Ma Changli, born in Beijing in 1930, entered the Beijing Rongchun Social Science Class at an early age to study art, and later studied under Tan Fuying, and was guided by Ma Lianliang and Li Shaochun, and his skills were more skilled. He is eclectic and can sing a variety of genres.
From the late 1950s to before the "Cultural Revolution", it was a peak period of Ma Changli's artistic career, when his voice was pure and pure, his voice was round and well-behaved, especially when using "folding tone", he could be graceful and not fancy, loud and not dull, and had a strong artistic charm. At this stage, he mainly performed Tan and Yang's two schools of drama, such as "Visiting mothers and returning orders", "Great Detective II" and all "Wu Zixu" starting from "Zhan Fancheng", which are very high-level performance repertoire.
After the "Cultural Revolution", Ma Changli performed more Horse Pai operas, such as "Borrowing the East Wind", "Ten Lao An Liu", "Ganlu Temple", "Rouge Bao fold", "Zhao Orphan", "A Bunch of Snow" and so on, so that Ma Pai opera fans were satisfied.
Ma Changli is an actor with great creative ability, and he can give full play to the role of the performance on the basis of inheriting the former sages, and has made great achievements. Before the "Cultural Revolution", he played "Lu Jiachuan" in the modern drama "Song of Youth", "Li Danian" as an underground communist party member in "Grassland Beacon", "Yang Zirong" in "ZhiZhi Zhi Bandit Mountain Sculpture", and "Wen Qijiuzi" in "Cuckoo Mountain", all of which were well received by the audience.
In addition to playing "Diao Deyi" in "Sha Jiabang" during the Cultural Revolution, he also played "Li Yuhe" in "The Red Lantern", "Chief of Staff" in "Wise Tiger Mountain", and "Ma Hongliang", an old worker, in "Harbor".
Ma Changli also appeared on the stage of the CCTV Spring Festival Gala in 1983, performing the Peking Opera "Empty City Plan". In 1991, he appeared on the Spring Festival Gala again, and together with Xin Baoda, Yan Xingming and Geng Qichang, he performed an excerpt from the Peking Opera joint singing "Ganlu Temple".
In 1958, Ma Changli and Tan Yuanshou performed "Zhi Capture Habitual Bandit Mountain Eagle", and the plot was very legendary. Yang Zirong of Ma Changli, Shao Jianbo of Tan Yuanshou, Zashan Sculpture of Hao Qinghai, Chief of Staff of Ci Shaoquan, and A Branch of Flowers of Xiao Wang Yurong (this is a character not in the original book, adding to the drama. Later, the characters changed, with Ma Changli playing Shao Jianbo and Tan Yuanshou playing Yang Zirong.
In this play, Yang Zirong and ShaoJian Bo Dingji have a large section of two Huangyuan board duets, which is very good. Ma Changli sang "Yang Zirong is a good fundamental, nine-year-old herding cattle to cultivate the land." Ever since he joined the army to make a revolution, he has only had no two hearts."
