This girl is He Xiaoshu.
However, when she was born, she was not called He Xiaoshu, but Du Xiaoshu.
He Xiaoshu's father was named Du Chongshi. He is a character whose life is full of legends.
He was born in 1913 and is a native of Guang'an, Sichuan. His father was a wealthy local gentry. When Du Chongshi grew up, he was a major general in the Sichuan Army, and he was also the "leading big brother" of the "Brother Robe" organization. He provided help during the Red Army's Long March north to resist Japan, and later participated in the "August 13" Songhu War of Resistance with the 20th Army of the Sichuan Army. In 1939, he went to Yan'an and entered the Kang Da to study, becoming a "special party member" in China. He later served in the Central Committee of the Kuomintang Revolutionary Committee, but was branded a "rightist" in 1957 and sentenced to labor reform in 1958, and was not rehabilitated until February 1980, when he enjoyed the treatment of retiring senior cadres.
So why doesn't He Xiaoshu have the surname Du?
There is a tragic love story in it.
In 1931, at the age of 18, after finishing gaozheng at Guang'an Middle School, Du Chongshi came to Shanghai with great enthusiasm and entered the Xinhua University of the Arts, founded by the left-wing scholar Xu Xinzhi and others, to study drama and painting.
Almost at the same time, another girl from her hometown in Sichuan also came to Shanghai. This beautiful woman named He Yunshu met Du Chongshi by chance. The two men were talented and female, and they fell in love with each other, and soon fell in love. So in 1932, they "returned home to both husband and wife", returned to Guang'an, held a wedding, and on November 21, 1933, gave birth to a lovely daughter, named Du Xiaoshu.
The arrival of Du Xiaoshu has brought too much happiness to this newly established small family. At this time, Du Chongshi also came to Yang Sen's men because his father and Yang Sen, the commander of the 20th Army of the Sichuan Army, were fellow villagers and family friends, and took up the post of secretary of the headquarters of the 20th Army, and also became the principal of the Guang'an County No. 1 Middle School.
At that time, although Du Xiaoshu kept going to and from several places because of his father's reasons, because he had the love of his parents, he could really say that he was living in a honeypot.

Later, Du Chongshi recalled this past, he said: At that time, Yunshu and I were too young to cherish love. In the early 40s, we went our separate ways... Originally, Xiaoshu was going to stay in the Du family, because she was our descendant. But because Yunshu loves her daughter, she took her daughter away privately, and changed her mother's surname, from Du Xiaoshu to He Xiaoshu, and her daughter also estrangeed me...
It turned out that He Yunshu was a strong woman, and when she found out that Du Chongshi had other women around her, she chose to divorce him without saying a word. And insisted on returning custody of her daughter. She said that even if she did not rely on men, she could raise her daughter. Therefore, she changed her daughter's surname to her mother's surname and named it He Xiaoshu.
And how difficult is it for a woman with a child? At a young age, He Xiaoshu saw all the hardships his mother had suffered. She believed that all this was caused by her father, so she began to reject and "hate" his father from her heart.
Later, He Yunshu remarried with He Xiaoshu, and his life was not very good. Because in the old customary concept, women who remarried would be discriminated against, and even those with He Xiaoshu were also "snubbed". This led to the fact that He Xiaoshu, who used to be like a "little princess", could only learn to endure white eyes and ridicule early on. Therefore, He Xiaoshu during that period was extremely timid and inferior.
This situation was only slightly improved after the founding of New China when she was admitted to the Institute of Performing Arts founded by Chen Bo'er in Beijing.
In 1949, He Xiaoshu was first admitted to the Shanghai Xingzhi Art School to study drama performance, and then in 1951, he was admitted to the Institute of Performing Arts of the Bureau of Culture and Film (hereinafter referred to as the Institute of Performing Arts). This was the first film school opened after the founding of New China (later renamed Beijing Film Academy), and He Xiaoshu became the first batch of film actors trained in New China.
Many students in this class later became big stars shining on the big screen, including Zhang Yuan, Pang Xueqin, Li Yalin, Ye Linlang, Zhang Hui, Yin Zhiming, Zhao Lian, etc.
At school, He Xiaoshu also met the most important person in his life, Li Yalin.

