The 19th China Young Women Scientists Award Ceremony was held in Beijing

author:Shandong Provincial Association for Science and Technology

On April 28, the 19th China Young Women Scientists Award Ceremony, co-hosted by the All-China Women's Federation, the China Association for Science and Technology, the Chinese National Commission for UNESCO and L'Oréal China, was held in Beijing.

After the review of the 19th China Young Women Scientist Award, 20 female scientists, including Wang Hongxia, director and chief physician of the Cancer Center of the First People's Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, won the 19th China Young Women Scientist Award, 5 teams, including the overall design and verification team of large bypass ratio turbofan engine, won the 19th China Young Women Scientist Award Team Award, and 10 people, including Ding Wenna, a postdoctoral fellow at the Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, were selected for the 8th Future Women Scientist Program.

Established in 2004, the China Young Women Scientists Award is an extension of the "World Outstanding Women in Scientists" award established by UNESCO and L'Oréal Group in China. Over the past 20 years, the scale of the award has increased from 5 to 20 per session, and it has become an important award for female scientists and technologists and an international recognition platform.

In 2014, the "Future Women Scientists Program" was established and recognized for the first time, which is committed to discovering and cultivating female scientific and technological workers who are in the doctoral or postdoctoral research stage and have strong scientific research capabilities and development potential. In 2022, the number of candidates for the program will be increased from 5 to 10 to further support the development of scientific research talents.

According to the organizers, the younger trend of the selected candidates for this year's Future Women Scientists Program has been further highlighted, and the selected candidates are basically composed of "post-90s", including many "post-95" talents.
