On the morning of April 30, the construction of the Xifeng Tunnel of Pingqing Railway, which was managed and constructed by the Lanzhou Engineering Construction Headquarters of China Railway Lanzhou Bureau Group Co., Ltd. and undertaken by China Railway 21st Bureau Group Co., Ltd., officially began construction.
Xifeng Tunnel is located in the loess plateau area of Houguanzhai Town, Xifeng District, Qingyang City, Gansu Province, which is a single-hole double-lane tunnel with a single-sided downhill slope and a total length of 1,885 meters. The tunnel excavation section is 1705 meters long, passing under Dong Zhiyuan, the tunnel entrance passes under the plateau surface, extends the line to the north and west, and the exit is located in the loess gully, the elevation of the bottom of the ditch is about 1372.5 meters, the depth of the ditch is about 16 meters, and the maximum buried depth of the original surface is about 17.8 meters. The tunnel excavation section is 180 meters long and passes under the embankment section of Qinglan Expressway. Because the tunnel passes through oil and natural gas pipelines in many places, it has the characteristics of difficult construction and high safety risk.
With a total length of about 92 kilometers, the Pingqing Railway is a national I. double-track passenger and freight co-line electrified railway from Pingliang City to Qingyang City in Gansu Province, and is a key project included in the national medium and long-term railway network planning, the "14th Five-Year Plan" railway development plan, and the "Outline of the Yellow River Basin Ecological Protection and High-quality Development Plan", and is also one of the 20 major railway projects planned by China Railway Group this year, and is an important part of the Lanzhou-Dingxi-Pingliang-Qingyang-Yan'an railway planned by Gansu Province.
