Chapter I: General Provisions

Article 7: The State is to carry out education on forging a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation, promoting exchanges, exchanges, and blending among all ethnic groups, increasing recognition of the great motherland, the Chinese nation, Chinese culture, the Communist Party of China, and socialism with Chinese characteristics, and building a common spiritual home for the Chinese nation.

Chapter II: Duties and Tasks
Article 11: The central departments in charge of patriotic education are responsible for guiding, supervising, and coordinating the nation's patriotic education efforts.

Units and individuals that have made outstanding contributions to patriotic education are to be commended and rewarded in accordance with relevant state regulations.

Article 37: All citizens and organizations shall carry forward the spirit of patriotism, conscientiously preserve national security, honor, and interests, and must not engage in the following conduct:
(1) Insulting the national flag, national anthem, or national emblem, or other conduct that harms the dignity of the national flag, national anthem, or national emblem;
(2) Distorting, vilifying, desecrating, or denying the deeds and spirit of heroes and martyrs;

Article 39: Where departments or units with patriotic education duties do not perform patriotic education duties in accordance with law, the responsible leaders and directly responsible personnel are to be given sanctions in accordance with law.

Article 40: This Law takes effect on January 1, 2024.
