The only empress who was martyred in the history of the Qing Dynasty!

author:Baiwei says history

Abahai stood out for her beauty and shrewdness, and became the eldest concubine of Nurhachi at the age of 12;

The only empress who was martyred in the history of the Qing Dynasty!

Abahai

Abahai was the eldest concubine of the Qing Dynasty Taizu Nurhachi, who was born in the capital of Wulabu, which is now the Manchu Township of Wula Street, Jilin City, Jilin Province.

Abahai's father was Ulab Belmantai, and when she was 7 years old, her father died unexpectedly, so her uncle Buzhantai inherited Ulabbele, and Abahai lived a life under the fence ever since.

In 1593, nine tribes, including the Yehe and Ula tribes, jointly attacked Nurhachi in Jianzhou, but were defeated by Nurhachi, and Buzhantai was captured and imprisoned for three years before being released.

In 1601 A.D., when Abahai was 12 years old, she was already unusually beautiful and intelligent, and according to historical records, she was "rich and beautiful, and organically changed".

At that time, Nurhachi's power was already very strong, and in November 1601, Nurhachi led the Mongol iron cavalry, and after six days and six nights of bloody battles, he wiped out the Hada tribe in one fell swoop.

Buzhantai was well versed in the truth of the cold lips and teeth, and he also knew that Nurhachi was ambitious, and he had long had the ambition to unify the various tribes of Mongolia.

In order to keep the status of his Urabu and not be wiped out by Nurhachi, he wanted to marry Nurhachi.

Buzhantai first married his half-sister to Nurhachi's younger brother Shulhaqi, and then personally sent Abahai to Hetuala, the capital of the Jurchens of Jianzhou.

The clever Abahai knew that she had no choice, and she did not dare to refuse, because she knew better than anyone that it was useless to resist, and that it might even bring disaster to her own people.

Therefore, Abahai could only accept it gladly, and the bitterness in his heart could only be swallowed by himself, and he had no choice but to fall victim to the political marriage between the tribes.

This year, Abahai was only 12 years old, and Nurhachi was 43 years old, and there were seven beautiful concubines in the family.

In 1603 AD, Nurhachi's third concubine, Mengu Zhezhe, saw that Nurhachi became more and more fond of Abahai, who was younger and more considerate than herself.

But he became a corner forgotten by love, and finally became depressed, became seriously ill, and died at the age of 29.

She used to be Nurhachi's favorite concubine, and she also gave birth to a son for Nurhachi, who was Emperor Taiji of the Qing Dynasty.

And the young Huang Taiji believed that his mother's death had a lot to do with Abahai, and the seeds of hatred had long been deeply rooted in his heart.

Therefore, Huang Taiji has been looking for an opportunity to avenge his mother and wants to kill Abahai with his own hands.

Babhai soon relied on his beauty and intelligence to be favored by Nurhachi, and at the age of 14, he took over the position of the eldest concubine, and the "eldest concubine" was equivalent to the queen.

Abahai led the harem at a young age, and he was glamorous, which can be seen from his mind and methods.

And Abahai was indeed fortunate enough to give birth to three sons for Nurhachi: Azig, Dolgon, and Dordor.

These three sons are all outstanding, especially the second son Dorgon, who "stands out from the crowd".

Nurhachi not only loved Abahai very much, but also loved the three sons even more and regarded them as treasures.

Despite their young age, Nurhachi still handed over three of the Eight Banners of Manchuria to the three Dolgon brothers.

Because Abahai is very insightful in politics, she can also help Nurhachi win people's hearts in life, she is favored by Nurhachi, her reputation is increasing day by day, and she gradually sits in the harem, and her life can be said to have reached its peak at this time.

Abahai red apricot went out of the wall, and there was a love scandal with his stepson Daishan;

Abahai

In 1612 AD, Dai Shan, Huang Taiji and others, because they could not bear the abuse of the eldest brother Chu Ying, jointly filed a complaint to Nurhachi, and Chu Ying was deposed as the heir and dismissed from power.

By the time Abahai reaches the age of 30, Nurhachi will be 61 years old, and the deadline may not be long in coming.

