According to Taiwan media reports, a large number of jellyfish have appeared in the sea around The Lover's Wharf in Kaohsiung City recently, and the number of them almost covers the entire sea surface, and many tourists feel surprised and happy, and some people throw buckets into the sea and fish up the jellyfish to observe nearby. People surnamed Wu, who are engaged in water skiing in the Lover's Wharf, said that there were sporadic jellyfish in Xingda Port, but it has increased significantly since last week, and they have not experienced itching symptoms without inadvertent touching, and it should not be toxic.

Lai Ruilong, director of the Marine Bureau of the Kaohsiung Municipal Government, said that about 4 or 5 days ago, a large number of jellyfish were found in Xingda Port, and after expert identification, it was judged to be a low-toxicity four-grass jellyfish. Due to the rich ecology and good water quality of Xingda Port, it is currently in the peak period of spring and summer when the four grass jellyfish breed, and the number will increase, but why the number has increased compared with previous years still needs to be further investigated.

Lai Ruilong called for a small number of people who have developed itching symptoms after contact, although the toxicity of four grass jellyfish is extremely low, so contact and capture should be avoided to ensure safety and maintain marine ecology. (Taiwan Network He Jianfeng)
