Shao was a noble concubine of Emperor Mingxianzong Zhu Jianshen and the grandmother of emperor Zhu Houxi of Jiajing, she gave birth to three princes for Emperor Xianzong, and her son missed the throne, and unexpectedly, her grandson Zhu Houxi inherited the unification, and after too many years of desolation, she was finally able to die well.
01 Give birth to three princes
Shao was a native of Changhua, Zhejiang, and his family was poor at an early age, and was sold by his father Shao Lin to the eunuch of Hangzhou Town, and was later carried into the palace. Shao grew up in the palace, knowing the books and being beautiful.
It is said that she was blessed by Emperor Mingxianzong because of a poem, when Shao Shi did not have the opportunity to see the emperor, and lived in a remote area, so he often wrote poems to relieve his depression.
Once she whispered a poem under the moon, just as XianZong passed by here, she was curious to hear the chanting, and when she walked in and saw a beautiful woman standing in the moonlight, she was momentarily moved, so she was lucky.

After that, Shao was deeply favored by Emperor Xianzong, and in the twelfth year of Chenghua, he gave birth to Zhu Youqiu, the fourth son of Emperor Xianzong, and in the fourteenth year of Chenghua, he gave birth to the fifth son of the emperor, Zhu Youdi, and in the seventeenth year of Chenghua, he gave birth to the eighth son of the emperor, Zhu Youji.
Shao gave birth to three princes for Emperor Xianzong in succession, which is not something that anyone who wants to be born can give birth, which shows how much Shao is deeply loved by Emperor Xianzong.
In the early years of Emperor Xianzong's life, because of Wan Guifei, he had been thin in heirs, and after the death of the eldest son and the second son of the Emperor, he was deeply troubled by the lack of children under his knees, and it was not until the eleventh year of Chenghua that he learned that the Ji clan had given birth to Zhu Youfan for him and hid him in the Anle Hall to raise him. After the father and son recognized each other, Emperor Xianzong made Zhu Youfan crown prince.
From the time Shao gave birth to Zhu Youcang, Emperor Xianzong had 11 sons and 5 daughters in 10 years, entering the peak of child fertility, only one of whom died prematurely, and the rest survived.
Emperor Xianzong was very fond of the emperor's fourth son, Zhu Youfu, and three months after Shao gave birth to the fourth son of the emperor, he made her a concubine.
02 The eldest Zhu Youcang missed the position of prince
Wan Guifei got along well with Concubine Shao and did not like to contradict her crown prince Zhu Youfan.
According to the History of ming, Zhu Youfan was deeply persecuted by Wan Guifei from his mother's womb, and survived nine deaths, and his mother Ji Died violently shortly after he recognized Xianzong. Later, Emperor Xianzong's mother, Empress Zhou, feared that Zhu Youfan would be persecuted by Concubine Wan again, and put him by her side to raise him and protect him.
Wan Guifei's close attendants offered to pass Concubine Shao's son Zhu Youfu to Wan Guifei's room, and then appoint him as crown prince and inherit the throne in the future. In this way, Wan Guifei had no worries in the future, and there was no need to guard the crown prince Zhu Youfan.
If you compare Zhu Youfan with Zhu Youfan, Zhu Youfan seems to have no other advantages except that he was born early. He was not a concubine, nor was he the eldest son, and his mother Ji Shi was still a captive Guangxi barbarian daughter; Zhu Youfan had been hiding in the Anle Hall since childhood, born with insufficient disorders of nature and acquired, his body was always bad, his personality was weak, he lacked the self-confidence that a prince should have, his image was very general, and he looked thin and boneless.
And Zhu Youcang? He has been well nourished since childhood, gifted and intelligent, and systematically educated, with a tall and beautiful appearance, and a loyal and gentle personality. Emperor Xianzong was particularly fond of this son and often taught him to read in person. Compared with his brother, Zhu Youcai was more like the appearance that a king of a country should have.
Wan Guifei did not like Zhu Youfan, naturally in front of Emperor Xianzong, he often put the two princes together to analyze and compare, saying more, Emperor Xianzong really moved his heart.
In the twenty-first year of Chenghua, Emperor Mingxianzong, who was deeply in love with Concubine Wan Guifei, was persuaded to depose Zhu Youfan as crown prince and thus establish zhu Youbi, the fourth son of the emperor, as crown prince.
However, Zhu Youfan had been the crown prince for ten years, and in various celebrations of the imperial court, he appeared frequently as a prince, did not make mistakes, and was raised by Empress Zhou since childhood, and wanted to depose the prince, where would the courtiers and Empress Zhou agree?
Although Emperor Mingxianzong was the king of a country, he did not want to do anything he wanted. For the sake of Yi Chu, he wanted the eunuch Huai'en to use his influence to do ideological work for the courtiers. However, Huai'en was firmly opposed to the replacement of the crown prince and fought with his death, and Emperor Xianzong was furious and demoted him to Fengyang Shouling.
Just when Xianzong was preparing to depose the prince at all costs, the stars of the Spring Festival changed that year, and then there were continuous earthquakes on Mount Taishan in Dongyue, and Xianzong, who had always been superstitious, hurriedly asked god for advice. The warlock told him that the Continuous Earthquake in Dongyue was a sign of the change in the Eastern Palace.
