"There are wars everywhere in the country, and I want to fight for my dreams"! Syria magic girls or come to China for training

At the table tennis arena of the Tokyo Olympics, the story of Zaza, a 12-year-old girl from syria, who came to Tokyo from her war-torn homeland to compete against many difficulties has recently touched many people. The Chinese Olympic Committee, which learned of this matter, recently took the initiative to issue an invitation for Zaza to come to China for professional training in table tennis.

As the youngest participant in the Olympic Games, the 12-year-old female table tennis player in Syria, Heide Zaza's appearance has attracted much attention. In the first round of the table tennis women's singles tournament on July 24, Zaza challenged The Chinese-Austrian Liu Jia and lost 0-4, regrettably ending her trip to the Tokyo Olympics. In an interview with the media, Zaza said: "I have experienced a lot of different experiences in the past five years, such as wars everywhere in the country, and postponements of the Olympic Games. It's cruel, but I have to get over it, and that's the message I want to convey to everyone in a difficult situation like me – fight for your dreams. Coming to Tokyo for the Olympics was already an amazing achievement in itself, and I wasn't asked to win the title, as long as I did as well as I could. ”

Born into a Syrian family of athletes, Zaza began picking up rackets and learning table tennis at the age of 5, quickly becoming the champion of the Syrian all-age group. In February, Zaza won the West Asia Qualifiers in Jordan, becoming the first table tennis player to pass the qualifiers to the Olympic Games.

Zaza said he was sad and wept after the game: "I wish I could perform better, but I have tried my best. I hope I can win and dedicate my victory to my country. Hopefully, in the 2024 Olympics, I can get stronger and gain something. Her coach also lamented that due to the lack of funds for the competition due to the war in Syria, Zaza has only been able to participate in international competitions at most three times a year in the past few years, which has made her inexperienced in the competition somewhat lacking.

After learning of Zaza's story, the Chinese Olympic Committee took the initiative to lend a helping hand and invited the 12-year-old girl to Come to China to receive professional training in Table Tennis in China to help her improve her strength and achievements. If all goes well, Zaza can go to China as soon as September and train in the world's top table tennis.
