In the first quarter, the Knicks came out firing and established an early double-digit lead. After the middle of the period, the Knicks hit another high-scoring streak, and Hart's three-point shot with 2:22 left left gave the Knicks a 33-11 lead to 22 points. The 76ers regained their touch, and Batum hit two three-pointers to lead the team to an 11-0 run to narrow the difference. The first quarter ended with the Knicks leading by 14 points at 36-22.
The Knicks' shooting percentage dropped in the second quarter, and the 76ers took the opportunity to continue to close the gap, with an 11-0 run that helped them chase 38-41 midway through the second quarter. Hield continued to make three-point efforts in the second half, hitting five three-pointers in the quarter and scoring 17 points alone, and at halftime, the 76ers outscored the Knicks by three points at 54-51.

After the timeout, the 76ers, who had their backs to the water, scored consecutive points, and Maxey's 2+1 chased to 111 in 34.9 seconds.
