While actively embracing electrification, luxury car company Mercedes-Benz is also continuing to consolidate its dominant position in the field of fuel vehicles.
On April 19, Mercedes-Benz unveiled the 2021 Shanghai International Auto Show with four sub-brands of EQ, Maybach, AMG and G-Class, of which a total of 3 models were launched worldwide, 3 models were debuted in China, and 3 models were listed in China, bringing a diversified product matrix including internal combustion engines, plug-in hybrids, and pure electric models.
Among them, the new EQS pure electric sedan, the new EQB pure electric SUV, the new EQA pure electric SUV, and the Mercedes-Benz VISION AVTR concept car are all unveiled. Mercedes-Benz said that after the release of 3 new pure electric vehicles, 4 new pure electric products based on the EVA platform of large pure electric models will be released in the future.
In terms of fuel vehicles, the new long-wheelbase C-class car ushered in the world premiere at the Shanghai Auto Show, and the new Maybach S 480 4MATIC was officially launched. It is worth noting that both new cars are equipped with Mercedes-Benz's second-generation MBUX intelligent human-computer interaction system, using NVIDIA Xavier chip, 8-core CPU, 512-core GPU, and 16GB DDR4 high-frequency memory.
In addition, plug-in hybrids are also in Mercedes-Benz's technology sequence. Kang Linsong, chairman of the board of directors of Daimler AG and Mercedes-Benz AG, said in a previous interview with the Daily Economic News reporter that at present, in some markets and cities, charging infrastructure has not yet developed to a ubiquitous stage of completeness. Until the vision of "every owner has the freedom to charge anywhere" is achieved, plug-in hybrid models with longer electric range can still play an effective role.
In the auto show, the new generation of E 350 e L plug-in hybrid sedan and sports car was officially launched, priced at 521,900 yuan, and the pure electric mileage of the two new cars under the NEDC working standard was 120 kilometers, with both DC and AC charging methods. In DC fast charge mode, it takes only 1 hour to charge from 0% to 80%.