According to the Jurchen tribe's custom of "receiving step-marriage": after the death of the husband, the wife is enjoyed by the successor, and of course inherits all the family members.

But Nurhachi could not rest assured that young Abahai was not yet reassured, and his three most beloved children were not yet adults.

If their successor is of bad character, then the life of the four of them will be very difficult.

So Nurhachi chose and finally chose the heir as the second son, Daishan.

Daishan was the oldest of Nurhachi's many sons, and he was not only brave and good at fighting, but also had good conduct.

When he was 16 years old, he participated in the Jurchen tribal campaign with his father Nurhachi, and fought in the east and west, with outstanding military achievements, and he also held the two red flags in his hand.

After the war situation stabilized, he assisted Nurhachi in managing the government and became the most trusted person around Nurhachi.

Nurhachi appointed Daishan as the Great Baylor to take charge of his political affairs, and Daishan also became Nurhachi's most optimistic successor.

According to the record of "Manchu Old File Taizu":

After a hundred years, my young sons and Dafujin will be handed over to the eldest brother for adoption.

That is to say, when Nurhachi dies, the heir is Daishan, and he can also inherit Nurhachi's children, the Great Fujin Abahai and other Fujin, except for his own biological mother, of course.

And Abahai felt that he would marry Dai Shan anyway in the future, so it was better to contact him in advance now, so as to contact the relationship between the two "husband and wife".

Abahai wants to rely on Daishan's political status to pave a smooth career path for his three sons.

So she often made eye contact with Dai Shan in private, and she also sent someone to send Dai Shan wine and food, and even she would quietly go to Dai Shan for a tryst in the middle of the night.

So some friends asked: Abahai has the power to the harem, and Nurhachi is still alive, why would she do this?

Abahai did this for three reasons:

First, the main reason is that Nurhachi was already old, already in his 60s, and he was 31 years older than Abahai.

Second, Nurhachi has suffered a lot of physical injuries due to his perennial battles, and he is also old, so many things have long been inadequate.

Abahai felt that Nurhachi was becoming colder and colder to him, and his heart longed for a hot love to nourish him.

And Dai Shan was only 7 years older than him back then, and the two were of the same age, so they became the best candidates.

Third, it is a hint from Nurhachi: I will not be there in the future, you are Daishan's wife, you communicate with Daishan as soon as possible, and Daishan will be able to treat you well in the future.

Based on the above three points, over time, even he acquiesced that sooner or later he would be a benevolent person.

Next, Abahai took the initiative to show favor to Daishan, and after coming and going, the two sparked a spark of love.

Of course, what we know is only a more subtle and euphemistic statement in the official history, and we can't even know how deep the two have become.

It is also based on Nurhachi's hints that the two do not shy away from other people, and Nurhachi also turns a blind eye to this matter.

Abahai and Daishan East Window incident, the concubine was abolished and then lost and regained;

The only empress who was martyred in the history of the Qing Dynasty!

Daizen

In 1620 A.D., Nurhachi's little Fujin Deinze accused Abahai of having an affair with Daishan.

It is said that when Dafu Jin Abahai held a party, the two of them dressed up in flowers and branches and Dai Shan eyebrows, and often went out of the palace in the middle of the night to go to Dai Shan's house for private meetings.

According to the record of "Manchu Old File Taizu":

Da Fu Jin twice prepared meals for Da Baylor, and Da Baylor ate them.

Again he brought food to Four Baylor, but Four Baylor did not eat.

And Da Fu Jin sent people to Da Baylor's house two or three times a day, and there was probably something to discuss together.

Da Fu Jin himself was discharged from the hospital two or three times in the dark.

This time, many shady things between the two of them were exposed, and Nurhachi could no longer pretend to be deaf and dumb, so he immediately sent someone to investigate.

After an investigation, Nurhachi confirmed that Abahai and Daishan did indeed correspond frequently in private, and the minister in charge of investigating the case also said:

"Many people saw the problem between the eldest concubine and the eldest Baylor, and the two often frowned, and sometimes went to a room alone, but everyone was afraid to report it because of their power. ”

According to the rules of Houjin at that time, without the permission of the Great Khan, all the harem concubines could not send anything to others, even if it was just a leaf or a grass branch, otherwise they would be severely punished.

