Brief introduction: This year's "Why China" Cultural Relics and Archaeology Exhibition series focuses on the ancient civilization center in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, and grandly holds the "Star China: Sanxingdui Jinsha Ancient Shu Civilization Exhibition". The archaeological discoveries of Sanxingdui and Jinsha sites shocked the world, and gradually unveiled the distant and mysterious veil of the ancient Shu civilization. Its successive archaeological excavations of cultural relics have distinctive artistic characteristics and shocking beauty. The formation and development of the ancient Shu civilization has significant regional characteristics of faunal culture, and it is also the result of cultural exchanges and interactions between different ethnic groups and cultures. To this end, on the occasion of the opening of the East Hall, the Shanghai Museum joined hands with the Sichuan Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology, Sichuan Guanghan Sanxingdui Museum, and Chengdu Jinsha Site Museum to co-sponsor the exhibition, and borrowed the exhibition from 28 cultural and archaeological institutions across the country, the exhibition exhibited a total of 363 pieces of cultural relics, bringing together the latest archaeological discoveries, the latest cultural relics restoration results, is the largest and highest standard exhibition lineup of archaeological relics unearthed from the ancient Shu civilization outside Sichuan Province so far. Some of the cultural relics unearthed in Sanxingdui were restored by the Shanghai Museum and exhibited to the public for the first time. The Liangzhu culture "Ten Sections of Jade Cong" unearthed in the sacrificial area of Chengdu Jinsha site will also be the first time to "return to the hometown" after more than 3,000 years. Brief introduction: After three years of planning and two years of shooting, the exhibition takes Sanxingdui culture as the theme and 12K digital technology as a means to realize the deep integration of culture, technology and art, which is a solid practice of the national cultural digitalization strategy. Through the three parts of "Touching Dreams", "Encounters" and "Agility", the exhibition displays 12K ultra-high-definition digital images of cultural relics, the archaeological excavation process of Sanxingdui and contemporary artworks with the theme of Sanxingdui created by domestic and foreign artists. Brief introduction: In 2023, Mr. Zhang Zongxian, a famous collector, donated 32 sets of 46 pieces of copper cloisonné enamel to the Shanghai Museum. After that, Mr. Zhang Zongxian donated 8 pieces of copper cloisonné enamel to the Shanghai Museum again, two donations of a total of 54 pieces, rich and diverse, including furnishings, daily necessities, stationery, etc., the age span is wide, from the Ming Dynasty to the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China, it can be described as a large number of fine products. In order to thank Mr. Zhang Zongxian for his generous donation, starting from April 25, 2024, the Shanghai Museum will hold a special exhibition in the exhibition hall on the fourth floor of the People's Square Pavilion, to promote his private collection and public use and his ardent feelings for the homeland.

Introduction: In the late 17th century, the art of painting enamel was introduced to China from the West, and the craftsmen of Guangzhou fused it with traditional Chinese crafts to gradually develop a wide enamel comparable to that of the West.
