At the beginning of the new year in 2021, the Beijing Dance Academy will open the exhibition and broadcast of 100 works celebrating the centenary of the founding of the Party around the theme of "Dancing for the People". All the works on display come from the teaching practices of teachers and students since the establishment of the highest school of dance education in China in 1954.

Dai AiLian and Lotus Dance

Dai Ailian's "Lotus Dance" by Dai Ailian, the first principal of Beiwu, and "Ordos" by People's Artist Jia Zuoguang will be used as the starting lineup, and their video images and interview interpretations will be displayed on the "Learning to Strengthen the Country" learning platform of the Central Propaganda Department, the "Art Headlines" and "Literature and Art China" of the Art Department of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. There will be more than 110 performances in total, covering the creation of various periods, themes and dance genres since the establishment of the North Dance School.

A hundred works have a hundred stories. Take Mr. Dai Ailian and "Lotus Dance", which will be broadcast soon. The creation of this work originated from the creation of the Indian delegation at the beginning of the founding of New China to welcome the Indian delegation to visit China. At that time, Premier Zhou Enlai personally approached Dai Ailian to propose this proposition. Dai Ailian integrated the folk dance form "Lotus Lantern" in Longdong and Northern Shaanxi with the Most Basic Movement Phrase of Chinese Classical Dance, Shunfeng Flag and Round Field, and finally created the unique aesthetic image of "Lotus". The works seem to be minimalist, but they create an elegant, flowing stage image with great traditional Chinese aesthetic connotations, showing the vitality of a "new" China in front of the people of the world.

Jia Zuoguang and Ordos

Particularly touching is that Dai Ailian joined the Chinese Communist Party at the age of 90, saying, "When I was still abroad, I was influenced by the party. At that time, I knew that China's only hope was the Chinese Communist Party. I'm lucky to see the boom today! "Her deep feelings for the party and the motherland are condensed bit by bit in the works of art she creates, spanning centuries and blooming with dazzling brilliance."

Jia Zuoguang's "Ordos" was premiered in 1955. After the founding of New China, he went deep into the Ordos region of Inner Mongolia to transform the movements of the religious dance Chama dance in the temple, and artistically improved the movements of horseback riding and whipping, milking, combing braids and other movements in the life of herders, and finally created the work "Ordos" that praises the new life of the grassland and expresses the new style of the herdsmen.
