Recently, the Anti-Smuggling Bureau of Nanning Customs launched the third round of special operations to crack down on duty-free "package purchasing" smuggling on Hainan Island, and implemented a unified centralized collection network in Chongzuo, Guangxi, and Haikou, Hainan, arrested 7 criminal suspects, and seized 95 cosmetics and 183 bottles of foreign wine involved in the case on the spot.
After preliminary investigation, the smuggling gang headed by Tang and Ma organized personnel to smuggle cosmetics, foreign wine, and other goods through the method of "returning to the island and picking them up", and then sold them again through the Internet to make a profit, and the amount involved was about 7 million yuan. At present, the case is under further investigation.
Customs Reminder: Purchasing duty-free goods for others for the purpose of making profits, or re-selling the purchased duty-free goods in the domestic market; Organizing and using the qualifications and quotas of others to purchase duty-free goods on the outlying islands to purchase duty-free goods and seek illegal benefits are all illegal acts of smuggling on the off-island duty-free "package purchase", and the customs will deal with them in accordance with relevant laws and regulations, and if a crime is constituted, criminal responsibility will be investigated according to law.
