The male has yellow wings, a broad black area on the outer edge of the forewing, a black dot at the middle ventricle, a black stripe on the outer edge of the hindwings, and a mid-ventricular dot with orange-yellow on the front, a silvery-white on the reverse, and a brown circle on the outside. Females have white wings and markings similar to those of male butterflies. The host is soybean, alfalfa and other plants.

Distributed in a large area of China; India, Japan, eastern Europe, etc.

The spotted bean powder butterfly is a Tibetan medicine that has the function of reducing swelling and relieving pain, and is also a butterfly with strong ornamental properties. Its discovery filled the gap in the distribution of this species in Matou Mountain and enriched the species of the Pink Butterfly family in the Horsehead Mountain Reserve.
