When I was an undergraduate, I considered whether to change majors in fashion design, but my family may think that industrial design is more practical, so I continued to learn, no matter how I have a skill to support myself. But after working, I found that I still prefer more artistic things, pure decorativeism haha, which cannot be achieved in industrial design.
I felt like no, I had to change careers.
This time, my family did not oppose me anymore, which may be related to my reasoned persuasion. I told my dad that the current Chinese fashion market is still a piece of fat meat, but no one has to nibble, or has not yet nibbled, I can go abroad to change a pair of steel teeth back to continue to nibble haha.
Anyway, in the end, my parents also understood me and were quite supportive.
But I didn't learn how to dress, I chose jewelry. Alas, the costume design is more like a vase of my beloved, which is suitable for viewing it, and I am afraid of breaking it when I touch it. Moreover, I also prefer to make things by hand, and I can do and participate in the whole process from design to production to shooting jewelry, and I enjoy the process of making it very much.
Before, I participated in the "Ten Colors of Fire" summer camp was so happy, from a handmade little white to a small craftsman, although every day is very busy and tired, but experienced the joy of craftsmanship hahaha. Then we made the finished product in that issue, and everyone liked it, and a bunch of people were buzzing around our small stalls.

Before thinking that jewelry is mainly gemstones and precious metals, I learned the portfolio and found that it is very closely related to industrial design, there will be some functional things, or partial installation art, or add some mechanized things into it, but it is also very fun, and you can also use your previous skills~
New skill get
One of the projects I'm working on is to use programming, to help people generate their own jewelry by setting up a program, and then I want to add an app to help people buy and use it. This is also the personal brand I am planning.
Mainly I plan to apply for St. Martin, which is more commercial, in fact, including the LDF. Therefore, planning out your own brand first is also helpful for the in-depth and subsequent application of the project. I also want to have the opportunity to make a pop-up store of my own brand, and see if I can catch up with the creative bazaar of the mall, and the rent can be cheaper.

I think for a brand, it is still necessary to find its own DNA. For example, one of my favorite artists, Amedeo Modigliani, painted people who have no eyes and no pupils, because he felt that the eyes were a very mysterious area, able to see a person's heart. So he felt that he couldn't read a person's words, and he couldn't draw the eyes of the other person.
That's the DNA I want to shape in the brand, with its own highlights and unique places, and it makes sense.

Now the project is not worried about ideas, daily experiences, videos watched, my own feelings, etc. can inspire me to think. But what worries me is that I opened 7 projects to complete 3, 4 are in progress...
I just sometimes feel that the topic of doing is not interesting, and I feel that the topic of discussion is not as discussative and subversive as the works of some designers, so I always want to go back and overturn the original idea, which leads to the project not going on.
Maybe it is still a logical problem, from the extraction of spiritual feeling elements, to the design and production of finished products, the intermediate process must be thought about, so that everything can be followed. Probably because of the change of major, I am also a little anxious, take it slowly, now there is nothing to study on the Hanyi Campus, and it is also convenient to discuss with Teacher Miao.
And friends I met in the downline of Hanyi will also advise me not to worry, to enjoy the design process. Well, that makes sense!

The first is not to indulge in research. While research is important, do some effective research and don't spread everything out. After doing the mind map, find a point to dig deeper.
For example, the project of my summer camp is to associate the Norse mythological world tree according to my own vertigo, and then continue to dig deeper into what the tree is and what the myth is, so that the longitudinal investigation will make the thinking more organized, and it is easy to sublimate the project theme in the creative process.
You can also do more goldwork or something, when you do it, you don't have to think about what to do, just try it, maybe combined with the information obtained by your own research, you can generate any new ideas.
Then, in terms of projects, I think you can do all kinds of projects, personalized expressions, social phenomena, etc., not too single. And sometimes we don't necessarily have to express our point of view, some sharp questions can actually be presented in the project, and then provoke the viewer to think, which is also a way of creating.
Most importantly, as an interprofessional student I would like to say, everyone must not panic!
Panic is meaningless, a panic many links are not done well, will only delay our progress, it is better to do every step in an orderly manner. And everyone can also integrate their own professional things when doing projects, reflecting their own characteristics.
I feel that the fashion circle is actually quite cross-border now, and I like different fields of technology, methods or managers to inject fresh blood into it, such as buccellati's innovation in the weaving technology used in jewelry forms. Therefore, interprofessionalism is not without advantages.
However, in the process of combination, we must also pay attention to retaining the attributes of jewelry, after all, it is to take the original profession to serve jewelry, and the main body cannot be mistaken.

Finally, finally, don't do figurative things... In my experience, if the process is not in place, the concrete things are really not good, and they cannot withstand scrutiny. But if it can be made into a couture series like Van Cleef & Arpels, with some mechanical structure, then I will withdraw this suggestion.
Well, that's it. Anyway, everyone does more hands-on in the creative process, thinks more, and communicates with teachers more. I think the teacher will help me a lot in key logic, and the understanding of the profession will be explained to me very thoroughly.
For example, Teacher Miao said that jewelry is an installation art made of metalwork. If you understand it in this way, your thinking will actually be very broad. It will not be limited by the size, the way of wearing, or anything.
