The "Sentinels Who Never Sleep" in Hair Ear

author:Tianyan News

"It's the rainy season now, and with the particularity of the terrain and topography on our side, it's really reassuring to have it guarded." Li Chao, a staff member of the Shuicheng District Letters and Visits Bureau stationed in Faer Town, said frankly.

Faer Town, Shuicheng District, Liupanshui City, is located in the transition zone from Guizhou Plateau to Yunnan Plateau, which is a karst area, with high terrain around and low in the middle, and the landform is mainly mountainous. The average annual precipitation in the town is 1150 mm, and the rainfall is mainly concentrated from June to August every year, with the most in July.

"The steep slopes of the mountains, coupled with continuous rainfall, are prone to landslides."

In June 2023, after seeing the geological disaster point monitoring equipment installed in the coal mines in the jurisdiction, the town's leaders found Li Chao.

"Because my major in college was network engineering, the leaders hoped that I would work with another town staff member to develop a machine that is more operable, scalable, easier to install, and more cost-effective."

In this way, Li Chao began to bury his head in research.

He first consulted various materials and then bought materials from the Internet to assemble them. Then, when I started writing the program, I had the mobile phone and computer operating platforms that the reporter saw.

At the beginning of May this year, the landslide monitor began to be used on a pilot basis.

"We chose the Erdaoyan Formation in Minzhu Village, installed three at the geological hazard monitoring point, and also installed four in the villagers' homes. The principle is actually very simple, the monitor is connected to a nearby large rock or tree by a long rope, once it falls due to the action of external force, it can be as short as 1 second or as long as 5 seconds, and the signal can be transmitted to the corresponding alarm, and the alarm will sound accordingly to notify the nearby villagers to evacuate. The signal will also be transmitted to our mobile phone and computer at the same time, and we can immediately see which location it is and who the contact is there; At the same time, the alarm in the flood control duty room will also sound to alert the staff. Through multi-channel simultaneous notification, it ensures that personnel can find the danger in the first time. ”

Li Chao said that if the inspectors find potential safety hazards during the inspection, but the monitor does not prompt for the time being, they can operate through the mobile phone to trigger the alarm and remind the people to evacuate according to the prescribed route.

"In the past, if there was a danger, it was the inspectors or grid workers who called from door to door, or came to the door to report. Now with this machine, we can remind everyone in a more timely and effective manner. And considering that we need to install multiple equipment, if we buy tens of thousands of yuan of machines, the cost is relatively high. Now that we have developed this set of equipment, it is equivalent to installing a pair of sleepless eyes at the monitoring point for 24 hours, so that the masses have a full sense of security. ”

Small machinery and equipment, one end is connected to the monitoring point, the other end is connected to the safety of the people, Fa'er Town with a simple but efficient operation, the alarm bell is installed in the monitoring point, but also in the heart.

Safety tips during the flood season

01. Pay attention to safety during the flood season and do not go to dangerous areas, especially areas prone to geological disasters such as floods, landslides, and debris flows.

02. When swimming, pay attention to prevent drowning, do not swim after drinking, and do not swim in unknown environments such as reservoirs and dams or waters with warnings. Guardians should educate children not to swim in the wild to avoid accidents.

03. Listen to the weather forecast frequently, pay close attention to weather changes, understand the disaster forecast and prediction, and do a good job in flood prevention and self-protection; It is necessary to conscientiously study the knowledge of preventing and fighting disasters during the flood season and enhance our ability to protect ourselves.

04. When encountering thunderstorms outdoors, try to take shelter in safe buildings, do not take shelter from the rain under big trees, do not hold metal objects and mobile phones to prevent lightning strikes, stay away from rivers, lakes, rice fields and open areas, and stay away from billboards and simple buildings.

05. Walk in the rain and avoid light poles, power poles, transformers, power lines, and nearby trees and other objects that may be connected to electricity. When passing through a waterlogged area, if you find that a power line has fallen into the water, you must stay away and report it to the relevant authorities in time.

06. During or after a long period of rain, do not walk against the wall or drive, park, do not approach the steep hillside, the wall is soaked in rainwater for a long time, and it is very likely to collapse.

07. In view of the characteristics of high temperature, heavy rain, and strong wind, thunder and lightning weather during the flood season, social units should strengthen the organization of regular fire safety inspections of key fire, electricity, and gas equipment and facilities, and crowded places, and formulate emergency plans to prevent fire and explosion accidents.

08. In the event of heavy rain and thunderstorm, it is necessary to strengthen the management of gas and power supply, and disconnect the switch of electrical equipment at home to prevent gas leakage and wire immersion from causing leakage and fire and injury accidents.

09. When passing through flooded roads and underpass passages, pay attention to the water conditions to prevent them from accidentally entering deep water areas or falling into drains. Before the flood waters have completely receded, do not move to areas that are prone to inundation, and do not go to the areas where they are inundated.

10. Do not build houses and other facilities before and after the steep ridge of dangerous rocks, do not stay and rest near the steep slopes of dangerous rocks, do not take shelter from the rain in the pits on the side of the road under the steep ridges of dangerous rocks, pay attention to observe when driving and walking over the steep ridges, pass carefully, and run to both sides when a collapse occurs.
