At the beginning of 2024, Grandpa Cao was admitted to the hospital for dizziness for 3 days and cough for 5 days, and the examination found that Grandpa Cao's blood pressure decreased during the dialysis process due to many underlying diseases, and the excess water in the body could not be filtered out, resulting in left lung infection and pleural effusion, which further aggravated heart failure.
So, how can we improve Grandpa Cao's situation? After comprehensive consideration, Dr. Chen Huimin of the hemodialysis room recommended Grandpa Cao to undergo bedside CRRT treatment, which not only allows for slow and continuous ultrafiltration, but also has little impact on hemodynamics, which is more conducive to Grandpa Cao's body to filter out excess water and has a better detoxification effect. But considering that the treatment took longer than usual, Grandpa Cao thought about it for a long time and finally rejected the suggestion.
The next day, Dr. Liu Feiyan from the hemodialysis room went to the ward again and explained in detail to Grandpa Cao the necessity and superiority of CRRT treatment based on his condition, but Grandpa Cao still said that he needed to think again. Not long ago, a kidney meeting was held in the hemodialysis room, and Grandpa Cao was unable to arrive at the scene due to physical reasons, but the medical staff in the hemodialysis room forwarded the recorded video to Grandpa Cao for viewing as soon as possible. After watching the video, Grandpa Cao said with confidence: "I want to strive for another 7 years of dialysis, so that we can celebrate our 100th birthday together."
