On October 6, Wang Xun, a professor at the School of Archaeology and Archaeology of Peking University and a famous archaeologist, died of illness at the age of 72. On the evening of the same day, the official microblog of Peking University also released a tribute text.

According to public information, Wang Xun was born on April 22, 1949 in Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, graduated from the Department of Archaeology of the Department of History of Peking University in 1982, graduated from the Department of Archaeology of Peking University in 1985 with a master's degree, and graduated from the Department of Archaeology of Peking University in 1988.

Wang Xun is the first doctor of archaeology in New China, and has made many achievements in the fields of Archaeology, Field Archaeology and Public Archaeology in Xia Shang Zhou, making important contributions to Chinese archaeology and cultivating the backbone of many archaeological communities.

But in the hearts of many Peking University students, this respectable professor has a very cute other side - Wang Xun was active on peking university forums very early, with the online name "Dou Er Stubborn", gags and jokes, and many people thought he was a young man.

In 2014, Wang Xun went out of the circle - he went to the canteen to eat roast chicken, and after eating, he used bones to spell out a lifelike "humanoid skeleton", applied his professional technique of restoring the remains of the tomb in field archaeology, and finally used pink shrimp slices to surround it with a wreath, and finally sang a song to bow to the "deceased".

As soon as this video came out, it immediately attracted countless retweets and likes, people were impressed by the old professor's cuteness and talent, and some people quipped: "The logic is not right, archaeology should be a complete chicken spelled out in the fragmented wreckage." Wang Xun was thus "internet celebrity" and also accepted an interview with the Peking University Student Union.

In an interview, he recalled that in August 2007, when he led students on archaeological excavations in Lincheng County, Xingtai, Hebei Province, he was reported by the local media as a "firefighting hero" for helping local villagers save a fire in the middle of the night, and the villagers gave them pennants, and after returning to school, they were praised by Peking University.

However, Wang Xun laughed and said that he prefers to pay attention to his identity as an archaeologist, and has also revealed that his health has been poor, but it is still difficult to quit smoking and alcohol, and his work and rest are irregular.

On September 26, Peking University's School of Archaeology and Archaeology also lost another respected old professor: Liu Xu, director of the Xia Shang Archaeology Professional Committee of the Chinese Archaeological Society and a famous archaeologist. Both Liu Xu and Wang Xun were born in 1949 and both died at the age of 72.
