Shenzhen's food safety sampling is leading in the country
The deputies and committee members first listened to the introduction of the food safety sampling inspection work of the Shenzhen Municipal Market Supervision and Administration Bureau, as well as the general situation of the laboratory and the development of food testing work of the Shenzhen Institute of Metrology and Quality Inspection. According to reports, Shenzhen will carry out a total of 168,000 batches of food and edible agricultural products in 2023, reaching a coverage rate of 9.6 batches per 1,000 people, which is the leading level in the country.
From March to April this year, the Shenzhen Municipal Administration for Market Regulation organized a series of activities such as the 2024 Shenzhen Food Safety "You Point and I Check, Serve and Benefit the People's Livelihood" to enter the campus in the school season. Through an online questionnaire survey to solicit public opinions, the citizens voted for the most concerned business places for the campus and the surrounding restaurants, snack bars, fast food restaurants, and beverage shops, and the main foods of concern are milk tea, spicy tang, spicy noodles, etc. In view of the above places and food varieties, the Shenzhen Municipal Administration for Market Regulation organized a total of 303 batches of random inspections, and plans to make the sampling results public in the near future.

As one of the food safety sampling institutions in Shenzhen, Shenzhen Institute of Metrology and Quality Inspection has established the National Nutritional Food Quality Inspection and Testing Center (Guangdong), which is a food re-inspection institution recognized by the State Administration for Market Regulation and other three ministries and commissions, a national inspection and testing institution proficiency testing implementation unit, and a proficiency testing provider (PTP) qualification recognized by CNAS. With a food professional team of more than 800 people, it has 7 professional laboratories for food physics and chemistry, nutrition, chromatography, spectroscopy, microbiology, biochemistry and pesticide and animal residue detection, covering 33 categories of food and food contact materials, etc., and is the largest single food testing laboratory in China.
In the quantitative testing laboratory, the inspectors showed the quantitative testing process of different indicators, data reading and result entry, verification, test report issuance and other processes, and understood the quantitative testing of food safety in the whole process. After the observation, the inspectors led the student representatives to experience the food testing experiment, and the atmosphere was lively.
The representatives and members said that the event was innovative in form and close to public opinion, not only experienced the whole process of sample preparation and testing of food quantitative testing, but also truly felt Shenzhen's efforts in promoting food safety and people's livelihood. The student representatives said that through today's experience of food safety experiments, they have increased their knowledge of food safety testing and truly realized that food safety supervision is around them.