When Emperor Mingxian heard this, he was terrified and did not dare to mention the abolition of the prince anymore. Zhu Youfan was lucky to escape this fate, but Zhu Youfan missed the position of prince and also missed the throne.
In the spring of the twenty-third year of Chenghua, Wan Guifei could not get up in one breath when she reprimanded the palace maid, and she died. When Xianzong heard this, he sighed and said, "Captain Wan has gone, and I should go soon."
In August of the same year, Emperor Xianzong died, and before his death, he made Shao a noble concubine, which was the only noble concubine of the lower Wan clan in the Chenghua Dynasty, because Wan was an imperial concubine.
After the death of Emperor Xianzong, Princess Shao Guifei experienced the 18 years of the Reign of the Hongzhi Emperor Zhu Youfan, and then experienced the 16 years of the reign of the Zhengde Emperor, experiencing life and death separations again and again.
The three sons left the palace one after another and went to the domain, and according to the ancestral system, the imperial concubines were not allowed to follow any of their sons to the domain, and could only stay in the palace. When Zhu Youbi was on his way to Huguang'an Luchangshou County, he suddenly missed his mother Concubine Shao Guifei on the way, and immediately pleaded with him to take his mother to the feudal state for consecration, which was contrary to the usual practice, and Emperor Xiaozong Zhu Youfan did not approve it.
In the fourteenth year of Hongzhi, Zhu Youzu, the King of Qi, died at the age of 24 and had no children, and the feudal state was naturally withdrawn. In the second year of Zhengde, the Yong King Zhu Youyi also died of illness, also childless, and the feudal state was naturally withdrawn. In the fourteenth year of Zhengde, Zhu Youbi died at the age of 44.
03 Grandson Zhu Houxi succeeded to the throne
The three princes of Concubine Shao Guifei died one after another, and she could not go to her son's domain, so she could only shed a handful of bitter tears. Two of the three sons have no descendants, only the eldest Zhu Youbi left a son Zhu Houxi, but in the distant Huguang Anlu, the two grandchildren could not see each other.
Emperor Mingwu Zhu Houzhao died young, because he had no children, and according to the order of the emperor's brother and brother, Zhu Houxi actually became the heir to the imperial throne.
He entered the imperial palace under the escort of the Six Armies and surrounded by many courtiers, and the king of the clan succeeded him. When he first entered the palace, Zhu Houxi knew that this was the place where his father was born and grew up, the place where his father talked to him countless times, and it carried his father's beautiful childhood memories.
In the deep palace, Zhu Houxi had only one relative, that is, his father's mother-in-law and his own grandmother. Immediately after entering the Lord," he went to see his grandmother.
Princess Shao Guifei had been favored by Emperor Xianzong, but before Zhu Houxi met him, she was placed in the Huan Clothing Bureau, when the elderly Concubine Shao Guifei was blind. The Huan Clothing Bureau is a laundry place for confiscated and criminal women, and it is also a place to house concubines who have fallen out of favor.
In her later years, Princess Shao Guifei was abandoned in such a place, which shows how desolate the evening scenery is if the harem women are not relied on, and it is no wonder that before Emperor Ming Yingzong had a system of childless concubines to be martyred for the emperor.
After Zhu Houxi ascended to the throne, the Inner Palace Yamen naturally did not dare to neglect this former concubine and welcomed her into the imperial palace to take care of her.
After Princess Shao Guifei tasted the warmth and cold of the human world, her greatest wish at this time was to meet her grandson, and Zhu Houxi was her only bloodline descendant in the world. I couldn't see my grandson before, but now I can finally see my grandson, but it is gratifying that my grandson has become the current emperor.
When they met, Princess Shao Guifei could only touch it with her hands because she couldn't see it, and she was full of sorrow and joy, and she was in tears, and with those dry and trembling hands, she touched her grandson from head to foot, and then from foot to head.
Zhu Houxian couldn't cry, his father failed to fulfill his duty to serve his mother, so let himself do filial piety for his father, take good care of his grandmother, and no longer let his grandmother be snubbed a little.
Soon, Zhu Houxi honored his grandmother as empress dowager, and his title was Empress Shou'an. His mother, Jiang Shi, later came to the capital and lived in the harem with her mother-in-law, adhering to the path of devotion and getting along well.
After the death of Princess Shao's other two sons, due to the removal of the domain, the daughters-in-law all returned to Beijing to live widowhood, and at this time, they also dipped in the light of their nephew Zhu Houxi and often came to the palace to meet.
Empress Shao experienced vicissitudes and unexpectedly obtained a glorious old age. In order to repay his grandmother's love, Zhu Houxi treated his grandmother's relatives kindly, and rewarded his grandmother's younger brothers Shaoxi and Shao Mao with rich rewards. In addition, he also performed filial piety for his grandmother, and ordered people to rebuild the tomb for his grandmother and father in Hangzhou, which was so magnificent that it was called "Shao Wang's Tomb".
A year and a half after the Jiajing Emperor Zhu Houxi succeeded to the throne, Empress Shao gave up with peace and contentment. Zhu Houxi was very sad, and the funeral ceremony for his grandmother was extremely solemn, and despite the objections of the ministers, he still insisted on burying her grandmother in the Maoling Underground Palace, known as Empress Mingxianzong, for her grandmother to win a posthumous title, and also for herself to fight for orthodoxy.