In a fit of rage, Nurhachi stripped Abahai of the title of concubine.

According to the record of "Manchu Old File Taizu":

Dafujin stole a lot of satin, python satin, gold and silver and hidden.

According to Houjin's rules, underage children need to live with their mothers.

However, Nurhachi did not want her three sons to suffer, so he did not punish Abahai, and only drove her back to her parents' house on the charge of "hiding gold and silver", and did not allow her to approach anyone.

In the end, Nurhachi suppressed the matter, and Abahai was not deposed as a wife from beginning to end.

I thought that Abahai would disappear like a flash in the pan, but in fact, Nurhachi was not really angry in his heart, but for the sake of dignity, he pretended to be angry, after all, the ugliness of the family should not be publicized.

Just a year later, Nurhachi occupied Liaoyang and immediately went to Abahai's maiden home and took her back.

After taking back Abahai, she was re-established as a concubine, and still gave her the respect and treatment of Dafujin.

Nurhachi still doted on her as if nothing had happened, even more than before.

And Dai Shan's ending was not so lucky, Nurhachi found out that Jin Shan had ruthlessly abused his ex-wife's sons Yue Tuo and Shuo Tuo.

Nurhachi was furious when he found out, because he himself was the child of his father and ex-wife, and then he was mistreated by his stepmother.

So Nurhachi thought that once Abahai really succeeded in marrying Daishan, his three sons would also be abused by him.

Nurhachi clearly told Daishan that you don't have to think about inheriting the throne of the Great Khan.

Although Dai Shan was abolished as the crown prince, he was still the head of the four Baylors and could still participate in the governance of the country.

At this point, this "scandal" has come to an end, and the driving force behind all this is Huang Taiji.

In fact, Abahai's actual performance in this incident was more intelligent than recorded in history.

The world only knows that she only pleases Dai Shan, but in fact, she even pleases Huang Taiji with her.

Because Abahai felt that if it weren't for the second son, Dai Shan would have had the opportunity to sit in the position of the prince with the ability of Huang Taiji.

Therefore, Abahai also took Huang Taiji to curry favor with him.

But how smart Huang Taiji is, he knows the danger of fighting for the throne, and if he is not careful, he will fall into the abyss of no disaster.

Therefore, Huang Taiji was unmoved in the face of Abahai's flattery.

Over time, Abahai always looked bored with himself at first sight, so he gave up the idea of currying favor with Huang Taiji.

Why is Nurhachi so tolerant of the "scandal" incident and Abahai?

The only empress who was martyred in the history of the Qing Dynasty!

Nurhachi

Abahai and his son had an affair and cuckolded themselves, but instead of blaming them, Nurhachi helped them hide it.

And from beginning to end, Nurhachi did not stop or kill her, but only let her go back to her parents' home to avoid the limelight for a while.

Only a year later, he took her back to continue to be a great blessing, and he spoiled her even more than before.

Why was Nurhachi's punishment so light? You must know that Nurhachi was not a philanthropic person, let alone an open-minded person.

It turned out that Nurhachi was reluctant to punish Abahai and Daishan for the following reasons:

First, he really loved Abahai too much to lose her.

Moreover, when Nurhachi chooses an heir, he must not only look at the ability of the other party, but also consider whether the heir can be good to Abahai.

Second, family ugliness should not be publicized, not to mention that this matter was also acquiesced by oneself.

Nurhachi also took care of his own face, and was even more reluctant to expose the matter in public.

Third, Nurhachi did not intend to punish Dai Shan severely, because the first "prince" had already been abolished by him, and if the second "prince" was abolished, it would cause panic.

At the same time, it will be seen as a big joke by other tribes, so he can only choose to calm down.

Abahai was forced to be martyred;

The only empress who was martyred in the history of the Qing Dynasty!

Abahai

On July 23, 1626, in the first month, Nurhachi led the Houjin army to attack Ningyuan City, but was seriously injured by the red-clothed cannon of Yuan Chonghuan, the Ming guard, and went to Qinghe Hot Spring to recuperate.

