On the centenary of the birth of Party history expert Hu Hua, a hundred letters and historical materials are exhibited today

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of Hu Hua, a well-known historian, expert in party history research, and professor of Chinese Min University. This morning, "Life is Struggle- Hu Hua's Centenary Birthday Life and Letters Exhibition" was launched at the Museum of Chinese Min University. Hundreds of letters, as well as precious historical materials such as photos, teaching materials, and books, truly show Hu Hua's life of struggle.

In 1921, Hu Hua was born into a family of clerks in Fenghua, Zhejiang Province. In 1938, he joined the local anti-Japanese salvation movement and founded the progressive newspaper Wartime Masses. Hu Hua sent each issue of "The Masses in Wartime" to Mao Zedong in Yan'an. In October of that year, he went to Yan'an to join the Northern Shaanxi Public School and joined the Communist Party of China the following year. Hu Hua has unswervingly engaged in the teaching and research of Marxist theory, the history of the Chinese revolution and the history of the Communist Party of China throughout his life, and is one of the founders of the discipline of the history of the new democratic revolution and the history of the Communist Party of China.

Located in the adjacent exhibition hall on the second floor of the Museum of Chinese Min University, the exhibition selects precious photographs, teaching materials, research documents, and hundreds of letters left behind by Hu Hua in the war. For example, the "History of China's New Democratic Revolution (First Draft)" edited by him was published and distributed by Xinhua Bookstore in 1950, which was the first book to publicize the history of China's new democratic revolution and the history of the Communist Party of China after the founding of New China, and was selected as a textbook for colleges and secondary schools nationwide, with a circulation of nearly 10 million copies.

The relevant person in charge of Chinese Min University said that Hu Hua has always adhered to the Marxist ideal and belief, always insisted on studying and studying the history and theory of the party, and truly interpreted the life creed of "life is struggle, death is rest".
