Shoigu was not wrong at all. Some time ago, Pakistan hosted a conference on "Afghanistan", which focused on the internal, military and political instability in Afghanistan. China, Iran, and other Gulf states in the Middle East have agreed to do everything they can to help Afghanistan stabilize its internal situation, but it also needs the Taliban government to act more aggressively.
It can be seen from this that the outside world has some complaints about the Taliban, the Afghan regime. Pakistan, for example, has been attacked by extremist groups in Afghanistan more than once before.
And Shoigu believes that there are two serious problems in Afghanistan now, the first is the unscrupulous terrorist organizations. Second, the United States is gradually moving its tentacles deep into Afghanistan. It is an attempt to influence the internal situation in Afghanistan and re-establish a self-dominated security system by building up military infrastructure and secretly supporting terrorists.
You know, Afghanistan borders the mainland and is Russia's traditional sphere of influence. Although the United States withdrew its troops from Afghanistan in 2021, it has never abandoned the so-called "Afghanistan Strategy". Because by planting a nail in Afghanistan, the United States can kill two birds with one stone, threatening both China and Russia.
Judging from the recent actions of the United States, the US Deputy Secretary of State led a delegation to Pakistan and the Middle East. One of the most important aspects of this is to discuss the security interests of the situation in Afghanistan with regional countries. At this juncture, the United States is obviously not well-intentioned in this move. I also wonder if the "security interests" of the United States cover Afghanistan itself, and whether it is aimed at China and Russia.
Therefore, we should be clear to everyone that the frequent visits of the United States to China during this period of time do not represent the relaxation of Sino-US relations. On the contrary, the United States is stabilizing China on the one hand and accelerating the deployment of its China strategy on the other. Moreover, this strategy is all-encompassing, not just in the South China Sea and the Taiwan Strait. It also covers South Asia, Southeast Asia, Central Asia, and the Korean Peninsula.
Of course, just looking at the situation in Central and West Asia, such as Afghanistan, it is not so easy for the United States to make a big fuss here. On the one hand, the United States has squandered 20 years of advantages, and a return to Afghanistan is almost impossible. On the other hand, Russia attaches more importance to the situation in Central Asia than we do, and has been closely watching the actions of the United States. Taking a step back, with Russia staring at it, China's big rear can be much more relieved.
