In the early summer of 1982, the leaders of the Peking Opera Troupe of Henan Province recommended me to the Beijing Opera House in Beijing to study under the famous artist Mr. Ma Changli. I was very happy to come to Beijing, and through the introduction of Mr. Zhang Menggeng, the director of the Beijing Opera House, I met Mr. Ma Changli, a famous Peking Opera artist. Seeing Master, we were just like the same at first sight, and I was excited and felt very kind!
Master told the band to come to the hospital, and after a while the teachers of the kung fu band came to the office, and several leaders of the hospital sat there very quietly. Dean Zhang Menggeng said, "Chang Li, don't you want to test him?" Let's get started"!
I was very nervous, and Master saw that I was a little timid, patted me on the shoulder and said, "Close your eyes and calm down."
When the band started, Teacher Jinghu asked, "Mr. Changli, what is the key?" Master immediately said, "According to the tone that Wei Xinyou said." At that time, I thought that this must be Master's professional organist!
The exam began, the first exam was "Empty City Plan", and the other play was "Three Stores". As soon as I finished singing, the teachers of the band exchanged heads in praise, "Hey, pony! ”
Master was very happy and said to the dean, "Arrange a date, I have received this apprentice!" ”。 At that time, I was really excited, and then I carried Master downstairs to the club stage to rehearse the play. After rehearsing the play, Master said to me, "Prepare yourself, go to the Ministry of Theater to lead the post to the Palace of National Culture to participate in the worship meeting."
On June 25, 1982, the day of the ceremony, the artists who came to the Peking Opera circle were so famous that the number of artists who came to the Peking Opera circle was unprecedented. Li Hongchun (Master), Liu Shengtong (Master), Zhang Junqiu, Li Wanchun, Ma Chongren, Wu Shiquan (my wife's father, Master Li Duokui's personal disciple), Wu Xiaolin (my wife, Master Li Duokui's personal disciple), Lao Wang Yurong, Xiao Wang Yurong (Shi Niang), Xie Hongwen, Yu Shiwen, Li Muliang, Li Zhiliang, Shang Changchun (son of Shang Xiaoyun), Qian Yuantong, Liu Xiurong, Zhang Chunxiao, Sun Yumin, Zhang Guochu, Feng Zhixiao, Wang Yan, Tan Shixiu, Wu Xue, Tong Bao, and many other famous artists and masters personally witnessed this time." After visiting the master, Mr. Wu Shiquan (my father-in-law), a famous Peking Opera artist, led me to master's house, and after kowtowing to the master's grandmother, master, and master's wife, he had a "small banquet" at the master's house.
After the ceremony, I was arranged to live in the Beijing Peking Opera Troupe dormitory, which was close to Master's house, and commuted with Master, and wherever Master drove, he took me wherever he went.
During that time in Beijing, Master was very kind to me. Starting from the basic drama learning, Master taught me hand in hand, tirelessly, following the good temptations, repeatedly singing word by word, and the actions came one by one. I didn't dare to slack off in the slightest, and I tried hard to take advantage of this rare opportunity to learn as solidly as possible and master more about Master's things.
I remember that "The Orphan of Zhao" was the most "porcelain reality" I learned; the second one I learned was "Su Wu Mu Sheep". Master saw that I had studied very hard, and my progress was also very fast, and he personally pulled the strings many times to hang my voice. This experience of teaching laid a solid foundation for my future acting career and became a good opportunity for me to settle down in the Henan Peking Opera Troupe in the future.
Zhang Menggeng, then director of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and director of the Beijing Peking Opera, saw that I was a good seedling, so he and His Master jointly transferred me to the Beijing Peking Opera. At that time, I was an old student of the Henan Peking Opera Troupe, and the unit wrote to me and wrote to the Beijing Opera House saying, "Wei Xinyou is picking the big beams in our troupe and cannot be transferred to Beijing."
In desperation, Master had no choice but to say: Be well, let him go back first, and then talk about it later. Later, Master repeatedly mentioned in his letter that he wanted me to go to Beijing, and instructed me to talk to the leader well, and try to let your regiment let you go, and Master also thought of a way to do it in Beijing.
In the end, for various reasons, master's wish could not be fulfilled. I still obeyed the organizational arrangement and stayed in the Henan Peking Opera Troupe (later upgraded to henan provincial Peking Opera House). Time flies, years flies. Today, 36 years later, time has passed, and master's voice and smile always appear in my memory, but I am still so kind! As if it were yesterday, so clearly visible
