Why did "poetry maniac" He Zhizhang receive unprecedented honors? First, the label of adolescence: lucky two, happy coaching for 27 years, elderly to the late three, lucky and dashing in Kyoto Chang'an "crazy" walk back to four, in the old age with the mentality of an old naughty boy to return home

First, the label of adolescence: lucky

The childhood of "poetic maniac" He Zhizhang was undoubtedly the luckiest, he was born in 659 AD to a well-to-do family in Yuezhou (now Zhejiang). The date of birth coincided with the tenth year after the "rule of Zhenguan" (627-649) of datang, just in time for the rapid social and economic development of datang.

He Zhizhang naturally lived a carefree life in his hometown's adolescence, it can be said that he grew up happily in a favorable environment, did not suffer a little, did not suffer a little tired, and he was sensible since childhood, deeply loved by his parents and relatives, and diligent in studying, when he was a teenager, he was famous for his poetry in the local area, and did not have to worry about the way out in the future.

In a carefree situation, He Zhizhang spent his best youth time.

Unconsciously, He Zhizhang reached the age of 36, it was already the first year of Wu Zetian's holy year (659), and after the imperial examination was resumed, He Zhizhang leisurely left home and went to Beijing to take the exam, writing down extraordinary ambitions:

Jiang Gao smelled the dawn bell and lightly returned the bell.

The sea tide is about at night, and the river dew dissolves in the morning.

The first bird on the sand was seen, and the peak was buried outside the clouds.

The hometown is endless, and the Mingfa is full of friends.

After participating in the scientific expedition in Beijing, He Zhizhang was lucky enough to go to high school in one fell swoop, and became the first recorded Yuanlang in Zhejiang, and successfully obtained the position of Dr. Guozi Simen.

Since then, He Zhizhang has lived comfortably in Chang'an, Kyoto, for fifty years, returning to his hometown at the age of 85 and dying of illness in his hometown at the end of 744 AD. He was the oldest Tang poet, and after his death, Emperor Suzong of Tang posthumously honored him with the title of Rebbe Shangshu.

From He Zhizhang's life, it can be perceived that when he was middle-aged, he was in time for the "Kaiyuan Prosperous Era" (712-741), the most prosperous period of the Tang Dynasty. When the Tang Dynasty was in decline due to the "Anshi Rebellion" (755-763), He Zhizhang was no longer alive.

It can be said that He Zhizhang had a smooth life, a good beginning and a good end, a happy life, and a prosperous Tang Dynasty, and no one was degraded like Li Bai, nor did he encounter a life of displacement and poverty like Du Fu, and he also became a lucky and dashing Tang poet, that is, Lu You, a patriotic poet of the Song Dynasty, who lived a long life, and was slightly inferior.

Second, happily coached for 27 years, and became a late bloomer

At the age of 36, He Zhizhang won his first job as a "Guozi Simen Doctor", which was equivalent to being a teacher at the National Chang'an University.

He Zhizhang, who has a lotte personality, has been working in this post for 27 years, he has never slackened off, he is very dedicated to his post, and he is comfortable and indifferent. In addition to teaching seriously every day, it is to happily "kan dashan" with students.

In the tenth year of the new century (722), the 63-year-old He Zhizhang entered the career path at the recommendation of the prime minister Lu Xiangshan, and was appointed as the shaoqing of the Taichang Temple.

Since then, He Zhizhang, who has been bursting with luck, has walked smoothly and smoothly, which can be described as a lucky person who has become a late bloomer.

Three years later, at the age of 66, He Zhizhang was promoted to the post of Rebbe Waiter and Jixian Academy, and was later transferred to the Post of Minister, The Right Son of the Crown Prince, and The Attendant, and gave the crown prince Li Xiang a personal tutor. After another three years, the 69-year-old He Zhizhang was once again promoted to the post of Prince Guest, Yin Guanglu Doctor and Secretary Supervisor, and a well-deserved provincial and ministerial cadre.

At the age of 85, He Zhizhang, who had achieved fame and fame, returned to his hometown due to old age and illness, and applied to leave Chang'an and become a Taoist priest in his hometown in Yuezhou to spend his old age in peace. Emperor Xuanzong granted permission by decree, and also wrote a gift poem "Sending He Zhizhang to the Four Mings" (2 poems), two of which are: "The Immortal Inscription Golden Basket, The Emperor Zhang's FavorEd Clothing." Quietly inherit the algae, the road is full of brilliance. ”

The crown prince Li Xiang (later Emperor Suzong of Tang) even held the gift of a student and led a hundred officials of wen and military to send He Zhizhang off.

This fortunate experience and honor, among the Tang poets, how many people? He was old enough to give shi, Qingyun straight up, the official residence sanpin, the emperor gave poetry when he retired, the prince led a hundred officials to send, in the long feudal society of more than 2,000 years, I am afraid that there is no precedent before, there is no one after it, the only one!

Third, lucky and dashing in Kyoto Chang'an "crazy" walk once

He Zhizhang called himself "Siming Crazy Guest" in Chang'an, known as "Poetry Maniac", not inferior to Li Bai, a junior who "the Son of Heaven can't come to the ship".

He Zhizhang's "madness" is not only reflected in his "open and uninhibited" road to his career and poetry creation, but also in terms of life, he is still extravagant and free, known as the "clean talk flow" of the world. The Song Dynasty poet Xu Jun once interpreted it in poetry: his career outside the body is always empty, and he swims wildly and dreams into the Qing capital. There is a home that does not live in the view, and the bottom uses a simple lake to find a lake.

