Intelligent networked vehicles are profoundly influencing the development of the automotive industry by integrating automobiles with electronic information.

"Regarding intelligent networked vehicles, we cannot say that they belong to the automotive industry alone, nor can we absolutely say that they belong to the new generation of information technology industry. We can see it as the transformation and upgrading of the industry itself, which is a deep integration of the two formats. In this interview, Wang Liang, general manager of Qingdao Future Network Innovation Technology Co., Ltd., said that the development of intelligent networked vehicles is not only a breakthrough in technology, but also a reflection of new business formats.

In the "integration of two industries", the integration of advanced manufacturing and modern service industries promotes the cross-penetration of industries and continuously cultivates the formation of new formats and new models. In the field of intelligent networked vehicles, we have seen the vigorous vitality of new business formats.

Reporter: How do you understand the new quality of productivity? From a company's perspective, what do you think is the core of new quality productivity?

Wang Liang: The core of the new quality productivity is very simple, and everyone can clearly understand that the new quality productivity is mainly to highlight the word "new", that is, innovation. I think there may be several aspects of innovation, and for different industries and different enterprises, the innovation points may be different. For example, an emerging industry may have brought about a change through a technological breakthrough and led a new industry. The traditional manufacturing industry is to reduce costs and increase efficiency through digital transformation, or to lead the innovative change of production factors, so it actually brings a new model of change. There is also a kind of deep transformation and upgrading of the industry itself, just like the intelligent networked car we do, it belongs to the integration of the automobile industry and the new generation of information technology industry. Generally speaking, the transfer of technological experience in the field of information and communication to the automotive industry is a breakthrough and an innovation in itself.

Reporter: In the process of developing new quality productivity, how does the company do? What have you achieved?

Wang Liang: At the beginning of its establishment, Qingdao Future Network Innovation Technology Co., Ltd. focused on the field of intelligent networked vehicles, and of course, it was also based on our accumulation of experience and technology in the field of mobile communication and information technology that we transitioned to this field.

Traditionally, we mainly provide inspection and testing services for intelligent terminal products, but with the development of mobile communications, intelligent terminal products have also entered a bottleneck period of development. After the popularization of 5G technology, there are many new technologies that have not yet formed an industrialization scale, and we also expect the traditional mobile intelligent center to have a great development, which will also be a big growth point for this market. At present, we have built a relatively complete intelligent networked vehicle communication test laboratory in China, as well as the world's only or the first communication laboratory that can support both automotive SISO and MIMO performance testing.

Moreover, its testing technology and software and hardware systems have basically achieved domestic substitution and independent intellectual property rights, and domestic substitution has reached the level of about 85%.

This in itself is also a great technological breakthrough, because in the field of traditional mobile communication testing, many test equipment, including systems, mainly rely on imports at the earliest, and the earliest test standards related to mobile communications are formulated by foreign standards organizations. With the development trend of 3G following, 4G innovation and 5G leading in our country, our related industries have also come to the forefront of the field. In fact, the current domestic equipment can basically meet the test requirements. Most of the information security test solutions for vehicles and parts have been replaced by domestic ones, but there are some core components that we may also need to rely on abroad.

From the component level to the vehicle level, from the vehicle to the vehicle communication, from the domestic test, R&D test, commissioned test to this overseas certification test, we are able to form a complete set of testing solutions to provide customers. In this process, we also provide customers with technical rectification services for test problems.

Therefore, we position ourselves as a public technical service platform, which is also a new form of business that integrates the two industries clearly put forward in our country's development plan.

Reporter: Just now you have been mentioning integration, behind the integration is actually a kind of transformation and breakthrough, so what difficulties have you encountered in the process of transformation and breakthrough?

Wang Liang: When it comes to transformation and breakthroughs, it must be facing difficulties and crises.

Affected by the international environment, the development of this field has slowed down relatively speaking, and the market revenue has decreased, which is actually one of our difficulties. As a business, its biggest point is to generate income, to survive, to survive.

At this stage, we must not only ensure the smooth completion of the new platform construction, but also actively expand new markets to ensure that the company's revenue can reach breakeven or even profitability. In fact, this process is very difficult.

In addition, there is another layer of meaning about integration. There are barriers between industries and between industries. These barriers may be technical, cognitive, or human-to-person. In this process, how we can integrate into each other's industry is a very big difficulty, which also brings us a big puzzle.

We have also sought some breakthrough methods, such as now the country also advocates industry-university-research, we have established a good industry-university-research cooperation mechanism with some equipment suppliers and universities, forming a benign talent training model. Overall, the transformation was both difficult and rewarding, and in the process we developed our own team while also bringing value to our customers.

Reporter: Is the intelligent networked car in the tuyere period? What do you think of the "tuyere"?

Wang Liang: I think there is no doubt about it. First of all, it can be said with certainty that intelligent networked vehicles are indeed a current outlet, of course, the tuyere is not limited to this one, such as satellite communications, low-altitude economy, artificial intelligence, etc., but we can't catch all the outlets.

We can only make our own adjustments or layout in advance according to our own ability and accumulation, and we can seize the opportunity that we can grasp.

We started working on intelligent connected cars in 2018, and many customers were not particularly interested at that time. The most intuitive feeling for us now is that customers take the initiative to come to us more, and customers have a clear test budget and testing needs, and they start to have personnel needs. Going back to the company itself, we see the market efficiency, and the first quarter of this year has done almost a year's revenue from last year.

In addition, also based on the momentum of industrial development this year, so now we can say that we have caught the outlet. In fact, the so-called tuyere refers to how the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain can achieve a round of strong growth through their own reform and innovation.

Reporter: From the perspective of developing new quality productive forces, what are the plans for the next step?

Wang Liang: We must still focus on the production-oriented service industry, or the high-tech service industry and the modern service industry.

With the continuous improvement of the requirements of intelligent networked vehicles for the new generation of information technology, we will follow and maintain our technical advantages or technical capabilities, and continue to improve our program capabilities and technical capabilities in accordance with the development trend.

On the other hand, we will also lay out or consider some related industries, such as the low-altitude economy, which is currently very hot from the country to the provinces and cities, so as to pave the way for future development.