In the early spring of 1931, Li Yalin was born into an old bureaucratic family in Jinzhou, Liaoning Province.
Soon, he came to Beijing with his father and entered Huiwen Middle School and No. 2 Middle School, finishing high school. In 1949, after the founding of New China, Li Yalin, who received progressive ideas, was determined to draw a clear line with the feudal family and start a new life of his own.
In order to stay away from home, he first wanted to be a seafarer. However, when the exam was taken, the physical examination was not passed. This made him feel very disappointed. One day, while depressed at home, he suddenly saw the news of the enrollment of the Institute of Performing Arts from a newspaper. Li Yalin, who has loved art since childhood, was overjoyed and immediately signed up.
What he didn't expect was that originally he just wanted to try, but he didn't expect to pass five levels and cut six generals very smoothly, becoming the last best. At the same time, there was also a girl from Shanghai named He Xiaoshu.
At that time, He Xiaoshu was not yet 18 years old, and his personality was very introverted, and he blushed shyly when he saw people. Somehow, when Li Yalin first saw He Xiaoshu, he especially wanted to protect her.
And what was He Xiaoshu's first impression of Li Yalin? She felt that he was mature, intelligent, and sincere, and she had a good feeling for him for no reason.
At that time, more than 30 students in the class were assigned to several different study groups, and Li Yalin and He Xiaoshu were not in the same group, but their hearts were always on each other.
In this beautiful and beautiful performance class, He Xiaoshu is not the most beautiful one. But she has a special charm in her, which deeply attracts Li Yalin. In particular, her big eyes like black grapes, and the big braids that aligned her waist, and her simple smile often appear in Li Yalin's dreams.

But such feelings have always been buried in the hearts of the two. Before they can determine each other's intentions, they can only quietly test. Hearing that He Xiaoshu was ill, Li Yalin would pretend that something had happened to He Xiaoshu's dormitory, and pass on his concerned eyes to He Xiaoshu by telling jokes to female classmates.
In 1953, they finally graduated from school and were then assigned to the Beijing Film Actors Troupe, headed by Tian Fang. It was only at this time that Li Yalin finally plucked up enough courage to invite He Xiaoshu to the open space of the theater on a bright night in the moon, and seriously confessed to He Xiaoshu.
This sudden scene made He Xiaoshu blush and his heart beat faster. She didn't know what to say, but just lowered her head and twisted the corners of her clothes as if she were going to wring out water. In 1955, after they came to Changchun, He Xiaoshu soon got the opportunity to play, first running dragon sets in movies such as "Dong Cunrui" and "Flowers of the Motherland", and then playing an important role in "Ten O'Clock on National Day" Zhao Xiaohui. Her look in this film is very beautiful, with a rustic beauty. Even her father, Du Chongshi, said after reading it that his favorite is his daughter's style in "Ten O'Clock on National Day".
After that, He Xiaoshu successively played roles in movies such as "Re-examination", "Construction Site Youth", "Walking Side by Side", "The Story of the Red Scarf", "Hongyan", "Wan Mu Chun", "Express Train" and other movies, and soon became a pawn of the long film studio.
But just when He Xiaoshu had begun to become popular, Li Yalin, who was both excellent in school and excellent in learning, was still in a state of no drama to shoot. But even so, He Xiaoshu resolutely and resolutely entered the marriage hall with Li Yalin. In the winter of 1957, they married. At this time, Li Yalin's "Tiger's Den Tracking" starring was just released, although he played a villain, but his superb acting skills were welcomed by the audience. Therefore, he can also be regarded as a double happiness at the door.
In fact, this marriage did bring good luck to Li Yalin. Before this, although Li Yalin also began to act, the roles he received were all villains, either spies or traitors. However, soon after getting married, he "came and went" and began to play a positive character, but also a male protagonist.
In 1958, director Yu Yanfu boldly used Li Yalin and arranged for him to play the role of Wang Liang in the movie "The Case of Xu Qiuying". And Li Yalin really lived up to expectations and portrayed Wang Liang to life.
Immediately after, he ushered in one of the most important roles in his acting career, that is, Gao Zhanwu in "The Young People in Our Village". This role made Li Yalin a top star at that time, making him an idol and role model for young people in the 50s and 60s. In the early 1960s, it was the most exuberant period of Li Yalinhe Xiaoshu's creation as actors. Both of them are good works. However, this situation continued after 1966, and then it took a sharp turn.
Li Yalin's personality in life is actually similar to Gao Zhanwu in "The Young Man in Our Village". He has a bold personality, and he often has a saying and a straight forward. In 1966, Li Yalin and He Xiaoshu were quickly overthrown because they were "not born well". Not only that, But Li Yalin's elderly mother was also driven to the streets to clear the snow. Faced with the torture of her mother with hypertension, Li Yalin cried silently, but there was nothing he could do.
In 1969, the military deputies and the Military Control Commission marched into Changying, and immediately afterwards, the Changying Revolutionary Committee actively mobilized everyone to become the "May Seventh Fighter" of the revolution. This means to take the hukou family to the countryside and receive re-education from the poor and lower-middle peasants. Li Yalin and He Xiaoshu, along with their elderly mother and three children, were driven to the Erdao Commune in Shulan County, Jilin Province, and became members.
At that time, He Xiaoshu was still holding her 6-month-old daughter in her arms, and she could have asked to stay in Changchun, but she was unwilling to let Li Yalin face the cold alone. What she thinks is that even if the days are difficult, the family will always be together. Fortunately, in the same place, there is also the old colleague Sun Ao's family of the long film studio, and the two families huddled together in the biting cold wind to keep warm, and finally survived the harsh winter.
In 1972, Li Yalin suddenly received a notice to quickly return to the long film studio to report. After inquiring, I learned that the long film studio finally resumed the production of feature films, and the first thing to shoot was "Sunny Days" based on Haoran's novel. Before that, the long film studio decided to arrange "Sunny Days" as a drama for performance. And who will play the male protagonist Xiao Changchun? Everyone thought about it and thought of Li Yalin.

