But Wen Yujuan's good voice was discovered by the teacher, and she often served as the lead singer in the school's theatrical performances.
In 1976, the Huangxian Lv Opera Troupe came to the school to enroll, and the students in the class basically went to take the exam, but they were all eliminated. As soon as Wen Yujuan's voice lit up, it attracted the attention of the admissions teacher. As a result, 17-year-old Wen Yujuan became an actor in the Huangxian Lu Opera Troupe.

The leaders of the regiment felt that Wen Yujuan was excavated and cultivated in the regiment and could not be poached by the drama. Wen Yujuan consulted with the leaders many times, and the other party resolutely refused to budge.
Qiu Shicui, the teacher who attended the play, wrote a letter to Wen Yujuan every few days, asking her how the political trial procedures were going, and comforting her in the letter: "Don't worry, even if you come to school later, it doesn't matter." In 1978, Wen Yujuan became a military actor in the Nanjing Military Region's Air Politics Cultural and Labor Corps. In the troupe, Wen Yujuan systematically received performance training. The following year, she starred in the troupe's drama "The Pilot's Wife", which made a name for herself in the drama industry.
It just so happened that at this time, the Shanghai Film Studio was preparing to shoot the rural comedy film "Xiyingmen", the role of the daughter-in-law "Xue Shuilian" was not determined for a long time, and the director Zhao Huanzhang chose actors everywhere.
The assistant director watched the drama "The Pilot's Wife" starring Wen Yujuan, remembered that he had seen Wen Yujuan in the Lu Opera Troupe, and felt that her image and temperament matched the role. Therefore, the assistant director recommended Wen Yujuan to Zhao Huanzhang.
