated from Shaoguan University majoring in geography science and is a junior high school geography teacher at Chengbei Middle School in Fogang County.

"Learn the geographical knowledge in life, see the world with a geographical eye", Li Shanshan has always been very interested in geography, usually likes to travel, and will often pay attention to and understand the local customs and customs of various places and related geographical knowledge. When it comes to the study of geography, Li Shanshan hopes that students can use geographical knowledge to answer geographical problems in life through learning geography knowledge.
In the classroom, Li Shanshan often uses her own personal experience as a learning content to share, using photos from travel, various documentary videos and other materials to explain, to stimulate students' interest and love in geography. When teaching this lesson in the Qinghai-Tibet region, Li Shanshan showed the students the photos of the yak specially taken during the trip, and their interest in learning was immediately raised, and the relationship between the external characteristics of the yak and the natural environment of the area where it grew was naturally imparted to the students. Through this teaching method, students' interest in geography subjects has also increased.
In her daily teaching, Li Shanshan actively studies teaching materials, pays attention to teaching design, and then teaches in a way that students can accept and understand. For example, in the process of telling the knowledge of the globe, the space thinking of the seventh grade students is not good enough, and the concept of longitude and latitude lines and latitudes cannot have a concrete and comprehensive understanding, Li Shanshan will put the teaching aids such as the globe in front of the students, so that everyone can more intuitively understand the initial concept of geographical space. By playing a video animation of the earth's movement, students can better understand the laws of the earth's movement and the phenomena it produces.
"Considering that seventh-grade students generally think that geography is more difficult, I only have to spend some time and thought on teaching design, so that students can cultivate their interest in learning while reading maps, listening to experiences, and doing games, stimulate students' motivation for independent learning, and let them understand the world with a geographical perspective." Li Shanshan said.
Assiduously study the teaching and research business
In her work, Li Shanshan studied the business assiduously, with solid professional theoretical knowledge, strong teaching ability, and remarkable teaching achievements. In March this year, Li Shanshan was hired as a "part-time teaching and research member of the geography department of Fogang County Junior High School" and "member of the teaching and research center group of geography discipline of Fogang County Junior High School", and actively participated in the county-level project of geography in Chengbei Middle School, "Research on the Cultivation of Junior High School Geography Practice Based on the "Activity" column", focusing on how to use the "Activity" column in the textbook in actual teaching to cultivate students' innovative awareness and practical ability in the geography classroom. Since teaching, Li Shanshan has participated in various selection activities and competitions, and has won a total of 24 awards and honors, and has won the national excellent lesson example, the second prize of the municipal teacher's basic skills competition, the first prize of the municipal teaching ability competition, and the county outstanding teacher.
As one of the branch committees of the party branch of Chengbei Middle School, Li Shanshan has completed the organizational work conscientiously and excellently, actively participated in various party member activities, and played a good pioneering and exemplary role among party members and teachers. In July 2021, on the glorious occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the party, she was named a member of the "Six Excellent" party members in Fogang County.

In the work of educating people, she pays attention to combining the actual situation and age characteristics of students, exploring the laws of education under the new form, taking students as the basis of love, strict requirements, following good examples, and being meticulous.
"Although I have not been a class teacher for a long time, I hope that for students, I will do my best to care for them, when students do not perform well, timely remind and guide them out of the predicament, when students perform well, do not skimp on praise to encourage and praise them to make greater progress." Li Shanshan introduced that as a young teacher, when serving as a class teacher, it is inevitable to encounter some thorny problems and unable to start, whenever she encounters this situation, she will first consider and formulate a response plan, and then seek the help of experienced colleagues, listen to the suggestions and opinions of the seniors, and improve her own coping plan to properly deal with the problem.
As a teacher, Li Shanshan leads by example everywhere, students are subtly educated, she is deeply loved by students and trusted by parents, the class she undertakes is self-motivated, the class cohesion is strong, and she has been rated as a civilized class collective of the school many times.
