Shen Anna (1915-2010) was born in Taixing, Jiangsu Province, in a scholarly family. In January 1935, Shen Anna was appointed by the party to enter the Kuomintang organs to engage in shorthand work. She has been lurking and calmly fighting for 14 years for a long time, and has experienced many exposures to risks, providing our party with high-level insider information on all aspects of the Kuomintang. Shen Anna's experience is a classic example in the history of party intelligence, and she is known as "the person who holds the pulse of Chiang Kai-shek."
Outstanding ability to record 200 words per minute
In 1931, Shen Anna was 16 years old, young and beautiful, and once dreamed of stardom. However, in the autumn of that year, the "918 Incident" broke out in shock. Since then, Shen Anna has no intention of pursuing her dreams, and together with her classmates, she marched and shouted in the streets, publicized the anti-Japanese resistance, and began to embark on the revolutionary road.
In 1934, Shen Anna was admitted to the Shanghai Bingxun Chinese Shorthand School. Here, she learns a skill that no one else can match: she can record 200 words per minute! In an era without recorders and computers, stenographers were the darlings of government leaders.
In January 1935, under the arrangement of the Party Central Committee Special Branch, Shen Anna officially entered the Deliberation Section of the Secretariat of the Zhejiang Provincial Government of the Kuomintang as a stenographer, and began a 14-year underground intelligence career. With a beautiful brush and efficient recording speed, she quickly gained a firm foothold, gained the trust of Zhu Jiahua, the chairman of the Zhejiang provincial government at the time, and collected a lot of important intelligence for the party organization. During this period, she also changed from a fake couple to a real couple with Hua Mingzhi, a liaison officer sent by the party organization, and since then the two have known each other and fought side by side.
In 1937, the Japanese war of aggression against China broke out in full swing, Shanghai and Hangzhou fell successively, and Shen Anna lost contact with the party organization in Shanghai. Subsequently, she found Dong Biwu and Zhou Enlai of the Eighth Route Army's office in Wuhan and accepted an even more difficult task - to enter the Kuomintang Central Party Department to continue to collect intelligence for the party.
He was not afraid of danger, and insisted on collecting intelligence after losing contact with the organization
In May 1938, in accordance with the instructions of the party organization, Shen Anna used her status as an old subordinate to visit Zhu Jiahua. Through Zhu Jiahua's mediation, Shen Anna entered the core organ of the Kuomintang as a stenographer in the Confidential Department of the Central Party Department as a special party member of the Kuomintang. In 1939, Shen Anna joined the Communist Party of China.
Because she was a decent person and skilled in her work, the Confidential Department had great trust and respect for Shen Anna, and she often served as a shorthand writer at the high-level meetings of the Standing Committee of the Kuomintang Central Committee, the Supreme Committee of National Defense, the Central Training Corps, and the Military Commission of the National Government, and had the opportunity to contact Li Zongren, Chiang Kai-shek, and other core Figures of the Kuomintang, and collected a large amount of important intelligence for the party.
The hidden front is free of bullets and bullets, but it is full of danger. In the autumn of 1942, Xu Zhonghang, who was sent by the Southern Bureau of the Communist Party of China to lead Shen Anna, was arrested, and Shen Anna, who faced the test of life and death, was calm and calm, calmly coping with the temptations of Kuomintang agents. But since then, Shen Anna has lost contact with the party organization for three years. Shen Anna recalled: "It was the most difficult period of my life, I stayed in a 10 square meter house, waiting for someone to come and get information every day. What makes me even more sad is that the information I collected had to be destroyed by my own hands because no one came to collect it. ”
Witty, invent shorthand symbols to quickly and accurately convey intelligence
After the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan, Zhou Enlai sent Wu Kejian to get in touch with Shen Anna. According to the requirements of the party organization, Shen Anna focused on collecting the internal considerations of the Kuomintang on the peace talks between the Kuomintang and the Republic of China and the anti-communist arrangements.
To improve efficiency and prevent deciphering, she also invented a set of shorthand symbols. Relying on her own original shorthand symbols, she could sort out two copies of the minutes of the day's meetings in one night, one handed over to the Kuomintang and one transmitted back to our party through underground workers.
In March 1946, Chiang Kai-shek held the Supreme Military Conference to plan the defeat of the main forces of the Eighth Route Army and the New Fourth Army within half a year, and at the meeting, the military deployment and deployment of troops were also determined. These early warning strategic deployment information that our party needed most were carefully recorded by Shen Anna in shorthand symbols and quickly sent to the highest decision-making level of the CPC in Yan'an. Zhou Enlai gave a verbal commendation of "prompt and accurate" to the important information of this period.
In June 1946, Chiang Kai-shek brazenly launched a civil war. At the kuomintang's high-level decision-making meetings, Chiang Kai-shek was not allowed to record any top-secret military and political issues whenever he talked about them. Shen Anna memorized in her mind, taking advantage of the gap between rest to go to the toilet and sketched it on the straw paper. She sorted out all the important meeting contents at the first time and conveyed them to the Party Central Committee as quickly as possible.
Shen Anna has long been engaged in underground intelligence work and has contributed greatly to the revolutionary cause of the Communist Party of China.
In 1949, he was commended by the Collective Order of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.
In 1986, Shock wrote a five-character poem "Invisible Front- Lyrical Nostalgia in Red Rock Village", praising Shen Anna's merits and character.
In 1989, Shen Anna was awarded the Honorary Medal and Honorary Certificate by the Ministry of State Security for the unsung hero who has long contributed to the hidden front.
