On the afternoon of July 1, the 2024 Global Digital Economy Conference Artificial Intelligence Forum was held at the Conference Center of Zhongguancun National Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone. The forum closely followed the hot spot of large-scale model application, with the theme of "Application is the Future-Large Model Empowers Thousands of Industries, New Ecology Embraces the Future of Industry", which has attracted attention from all walks of life.
Beijing has successively formulated the Implementation Plan of Beijing Municipality on Accelerating the Construction of a Global Digital Economy Benchmark City, Several Measures of Beijing Municipality to Promote the Innovation and Development of General Artificial Intelligence, and Implementation Plan of Beijing Municipality for Accelerating the Construction of a Source of Artificial Intelligence Innovation with Global Influence (2023-2025). Xu Xinchao, Deputy Secretary-General of the Beijing Municipal People's Government, said in his speech that artificial intelligence has a strong "head goose" effect in the development of the digital economy industry, and generative AI-related technologies represented by large models have injected strong momentum into the digital and intelligent transformation of thousands of industries empowered by artificial intelligence, which is also an important strategic opportunity for Beijing to build a global digital economy benchmark city. Up to now, 166 large-scale model products have passed the record in the country, including 71 in Beijing, accounting for about half of the country, and the construction of artificial intelligence industry highland has achieved remarkable results. In the future, Beijing will continue to deepen regional collaboration, optimize industrial policy support, promote the iterative evolution of large models, and strive to promote the implementation of applications, so as to provide strong support for the digital and intelligent transformation of thousands of industries.
At the forum, top experts and business leaders in the field of large models gathered to deliver keynote speeches on the application and exploration of large model technology and based on the company's own practice. In addition, the 2024 Zhongguancun Bionic Robot Competition was officially launched. The competition aims to create an innovative highland of robots and embodied large models with global influence, and promote the comprehensive docking of innovation and entrepreneurship elements such as talents, technologies, products, markets, capital, and services. The competition set up three main tracks, namely humanoid bionic robots, embodied large models, and multi-legged bionic robots; 1 innovation track, including but not limited to underwater bionic robots, flying bionic robots, crawling bionic robots, bionic dexterous hands, etc. At the same time, on the forum, the "large model experience coupon" was officially released. During the event, consumers can experience the intelligent services brought by the large model and experience the new scenario of digital consumption. This initiative also provides user feedback for product development and optimization for large-scale model enterprises.
The forum was organized by Beijing Jizhi Future Artificial Intelligence Industry Innovation Base Co., Ltd., Beijing Jiwei Technology Co., Ltd., China Telecom Beijing Branch, Beijing Artificial Intelligence Industry Alliance, and Beijing Frontier International Artificial Intelligence Research Institute. Nearly 5 million online and offline participants witnessed the strong power of artificial intelligence as a new quality of productivity.
