Famous schools are hidden in the ancient school
Fujian Normal University Affiliated Middle School and Fuzhou Senior High School are the second of fuzhou's "old eight schools". Different students at different times in the two middle schools may have attended classes and read books in the same two ancient houses. These two ancient houses are the Meizhi Building and Li Auditorium of the former Yinghua Middle School in Yantai Mountain.
In 1881, Zhang Heling, a native of Nan'an, donated 10,000 silver yuan to purchase more than 14,000 square meters of land on Lequn Road in Cangshan to establish Heling Yinghua College, which was later renamed Yinghua Middle School.
Introduction to Meizhi Louli Auditorium
The Meizhi Building of Yinghua Middle School, completed in 1910, is now the library of Fuzhou Senior High School. Western-style three-storey building, one-story basement, colonial coupon gallery style, covers an area of 535 square meters.

Up to 70% of the graduates of Yinghua Middle School were admitted to the university, and outstanding graduates could even enter the famous Yenching University at that time without examination, and trained more than 10 academicians of the two academies such as Hou Debang and Chen Jingrun, and Lin Sen, former chairman of the National Government, and other well-known figures.
Yinghua Middle School is the alma mater of Shen Yuan, director of the Department of Aeronautics at Tsinghua University. On the eve of liberation, Shen Yuan was hired as a teacher of mathematics, physics and English at Yinghua Middle School. In February 1948, Chen Jingrun went to Yinghua Middle School to study, the class teacher was Shen Yuan, once, Shen Yuan talked about the Goldbach conjecture in class, which deeply attracted Chen Jingrun and opened the door of mathematics.

In 1952, Yinghua Middle School was merged into Fujian Normal University Affiliated High School, and the school building was settled by Fuzhou Senior High School. The Meizhi Building and the Li Auditorium are still well preserved today, watching the growth of generations of students.