In 1975, Li Yalin and He Xiaoshu both came to the Emei Film Studio in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. Along with them came Kindi and many others.

At that time, Li Yalin was 44 years old, but still full of energy. He loves movies so much that he seems to be giving everything up for them.
In the E-Film Studio, he not only starred in films such as "Peacock Flying to Awa Mountain" and "Willow Dark Flowers", but also directed such excellent works as "The Forgotten Corner of Love" and "Why Give Birth to Me".
And just when He Xiaoshu and her husband shared the joy of success together, she never imagined that there would be greater misfortune waiting for her.
In 1987, Li Yalin prepared to put Lu Wenfu's novel "Well" on the screen, and invited Pan Hong and Li Zhiyu, who had worked well together in "Distressed Laughter", to play the male and female protagonists again. However, just as the film crew was shooting intensely on location in Suzhou, Li Yalin suddenly felt that something strange had happened to his body.
First the toes of the right foot began to tingle, and then the knee of the right leg began to lose consciousness. At that time, He Xiaoshu was still in Chengdu because his youngest daughter was facing the college entrance examination. When she rushed to the Suzhou film crew, Li Yalin's condition was already somewhat serious. With the help of Li Zhiyu, a professor from Shanghai Huashan Hospital saw him and suggested that he be hospitalized for observation, but Li Yalin resolutely refused, saying that the crew was in Suzhou, how could I, the director, leave them alone?
He Xiaoshu knew Li Yalin's temper, so he persuaded him to go to Suzhou for a nearby examination, and as a result, he met a doctor who was not up to par, and in the face of Li Yalin's CT, he wrote the four big words "no abnormality" with a big stroke of the pen. And it was these four words that gave Li Yalin the wrong guidance, so that he did not attract enough attention. Later, when he found that his right half of his body could not move, he realized that something was wrong.
At this time, he was still worried that his film had not yet been filmed. So every day, He Xiaoshu could only help him to go to the studio to shoot. In the end, he could only play for Pan Hong and Li Zhiyu on crutches.
Later, through the relationship that Pan Hong knew, they came to the hospital in Chengdu for examination, and then found that Li Yalin had a tumor in his brain, and it was already malignant, and he had to undergo surgery.
Hearing this news, He Xiaoshu was like a thunderbolt on a sunny day. But she could not show any strange emotions, for fear of letting her husband lose confidence in fighting the disease after learning the truth.
For Li Yalin's sudden illness, many colleagues at Eying Studio, including his three daughters, were particularly surprised. Because in their memories, Li Yalin never seemed to have any disease, but he did not expect that the illness would be so frightening. When they saw Li Yalin, who used to be as strong as an ox, now lying on a hospital bed, describing the withering tree, everyone could not help but burst into tears.
At this time, Li Yalin always smiled and said, I think I can survive, I can at least work for another ten years.
However, contrary to wishes, on April 14, 1988, Li Yalin, a famous film performance artist and famous director in China, finally died of brain cancer and ineffective treatment.