On August 7 of the same year, Nurhachi's condition suddenly worsened, and he decided to return to Shenyang immediately, knowing that the end was near.

While sailing down the Prince River, Nurhachi ordered people to urgently ask for the Great Fortune Jin Abahai, and the two discussed the secret matter of Dolgon's succession to the throne and the auxiliary government of Daishan.

On the afternoon of August 11 of the same year, Nurhachi died of a sudden attack of poisonous sores, which could not be cured.

However, Abahai never even dreamed that the day of Nurhachi's death would be the time of his own death.

On August 12, the day after Nurhachi's death, the "Four Great Beylers" led by Huang Taiji broke into the harem.

In front of Alahai, Huang Taiji conveyed Nurhachi's "last words" and forced Abahai to obey the orders of the previous emperor to be martyred.

According to the "Records of Emperor Taizuwu":

After Rao Fengzi, but jealousy, every time the emperor is displeased, although there are organic changes, it is finally controlled by the emperor's wisdom. After staying for fear of national turmoil, the last words to the kings said: "I will die, I will be martyred." "After the kings told the emperor with his last words, they did not obey. The kings said: "The first emperor has a fate, although he wants not to obey, he cannot get it." Then he dressed in ceremonial clothes, decorated with jewelry, and lamented the kings, saying: "I have been the emperor since I was twelve years old, and I have been rich in clothes and food for twenty-six years, and I can't bear to leave, so I am subordinate to the ground." My two sons, Dolgon and Dord, should be gracious. The kings wept and said, "Second younger brother, if we have no grace, we will forget our father." How can there be no reason not to be gracious!" So, after committing suicide on the 12th Xinhai Chen, he lived thirty-seven years, and was the same as the emperor. ”

At first, Abahai strongly resisted and resisted, but seeing Huang Taiji's resolute attitude, he gave up fearless resistance.

On August 12, 1626, Abahai committed suicide and left the palace at the same time as Nurhachi's body and placed in the northwest corner of the city.

Huang Taiji got rid of Abahai and used the wisest method, which is the "burial" in the beautiful name.

On the other hand, Abahai's ending is also very sad, when she was in trouble, her sweetheart who was once affectionate and sweet, and never stood up to say a word for her throughout the whole process.

On the contrary, he watched coldly, which also shows from another perspective that the relationship between Daishan and Abahai is a pure interest relationship, and there is no emotion between the two at all, but they just use each other.

Moreover, Dai Shan saw that the four major Baylors had become powerful at that time, and he had already taken the initiative to take refuge in Huang Taiji and his gang.

Some friends asked: Didn't Abahai still have three sons, why didn't they rescue their mother?

Remember that when Abahai was forced to die, her three sons were too young: Azig was 22 years old, Dorgon was 15 years old, and Dodor was only 13 years old.

Although they were all given Baylor and each received a banner, the three of them had no say in the court at all, let alone the power to stand alone, so they had no ability to save their mother.

Why did Huang Taiji have to force Abahai to death?

The only empress who was martyred in the history of the Qing Dynasty!

Huang Tai Chi

First of all, Huang Taiji wants to avenge his mother;

Huang Taiji's mother, Meng Gu Zhezhe, was angry with Abahai because of his favor, and Huang Taiji had long hated Abahai, so he had to die for her;

Secondly, Huang Taiji wants to keep the sweat position;

If Abahai were alive, it is highly likely that two scenarios would occur:

One is that Abahai will definitely join forces with Daishan to deal with himself together;

The other is that when Abahai's three sons grow up, any one of them may inherit the throne, especially Dorgon, who will definitely threaten his throne.

Therefore, Abahai's death was beneficial and harmless to Huang Taiji, and not only Huang Taiji had such thoughts, but the other three Baylors also had the same thoughts.

Epilogue:

Abahai was clever and confused for a while, even if he was in a high position? In the end, because he lacked a far-sighted sense of danger, he fell into a state of isolation and helplessness, and did not have the last laugh.

Abahai's death was a long-planned conspiracy, and she eventually became a loser in the power struggle, and became the only empress in the history of the Qing Dynasty to be martyred for the first emperor.
