This year marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of Hu Hua, a well-known historian, expert in party history research, and professor of Chinese Min University. On the morning of May 6th, "Life is Struggle- Hu Hua's Centennial Birthday Life and Letters Exhibition" was launched at the Museum of Renmin University in Chinese. Hundreds of letters, as well as precious historical materials such as photos, teaching materials, and books, truly show Hu Hua's struggle to spread progressive ideas and cultivate outstanding talents for the party and the country.
In 1921, Hu Hua was born into a family of clerks in Fenghua, Zhejiang Province. In 1938, he joined the local anti-Japanese salvation movement and founded the progressive newspaper Wartime Masses. Hu Hua sent each issue of "The Masses in Wartime" to Mao Zedong in Yan'an and received a handwritten letter from Mao Zedong. Mao Zedong affirmed his role in organizing the masses to carry out anti-Japanese struggles to save the dead. In October of that year, Hu Hua went to Yan'an to study at Northern Shaanxi Public School and joined the Communist Party of China the following year.
Since then, Hu Hua has experienced the historical process of half a century of Shaanxi North Public School, North China United University, North China University, Chinese Min University, and has unswervingly engaged in the teaching and research of Marxist theory and the history of the Chinese revolution and the history of the Communist Party of China, and is one of the founders of the discipline of the history of the new democratic revolution and the history of the Communist Party of China.
Located in the adjacent exhibition hall on the second floor of the Museum of Chinese University, the exhibition selects precious photos, teaching materials, research documents, and hundreds of letters left behind by Hu Hua in the war to entertain the audience. For example, the "History of China's New Democratic Revolution (First Draft)" edited by him was published and distributed by xinhua bookstores nationwide in 1950, which was the first book to publicize the history of China's new democratic revolution and the history of the Communist Party of China after the founding of New China, and was selected as a textbook for colleges and secondary schools nationwide, with a circulation of nearly 10 million copies.
In Hu Hua's letters, his deep feelings for the party and his persistent exploration of truth can be reflected everywhere. In 1978, he and other party history experts began a discussion about truth. Hu Hua and his friends wrote in their correspondence: Study party history with the attitude of seeking truth from facts and testing truth with practice.
The relevant person in charge of Chinese Min University said that Hu Hua's life and belief have always been closely intertwined with the study of the history of the Communist Party of China and the party's educational cause, and he has always adhered to the Marxist ideal and belief, always insisted on studying and studying the party's history and theory, and truly interpreted the life creed of "life is struggle, death is rest". Chinese University, from Shaanxi North Public School, North China United University, and North China University, has always adhered to the party's theoretical education and the issues of the Chinese revolution as a lecture hall, forged a group of people's educators such as Hu Hua, and has also become the first university in China's higher education system to specialize in teaching and researching the history of the Communist Party of China.
