Under the leadership of many outstanding generals, the masses of the people bravely fought against the enemy in an extremely difficult environment and finally won a comprehensive victory.
In the process of continuous fighting, these military generals who have made outstanding contributions have been highly recognized by the country and the people because of their excellent performance. When the rank was awarded in 1955, the generals who had played a great role in the War of Resistance Against Japan were basically awarded military ranks.
Compared with the above generals, General Liu Yalou's experience seems to have something special. During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, General Liu Yalou studied in the Soviet Union for a long time and did not directly participate in domestic battles. What did he do after he returned to China, and why was he awarded the rank of general by the state? This has to start from the early experience of General Liu Yalou.
When General Liu Yalou was very young, he lost his mother. His father had a difficult life alone and had no way to take care of him, so he passed him on to his friend Liu Dexiang.
In that poor era, children who were passed on to others were generally suffering and suffering, and life was not too comfortable. But Liu Yalou did not suffer too much, and after his adoptive father Liu Dexiang adopted him, he always took care of him as his own son and was unwilling to let him suffer any grievances.
Later, Liu Yalou was praised by his neighbors because of his talent. Liu Dexiang knew that Liu Yalou was a person who could do great things, and he would rather be aggrieved by his own children than save money and send Liu Yalou to school.
The efforts and efforts of his adoptive father Liu Dexiang, Liu Yalou looked in his eyes and remembered in his heart, after he went to school, he has been studying hard and is not willing to waste a little time. Soon, he learned a lot of knowledge and became a cultured person. Later, Liu Yalou interrupted his studies due to the turmoil of the times and worked for a period of time as a teacher.
After several turns, Liu Yalou inadvertently came into contact with progressive ideas, and in order to realize his revolutionary ideals, he resolutely joined the organization and became a fighter. After joining the organization, Liu Yalou was quickly promoted and reused by his superior leaders because of his excellent ability.
In the fourth anti-"encirclement and suppression" struggle, Liu Yalou, who had already shouldered a heavy responsibility, personally approached Premier Zhou in order to reduce the casualties of the revolutionary contingent and expounded his opinions and ideas to him in person. After listening, Premier Zhou said one after another that Liu Yalou's suggestions deserve attention. Later, the party organization did change its tactics, using ambushes to win brilliant victories and smash Chiang Kai-shek's fourth "encirclement and suppression" operation.
Relying on this speech, Liu Yalou, who was already quite highly valued, was highly recognized by Premier Zhou and others. Later, the Red Army suffered great losses because of the encirclement and interception of the Nationalist army. In order to protect the seeds of the revolution, the leaders of the organization decided to carry out a large-scale strategic shift. In the ensuing struggle, Liu Yalou led the soldiers around him to participate in the battle many times.
In many battles, Liu Yalou repeatedly made meritorious contributions to the great victory of the Long March.
In 1936, because the organization leaders attached importance to Liu Yalou, they decided to let him go to the Red Army University for further study. General Liu Yalou knew very well that obeying orders was the duty of a soldier, but he still raised objections to this arrangement, hoping that the leaders of the organization would send him to the front line and continue to fight the enemy.
To this end, General Liu Yalou personally talked to Chairman Mao. In the face of General Liu Yalou's ardent expectations, Chairman Mao frankly said: If you feel that you will not be able to stay in the rear, then I will let you not go to the front line for 10 years.
General Liu Yalou was immediately anxious when he heard this, and for a military general like him who was brave and good at war, it was quite a matter of resignation and shame that he could not go to the front line to fight.
Chairman Mao looked at General Liu Yalou and patiently explained: I know you can fight a war, but you have more important tasks, and running education is the fundamental, and we must have a long-term vision.
It is not difficult to see from these remarks that Chairman Mao did not let General Liu Yalou go to the front, not to deliberately strike at him, but to have higher expectations for him, hoping that he could start from the level of education and cultivate more outstanding talents for the organization and the country.
After understanding Chairman Mao's painstaking feelings, General Liu Yalou no longer resisted, and he immediately told Chairman Mao that he would do his best to complete his tasks, do his own work well, and never disappoint the leaders and organizations.
In 1939, General Liu Yalou was ordered to study in the Soviet Union, and it was not until August 1945 that he returned to the northeast with the Soviet army. Therefore, General Liu Yalou did not show his skills when the War of Resistance was fierce.
In fact, if it was just a simple study, General Liu Yalou would not need to stay in the Soviet Union for so long. The reason why he did not return home in time was mainly because the Soviet side was reluctant to release people.
There are rumors that the Soviet Union offered a very high price in order to retain General Liu Yalou. If he was willing to join the Soviet Union, the Soviet Union would be willing to exchange two armies for it.
We can't judge the truth or falsity of this rumor, but we should know the truth that there is no wind and no waves. If General Liu Yalou did not have a strong enough ability, the Soviet Union would not try to keep him.
At that time, the Soviet Union was powerful, and if General Liu Yalou was willing to stay in the Soviet Union, it would be easy to get a rich reward, but his heart was always concerned about the motherland, no matter how the Soviet Union tried to win over, he did not forget his identity as a Chinese.
After returning to China, General Liu Yalou used the knowledge he learned in the Soviet Union to cultivate a large number of outstanding talents at the Northeast Democratic Coalition Army Aviation School, laying a solid foundation for the organization's subsequent struggle victory.
During the Pingjin Campaign, General Liu Yalou, who was the commander-in-chief of the front line, personally rushed to the front line to collect intelligence and won a brilliant victory with the strategic principle of "fighting east and west, stopping and cutting off the waist."
When the Battle of Tianjin broke out, General Liu Yalou led 5 armies to launch a fierce attack on the enemy army, and in only 29 hours, 130,000 enemy troops were defeated and the enemy's Tianjin garrison commander Chen Changjie was captured.
When the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea broke out, General Liu Yalou put forward the idea of using soviet cover to form a volunteer air force in light of the actual situation.
After obtaining the approval of the organization's leaders, General Liu Yalou painstakingly trained a large number of air force talents for the country. After these air force pilots rushed to the battlefield, they used their brave and fearless spirit of resistance to kill a large number of US fighters one after another, which reduced a lot of pressure for the volunteers' ground combat.
All in all, although General Liu Yalou missed the crucial moment of the War of Resistance Against Japan, after he returned to China, he also made great historical contributions to the independence and reunification of the motherland. Therefore, when the head of the organization awarded him the rank of general in 1955, he was awarded the rank of general.
In 1965, General Liu Yalou died of illness at the age of 55, and leaders at all levels personally came to mourn, and the treatment after death was comparable to a state funeral.
