From an ordinary workshop welder to an industry expert who was awarded the "Qilu Craftsman", "Shandong May Day Labor Medal" and "Shandong Province Model Worker", in the past 17 years, he has overcome difficulties with a welding torch and painted a wonderful life, he is Liu Wei, the head of the welding center of the production technology department of Shandong Nuclear Power Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd.
In 2007, not long after graduating from university, Liu Wei joined Shandong Nuclear Power Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd. and worked in the front-line welding workshop. Soon after work, Liu Wei found that the commissioning of the company's automatic welding production line had been carried out under the guidance of foreign experts for a long time, and the feeling of being controlled everywhere made Liu Wei determined to "develop welding equipment that belongs to the Chinese".
At the beginning of research and development, the problem of small volume and long-term welding was placed in front of Liu Wei. In daily work, welders have to drill into a space with a width and height of less than half a meter and a length of 20 meters to carry out operations. In order to solve this problem, Liu Wei and his team worked day and night, countless attempts, failures, modifications of the cycle, which lasted two years, a highly integrated welding robot called "Thunderbolt" was successfully developed, it can continuously weld more than 4,000 meters of welds, the pass rate reached 100%.
The birth of "Thunderbolt" is not the end of the development of welding robots. On the basis of "Thunderbolt", Liu Wei has achieved a breakthrough in automated welding technology.
From an ordinary technician to a Qilu craftsman, in the ordinary and extraordinary 17 years, Liu Wei has won the May Day Labor Medal of Shandong Province, Qilu Craftsman, Yantai Great Craftsman, Yantai May Day Labor Medal, State Power Investment Group Outstanding Struggler, Outstanding Communist Party Member and other titles, selected into the "961 Science and Technology Talent Project", and the innovation studio named after him was awarded the "Haiyang City Innovation Studio", "Yantai Model Worker and Craftsman Innovation Studio", and "State Power Investment Group Demonstration Innovation Studio". In 2022, he led his team members to win the first prize of the Shandong Provincial Staff Innovation and Efficiency Competition. He uses the professional knowledge he has learned to closely connect with his work, and strives to interpret his professional value and life pursuit.