From the age of 36 to Chang'an, to the age of 85 to return to his hometown, he lived in Chang'an for 50 years, never let go, never been degraded, fortunately and dashingly in Kyoto long "crazy" walk.

He Zhizhang's "madness" is also reflected in his extreme fondness for drinking, and the famous "Golden Turtle For Wine" tells the story of his wild drinking with Li Bai.

In 742 AD, He Zhizhang was 83 years old, and he happened to meet 41-year-old Li Bai at the Zike Taoist Temple in Chang'an, when Li Bai had a small poetic name, was visiting Princess Yuzhen, and in his job search, he had to meet the great poet He Zhizhang, whom he admired, and he was overjoyed. He Zhizhang had also heard of Li Bai long ago, and the two became "year-old friends" at first sight.

When Li Bai presented his "Wuqi Qu" to the old predecessor He Zhizhang for guidance, He Zhizhang read it and gave a high evaluation on the spot, "This poem can cry ghosts and gods." Li Bai was overjoyed, and then presented his new work "Shu Dao Difficulty" to He Zhizhang Axe Zheng, he Zhizhang read it carefully, and praised Li Bai very much: It seems that you are the Heavenly Taibai Venus who meets who is the next mortal! (Li Bai's name "Who Immortals" comes from this)

He Zhizhang then invited Li Bai to a banquet.

So the two of them were arrogant and dry in the tavern, singing and drinking, and returned drunk. When He Zhizhang paid the money, he found that the wine money had been drunk, so he untied the gold ornament turtle bag around his waist and "paid for it". This "golden turtle" is a jewel given by the royal family according to the rank, and it is very precious. It can be seen that He Zhizhang is extremely interested in Li Bai.

(He Zhizhang and Li Bai)

After He Zhizhang returned, he strongly recommended to Emperor Xuanzong that the poet Li Bai, who had been born out of nowhere, had to be appointed to Hanlin.

As a result, He Zhizhang and Li Bai both won the list of "Eight Immortals in Drinking". The great poet Du Fu once wrote the famous "Eight Immortals song in drinking" for this purpose, and the first one praised He Zhizhang: Zhizhang rode like a boat, and his eyes fell into the well and slept at the bottom of the water.

He Zhizhang's "madness" is also reflected in his calligraphy. He was a well-known calligrapher of the Tang Dynasty. Together with Zhang Ruoxu, Zhang Xu, and Bao Rong, he was called "The Fourth Soldier of Wuzhong". Wu Daozi, the painter, had learned calligraphy from him, and calligraphy masters such as Zhang Xu and Zhong Shaojing were all friends of He Zhizhang.

The stone carving "Records of Longrui Palace" on the flying stone on the southern slope of The Eastern Wanwei Mountain in Shaoxing City and the cursive "Filial Piety Classic" that flowed to Japan are rare inkblots of He Zhizhang's calligraphy works.

His calligraphy is often manifested in the fact that after drinking a little drunk, the pen is like flying, in one go. Later generations praised it: crazy people, exquisite pens, every happy life pen, good book big characters... Not human-reached.

Fourth, in his old age, he returned to his hometown with the mentality of an old naughty boy

In the early spring of 744 AD, He Zhizhang returned to his hometown of Shanyin, and after admiring the bright scenery, he vigorously wrote a fresh and cheerful poem "Wing Liu":

Jasper is made up of a tree high, and ten thousand green silk ribbons hang down.

I don't know who cut the fine leaves, and the spring breeze in February is like scissors.

He vividly described the characteristics of weeping willows, praised the beauty of spring, and expressed the beautiful and happy mood of early spring when he returned to his hometown in his later years, like a teenager.

Later, He Zhizhang took the "Thousand Autumn Temple" outside the Five Clouds Gate of Shanyin as his residence and built his own "Yiqu Pavilion" to entertain himself. In the meantime, he felt the scene of meeting the villagers when he returned to his hometown, many of them were no longer recognized, and the children still smiled and asked who it was, so he wrote the famous seven-word sentence "The Book of The Returning Dolls":

The young man left home and returned to the old man, and the township voice did not change the sideburns.

Children do not know each other, laughing and asking where the guests come from.

In this brisk seven-word poem, He Zhizhang still expressed his mood of returning to his hometown in a childlike way: Hometown has long been a thing of human beings, and the only thing that has not changed is the long-lost rural tone. As for himself, he ran away for half a life and returned as a teenager.

Between the lines, he expressed his mentality of returning to old age and childhood, and his vivid escape showed that He Zhizhang was still a cute "old naughty boy" image.

Since then, He Zhizhang has spent his old age in his hometown, calmly looking at the water surface every day by the Mirror Lake, calmly leaving the last years of his life to his childhood memories, and writing a poem for it, "The Second Book of Returning To his Hometown":

Leaving my hometown for many years, I have been half-consuming recently.

Only the mirror lake in front of the door, the spring wind does not change the old time wave.

This poem "The Second Book of Returning Dolls" can be regarded as the most authentic portrayal of He Zhizhang's life in his later years, which is popular among the population and has been recited through the ages.

After He Zhizhang's death, Li Bai wrote a condolence for "Remembering the Second Song of He Jian for Wine", sincerely expressing the touching and profound friendship between the two of them:

Siming has crazy guests, and the wind and flow are he Jizhen.

When Chang'an saw each other, he called me an immortal.
