Blatantly discriminatory against Chinese! Thai temple Chinese slogans cause controversy!

On April 28, Thai media Kaosong reported that a netizen shared a placard pasted in the toilet of a Thai temple on a Chinese online platform, which reads Thai, Chinese (simplified) and English, of which both Thai and English are "Please keep hygienic", but the Chinese slogan reads "Chinese tourists, please keep hygienic", which is hotly discussed on Chinese online platforms.

Thai media said that the netizen was very angry after seeing the above placard, and suddenly his mood became very bad. After the incident was exposed, it also caused dissatisfaction among many Chinese netizens, because the Chinese slogan specifically emphasized "Chinese tourists", which seemed to be deliberately targeting Chinese tourists, and netizens believed that this practice was discrimination against Chinese tourists.

Among them, some Chinese netizens commented, "I hope that Chinese will carefully consider whether to travel to Thailand", "English only requires hygiene, and this Chinese slogan is obviously aimed at Chinese tourists", "Isn't it a shame to say this in a country with a low safety factor like Thailand?", "Thailand itself is not a clean place", "Thailand does not dare to treat Europeans and Americans like this", "Don't let Chinese go to Thailand again".

At the same time, some Chinese netizens believe that the above placards are just trying to get the cooperation of tourists. Netizens said, "As a Chinese, I hate some Chinese tourists who do not flush toilets, spit, make loud noises and litter", and "rich people always like to travel abroad, but their bad performance has brought endless troubles to future generations."

In addition, Thai media said that the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a reminder message in 2013, requiring Chinese to maintain proper behavior, pay attention to their image, travel in a civilized manner, and get along with local people in a friendly manner, showing a good image of Chinese tourists.
