The DPP authorities were overjoyed by the visit of the three US congressmen. The foreign affairs department of the Taiwan authorities said that it expressed a "sincere welcome" to the visit of the three people, and clamored that "this visit demonstrates the firm support of the US Congress for the security of Taiwan and the Taiwan Strait." In the past two years, on the one hand, the United States has continuously sent high-ranking officials to visit the mainland in the hope of erecting "guardrails" in the fierce competition between China and the United States, and on the other hand, it has repeatedly violated its commitments and accelerated the arming of Taiwan, thus continuously sending wrong signals to "Taiwan independence."
It is precisely because of the continuous support of the United States for the DPP authorities that Lai Qingde dares to constantly provoke Chinese mainland. Seventy days have passed since the "2.14 Kinmen malicious collision incident" occurred, and the DPP authorities are still taking a tough attitude, refusing to admit their mistakes, refuse to apologize, refuse to compensate, refuse to investigate responsibility, and refuse to deal with the aftermath. On 23 April, Guan Biling, chairman of the "Maritime Affairs Commission," who played a bad role in the collision of a fishing boat and was bombarded and demanded to step down, was named by Lai Qingde to remain in office.
This shows that the future Lai Qingde authorities have no sincerity at all and do not want to resolve this vicious collision incident. Lai Qingde wants to take advantage of this to continue to confront the mainland, provoke tough confrontations, further stimulate the "anti-China and hate-China" populism on the island, and expand the base of the DPP voters. At the same time, the mainland is forced to make more concessions to the DPP authorities on other cross-strait policies.
Lai Qingde has always maintained that the mainland does not dare to use force against Taiwan because of this incident, and therefore he has a disgusting face that has made the mainland eat you. It seems that in the view of the DPP authorities, as long as it drags on, it will be possible to "turn a big incident into a small one," but the mainland has made it clear that the fishing boat incident will not end in such an inexplicable manner, and that in the end all the consequences will be borne by the DPP authorities.

According to the latest poll released by the Taiwan Public Opinion Foundation on April 23, in terms of political party support, 32.9% of the people support the Democratic Progressive Party, 19.2% of the Chinese Kuomintang, 18.6% of the Taiwan People's Party, and 3% of the Power of the Times. The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) is 13.7 percentage points ahead of the KMT.

Many retired generals of the Taiwan armed forces have also expressed resolute opposition to this, and many of them have openly come forward to expose this as a despicable means used by the DPP to forcibly "green and independent" the Taiwan military. They are very worried that once the DPP completely controls the military power, the outbreak of conflict between the two sides of the strait will be a high probability event.
