
On September 1, in order to improve the quality and production efficiency of Rugao white radish products and strengthen the competitiveness of the local vegetable industry in Rugao City, the Municipal Vegetable Office held a Rugao white radish seed distribution and technical training meeting, and the professional and technical personnel of various towns (districts and streets) and the responsible persons of the Rugao white radish planting base attended the meeting.
The meeting conducted training on the high-quality and efficient planting technology and field management points of Rugao white radish. Huang Dongmei, director of the Municipal Vegetable Office, stressed that it is necessary to strengthen the exquisite packaging of Rugao white radish and better reflect the value of its products; we must strive to explore new sales paths and realize the diversification of sales channels. The meeting also invited Zhang Peitong, a researcher at the Institute of Economic Crops of Jiangsu Academy of Agricultural Sciences, to conduct on-site training on the development of the Rugao Xiangtang taro industry, new production technologies and post-management technology points. Rugao "100 Days" radish seeds were distributed on the spot.
Since 2010, the Municipal Vegetable Office has carried out research on the purification and rejuvenation of Rugao white radish varieties, and through more than ten years of seed selection and purification and the use of greenhouse insect-proof net isolation and anti-miscellaneous technology to make seeds, it has obtained the germplasm of Rugao white radish varieties with excellent commercial characteristics, consistent agronomic traits and stability, and carried out large-scale promotion and application work, and is committed to improving the professionalization, standardization and standardized production level of the variety, and promoting the industrialization of local characteristic vegetables to a new level.
