Recently, the East Cargo Area Project of the Phase III Expansion Project of Xi'an Xianyang International Airport undertaken by China Construction Eighth Engineering Bureau was awarded the honor of the 2023 WOCA AWARDS-Asia Division Gold Award in the highly competitive "2023 WOCA Floor Award - Asia Division" selection activity with its high-quality construction level.
The WOCA Flooring Awards (WOCA AWARDS) is presented by WOCA Asia Concrete World Expo to recognize the construction of flooring projects with excellent overall flooring engineering quality in Asia, and to promote the excellence of overall flooring engineering quality in Asia. With reference to international standards, the Asia Flooring Award conducts on-site performance testing of the candidate projects, and measures and compares the three dimensions of (1) flatness, (2) surface wear resistance, and (3) surface bond strength of the flooring project. It is unique in the flooring industry with its professional and authoritative judging standards, and has received wide attention and praise from all walks of life.

As an important support base for air logistics, the East Cargo Area Project of the third phase expansion project of Xi'an Xianyang International Airport is of great significance to build a large-scale international hub open to the west, an air logistics hub of the "Belt and Road", an "three-in-one hub airport" of the national comprehensive transportation hub in the western region, and an important part of the construction of the "International Transport Corridor" and "International Aviation Hub". After the construction, it will make up for the shortcomings of the cargo service function and spatial layout of Xi'an Xianyang Airport, improve the processing capacity and capacity of the cargo area, and meet the rapid growth demand of air cargo.

In the floor construction planning stage, the project team carefully organized around the high-precision requirements of "zero cracking and flatness of ≤3mm/2m" of emery flooring, inspected floor cases on the spot, and visited and organized relevant experts to evaluate the floor design scheme.
The project department strengthened the benchmarking and communication with the same owner and the same design unit of the West Freight Area project, and after studying the quality perception of the corundum floor presented by the same practice, the key points of quality risk control were summarized through discussion, and the participating units were informed in advance, and the improvement plan was put forward and the reverse planning was proposed.
The project department has established a communication mechanism with 18 external units such as weak current, underbody sweeping, logistics process equipment, and security detectors, strictly implemented the process handover and concealed acceptance countersigning system, and coordinated the management of the construction content of various professional units to avoid damage and rework to the ground in the later construction.
The project fully implements the principle of model first and pre-planning, and determines the floor construction technology with no cracking, no sand, no falling off, high flatness and high level. In the construction process, maintain high standards and high requirements, and actively implement the specifications and requirements of the owner, design and supervision units, strictly control the entry of materials, process acceptance and supervision of side stations.
Since the start of the project, it has been closely linked to quality, implemented safety at all levels, steadily advanced various processes, and completed various established tasks with high quality, which has been highly recognized by all parties involved.
The WOCA Asia Flooring Gold Award is not only an affirmation of the construction achievements of the project, but also a recognition of the hard work and professionalism of the project team.
